*~A/N~* I apologize if there some mistakes in this chapter. I only proof read it once before posting it! I'm extremely busy today, but enjoy! ~

"Mom?"

"Just close your eyes. Promise you won't open them no matter what. Okay? Promise me? Please." Mothers voice was shaking.

"Mother? But wh-"

"Yugi! Please just promise me!" Her voice was now frantic. Terrified I squeezed my eyes shut and nodded. Her hands covered my ears. She hugged me tightly before there was a loud bang making me jump. Mother was laying on top of me. I didn't move . I was frozen in fear. There was another loud bang and the sound of someone hitting the floor. I never opened my eyes, but I swore I heard footsteps leaving the house. I laid in silence on the floor with my mothers limp body pinning me down. I felt warm liquid start to run underneath me. There were sirens outside and I started to shake.

After sometime someone pulled me out from under my mother and my eyes snapped open. I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise mom. My eyes grew wide and my whole body shook. Mom and dad were dead, blood pooling on the floor underneath them, the colour no longer in their faces. But, why is dad holding the gun?

"It seems the woman was the victim and the man shot her then himself". A paramedic whispered to an officer.

Tears exploded from my eyes. "My father would never do this! Mom and dad loved each other! It was someone else! Someone else was here!" I screamed frantically while an officer held my shoulders.

"Did you see anyone else boy?"  Another officer asked me.

"No I promised not to look! But I heard the footsteps!" I fell to my knees.

"I know this is hard for you, but you need solid proof before we can start a using people of murder. Your parents are gone son. Take him outside he shouldn't have to see this."

I was pulled out of the house as I was screaming and crying "He's out there! I know what I heard! Why did this happen?" I hit the ground sobbing. A woman from the ambulance rubbed my back. "Sometimes we imagine things to deny to truth." She looked at me with pity. I snapped up from the ground smacking her hand.

"I'm not crazy and I'm not lying or delusional!" I grabbed the woman gripping into her shoulders. Someone grabbed me from behind restraining my arms. "Let me go! Let me go!" I squirmed trying to escape. The woman came back with a needle in her hand approaching me. I screamed in agony. "Why won't you people listen to me!?" She grabbed my chins and pulled it to the side before something sharp pricked my skin. "Why... He's out there." I faded off feeling my body go listless and my eyes shut.

I jerked forwards out of bed panting heavily and shaking. My eyes scanned the room for a few seconds before realizing it was just a dream. A very bad dream. Something I didn't want to remember. I shivered as the morning sun beamed onto me. I basically reflected the sun off my skin. 'I really need to get a tan.' I frowned as the sun started to hurt my head. I had never drank before so I had never experienced the pleasure of having a hangover. I grunted and turned to see Yami laying on his stomach with his head turned towards me, his arm laying over my lap. I felt all the blood in my body rush to my face, even my ears burned as I recalled last nights events. 'How could I be so pathetic' I gently lifted his arm and placed it beside him. Slowly I got out of bed not making a sound until I stepped on the wood floor. Creak. 'Damn it' I heard Yami grunt and roll onto his back. He groaned a few more times shifting his back and forth. His face had little to no colour in it and the bags still remained under his eyes. He was sweating as clenched the sheets. I started to get worried so I whispered near his ear.

"Yami? Yami, please wake up. Do you want me to get you some water?" He grunted in response. I just took it as a yes, and took the glass from the end table and walked into the bathroom. I had only half filled it up before I heard loud clumsy footsteps running towards me. Yami collapsed at the toilet just in time for his vomit to hit the bowl. His head leaned on the rim and his arms dangled beside him. I sat on my knees and lifted his head and put the rim of the glass up to his mouth. He didn't move or open his eyes.

"Yami your body is beyond dehydrated you need to drink the water." I made sure my words were gentle . His eyes squinted open and he gave me a scowl. My head really hurt and I couldn't control my emotions so I snapped. "Just drink the damn water!" 'So much for being gentle Yugi. Nice work' I felt my face burn in embarrassment that I raised my voice to the guy who took care of me all night. He hesitated for a second, but then nodded and drank the water. I refilled the glass and handed it to him. He started at it and then looked to me. I didn't say anything this time but I shook the glass in a beckoning motion. He grabbed it from me and drank it before returning it my hand. We sat quietly for a couple of minutes before Yami spoke.

"How are you feeling?" His voice was raspy and toneless.

"I'm fine. Uhm. T-Thanks for taking care of me last night." I couldn't look at him. I felt so stupid from my actions.

"Thanks for the water" he chuckled at me. "Do you cook?" I felt my eyebrows raise at the corners.

"W-what?"

"Can you cook? Like can you make breakfast if I give you ingredients for it?"

I actually did know how to cook. I had this giddy feeling inside me. Yami wants me to cook him breakfast. "Of course!" I smiled at him.

"To be honest, I haven't eaten in a couple of days and I'm feeling weak." He sighed as he picked himself up from the floor flushing the toilet and cleaning up. "And by look and sound of it, neither have you." Just then my stomach growled and I looked down as my cheeks got hot. Yami chuckled opening the door to the bedroom for me. We left the bedroom and headed down the stairs. I guess Yami had carried me to the top floor, but I was to drunk to notice. As we reached the third floor I stopped and starred at one of the doors remembering the scene I had walked in on last night. Yami turned to me.

"Is something wrong?"

"U-Uhm well." I stuttered trying to think of the best way to explain it to him without being embarrassed. "Y-You might want to get that room cleaned before anyone sleeps in there." I broke eye contact turning my head to the side.

A burst of laughter came from him. "Don't worry, the maids do a thorough cleanse of the house after I throw a party" he walked over to me placing his hand under my chin making me look into his eyes as he smiled at me. My eyes twitched at the bags under his eyes. My expression saddened.

"I'm sorry if I kept you up all night Yami. It's my fault you didn't get any sleep." He let go of my chin and stepped back before running his hand through his hair.

"You didn't keep me up at all Yugi. My body just has a hard time shutting off sometimes." He sighed, then wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me down the flights of stairs. There were people passed out everywhere and Yami was nudging almost everyone we walked past to wake them up and make sure they were still alive. We arrived in the kitchen to find Joey passed out on the island. There were knocked over liquor bottles, beer cans and cups everywhere. Maya was standing in the kitchen and shot me and Yami a smile as we entered.

"Is he?" Yami started

"Alive?" Maya finished. "Unfortunately yes, unlike this dumb dumb I actually know my limit." She snickered to herself before Joey let out a huge grunt rolling over a little to far and falling off the island crashing onto the tile of the kitchen floor.

"FUCK!" He gripped the edge of the island pulling himself up. "Maya would you shut up? It's way to early to deal with your annoying ass voice right now!" He clenched his head.

"I know that's the hangover talking Joey Wheeler, but speak to me like that again and I'll make sure you go back to sleep." Maya glared hard at him. He apologized and the smile returned to her face.

Yami opened the cupboards in the kitchen pulling out varies things to make breakfast with. He turned around and starting counting how many people he needed to feed. Laid out all the necessary tools and I started working immediately realizing this was going to be more work then I had thought.

There were fifteen people floating around the kitchen at the smell of the breakfast and more people waking up to the smell of food and making their way into the living room area. When Yugi had finally finished Yami set out paper plates and plastic forks and knives. People started racing to get their plates filled. Yugi had made Blueberry, Raspberry, and banana chocolate chip pancakes. Bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and hash browns all within an hour. Yami sat out milk and orange juice opening a new pack of plastic cups. These people were hungover and drooling at the mouth to get a piece of any of the delicious food. When everyone had their plates full the room filled with compliments on the food. Joey raised his cup of orange juice into the air.

"A toast to Yugi for the best god damn hangover breakfast a man could ask for!" Everyone raised their cups and cheered with him. I stood awkwardly tensing as all eyes were on me. My face was on fire. Yami walked up to me putting his hand onto my shoulder.

"Thanks Yugi" he smiled at me. Not his usual smile. A very sweet genuine smile which made a million sparks ignite my body. We sat down and ate together enjoying each other's company. It had been awhile since I ate and didn't feel sick so I probably was enjoying the food a little to much. I glanced at Yami to see that he was enjoying his meal also which made me inwardly sigh happily.

"Have you seen Anzu? I lost her last night when I went to look for you." I looked around and couldn't find her in the sea of people.

"Last night is a bit blurry, but I remember seeing her while we were dancing." He stated after he was done chewing.

"Do you mind if I look for her? I did come here with her last night." Anger flashed across his face for a split second along with something that I didn't catch. He shrugged standing heading outside to smoke.

'Does he not like Anzu?' I felt a sense of guilt as I went to find her. I checked on the bottom floor first coming across a bathroom at the end of one of the numerous halls in the mansion. I knocked on the door. No answer. I opened it just to make sure. Anzu was lying on the floor makeup streaking down her face. "Anzu! Anzu!" I shook her as her eyes flopped open.

"Oh hey Yugi." She put her hand on her forehead. I grabbed some tissue wetting it down and rubbing the black stains from her face. She blinked hard before standing up.

"Are you okay? What happened? Your not hurt are you?" I was worried that maybe someone tried to hurt her, like how I was hurt. There was a lot of people at the party.

"I don't really remember what happened last night. I think I drank to much, but I'm okay other than that." Her stomach rumbled.

"Come to the kitchen I made breakfast and I can get some water into you." I finished wiping her face and lead her to the kitchen. She made a plate for herself and started to devour the food. She peered at me swallowing the last of her food.

"Yugi this is so good, my god." I grinned at the praise. I decided to wrap up the left overs. Yami was still outside smoking with an irritated look that I caused him. The feeling of guilt returned to me.

"Last chance for food!" Loud groans cried from around the room indicating everyone was full. I organized everything into containers placing them into the fridge. Yami returned from outside and sat at the table across from Anzu never once looking in her direction. Everyone started piling out of the house saying their goodbyes, thanking Yami as they left. Anzu got up waving goodbye to us holding her head, as Joey and Maya left with her. It was just me and Yami left. I wondered if I should have left with them. Yami cranked his neck towards me.

"Why did you forgive that girl?" His words came out of nowhere taking me surprise. He just kept his gaze on me. "Didn't she hurt you?" He was tapping his nails on the table.

"Well, everyone deserves a second chance because no one is perfect. We all make mistakes. I would give you a thousand chances over again if it meant I could find the good in you." I beamed at him. His face turned a slight pink before he broke the eye contact.

"You know you can trust me Yugi. You can tell me anything. I will always listen if it's you who is talking." It was my turn to blush this time.

"Well there is one thing that's been bothering me a lot and I-I can't tell anyone other then you, because you're the only one who knows".

"About what happened on Thursday?" I nodded as he sat back in his chair being attentive.

"Someone had called me right before it happened. She had so much hate in her voice. And when those guys showed up the last thing she said was, right on time."

Yami slammed his fist on the table. I jumped back and yelled at the sudden burst of noise that echoed in the silent room. "Someone planned that to happen?!" I could see the frustration on his face. Tears fell from my eyes..

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you. I'm just... Just afraid." My last words were almost silent.

"I'm not angry with you Yugi." He walked around the table pulling me into a hug. "But when I find out who did this I'm going to make them pay". He pulled back so I could see his face and the seriousness it carried. I wanted to protest but I was frozen by his expression. I was so afraid and that made me feel weak. How could I drag Yami into my problems. I really was a selfish person.

"Let me walk you home." I collected my things as we headed down the street towards the game shop.
