~*A/N*~ This is kind of a filler chapter, sorry. BUT GUYS THE NEXT CHAPTER SOME SHITS GOIN' DOWN! OOOOOOOOOOOOOH IM SUCH A TEASE.

The sounds of sirens rang through my ears. I let Yugi answer the emergency personnel. 'I'm sorry mom. Dad. I let your beautiful legacy burn.' I hissed threw my teeth and gripped my hair. I'm done with crying. I have to get over it. I'm probably making Yugi feel worse by acting like this. I know in my heart it's not his fault, but when I look into those big amethyst eyes, I can see his guilt. I inhaled a long breath before I stood up and made my way to Yugi. He was talking to a fireman and he looked very upset.

"I'm not crazy! Someone burned the house and tried to lock us in there!" I felt my pace quicken as the panic spread across Yugi's face.

"What's going on?" He turned to me looking like he could break down any second. He didn't answer me, but kept my gaze before he argued with the man again.

"There had to be more than one culprit! The front and back doors were barred up! Not to mention in a matter of seconds every floor was on fire!" Yugi was livid. He grabbed onto the fireman's arms as he argued.

"For the last time, there were no bars on either doors!" The man yelled over his shoulder, "We need sedation over here!". I watched as Yugi gripped him tighter clenching his teeth. I flashed my eyes to the door to see the bars were missing. 'No doubt it was Kira and whoever he or she is working with.' I grabbed Yugi and pulled him away clamping my hand over his mouth.

"Sorry he's probably just dizzy from the heat. Excuse us." I felt Yugi thrashing around as I swung him away from the man. I brought my voice to his ear. "I know your not crazy, but whoever we're dealing with is probably involved with the police remember? They're extremely thorough when it comes to hiding their evidence. I think we need to leave town and never." I paused before I spat the next words. "I mean never come back." He turned to me with glassy eyes.

"But your home! I should be the one leaving not you!"

"Yugi. There's nothing left here for me anymore" I watched the grief pass over his face. "But I wouldn't change the past if it meant losing you." I pulled him over to our group of friends.

"We're leaving town, and we're not coming back." I wanted to leave right this second so I was as straight forward as possible with them. There eyes screamed sadness, but they all nodded.

"We're coming with you." Joey stared at us with a vacant expression. "I don't want to stay here anymore either."

"That's right. I don't want to wait around to be killed. If you jump, we jump." Maya walked over to us throwing an arm around both me and Yugi hugging us. It was going to be useless arguing with them, but I had to make sure.

"What about your families? Unlike me and Yugi, you guys have loved ones here. Are you really okay with leaving hem and never coming back?" We waited for a moment in silence as my words cut through their ears. Joey looked up at us.

"I'm going. My mother lives away and my father is an abusive alcoholic. I'm not really leaving anything important."

"Joey I-" he raised his hand clearly not wanting to go into it. "Well what about the rest of you?"

"Listen, I don't want to be away from you guys. Even if we just came with you until summer was over. I just don't want to be alone anymore..." Maya was looking away water forming in her eyes. 'Was everyone suffering?' My grip on Yugi's hand grew tighter. I looked from Tristan to Duke. Their eyes spoke for them. I could see the fear. They wanted to run like us and who was I to tell them not to.

"We're leaving now. Before the police get here, If they even show up that is. I have a feeling they're going to try to pin this on us." I made sure to whisper my last words. They nodded and we swiftly walked to the cars parked and the end of the driveway on the other side of the gate. I tossed the keys to Duke. "Maya are you sure you want to ride with Joey, Tristan, and Duke? Or should I say will you survive." I made sure I exaggerated my tone. She giggled.

"I think I have a better chance of not killing them then Anzu does! I think they'd drive her crazy!"

"Can confirm." Anzu said walking away from them and towards us. "Whoa! Are these really the cars were taking!?" She pointed to my car. It was a black Camaro with a convertible top. While Tristan awe'd over the giant black truck that they would be driving. I watched as Yugi put his hands together smiling, eyes sparkling at the car. I couldn't help but chuckle. I guess I didn't realize how lucky I was to have these luxuries. I was thankful that my light carved my path for me. He was changing me.

"So before we leave you guys should probably go to your houses and pack up a few of your necessities. Anzu we'll stop by your house then meet up with the guys once their done. Me and Yugi obviously won't be doing any packing." Joey leaned against the truck.

"What why?" He looked genuinely confused which just made me blink at him. 'Is he being serious? Or is he just really dumb?' Maya then smacked him in the back of the head.

"Because their house just went up in flames! UH-DUH!" Me and Yugi burst out in laughter. She had said exactly what I was thinking.

"Uh... Yeah! I knew that of course!" I shook my head. I gave Duke and Tristan the directions to Kaiba Corp. knowing Joey would be a useless navigator.

After gathering everyone's things we headed out on the freeway. I decided we had may as well put the top down considering it was the middle of July and was damn hot out. I plugged in an auxiliary cord to the main unit of the car and handed it to Yugi.

"Feel free to put on some music. It's going to be awhile anyway." He beamed back at me. I glanced at his delicate snow like hands. I loved how the sun reflected ever so beautifully off of his skin. Radiating onto me with his pure light. I could watch him forever if I didn't need to focus on the road. Yugi was quite the dangerous distraction. He fumbled around with the cable until he had set up the music. I watched as him and Anzu sang along and danced in their seats. Then a smile crossed Yugi's face. Not the smile had been wearing for the past few months. The one that purified the air of any darkness, the one that scorched my soul. Yugi made me appreciate the things I had. I never thought any thing of my house and cars, but watching him glow at something that seemed so simple to me made me grateful for his light. Mom and dad had left me their fortune. It was enough for neither Yugi or I to ever have to work a day in our lives. We could keep running together forever. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with the one person who can control my twilight. I flashed my eyes greedily one more time to Yugi's skin. 'I want to touch him.' I blinked back into reality when I realized my light was starting to turn pink.

"Anzu, can you get the sunscreen out of the bad behind my seat!?" I yelled over the music. She ruffled through the bag handing it to me and I then passed it over to Yugi. "Your burning." He blushed and sheepishly took the bottle from me applying it to his arms, shoulders, neck and face. The suddenness of a loud honk made me jerk my head to the side. Maya rolled down the truck window in the front passenger seat. She wolf whistled.

"Looking good guys! I must say, I'm a little jealous!" The back window rolled down exposing Joey with a huge devious grin on his face.

"You up for a race? Or are you scaaaaaared!?" I felt Yugi grab my hand. I turned towards him as he shook his back and forth rapidly. I felt my mouth grow wide curving up at the corners.

"Okay. Your on." Joey laughed for a second, but grew fidgety when he saw my face. Duke looked over at me and nodded. "To the next intersection." 'Watch Yugi. They don't stand a chance. My car is built to race.' We slowed down as we pulled up to the red light. I listened as the loud truck engine beside me revved, surly burning way to much gas into the environment. I returned his action as my car roared. I turned back to see Yugi looking very nervous as Anzu waited in anticipation smiling. "Don't worry aibou. Just having some fun." 'More like I wanted to show off. I did have a bad side after all.' His eyebrows raised, but before he could retort the light changed green and I floored the gas. The tires span for a second before they caught. We took off so fast leaving the cars behind us in the dust. The engine roared from one gear to the next. The truck was indeed fast but lacked the acceleration mine did. We had already lost sight of them and I couldn't help but start to laugh imagining Joey's face. I slowed down as we reached the lights. "See, nothing to worry about." I smiled at Yugi who was shaking but also had a giant grin across his face.

"That was awesome! They didn't stand a chance!" Anzu cheered laughing and raising her hands up.

"My heart is beating like crazy! B-But that was actually really fun! Yami your so cool!" He started to giggle which made my heart melt and soar at the same time. I couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. The black truck rolled up beside us with Maya and Joey sticking their heads out the window.

"Where have you guys been? I thought we lost you back there!" I made sure my tone was as smug as possible as I looked at Joey.

"Yeah yeah whatever!" He pouted and rolled up his tinted window so I couldn't see him which only made me laugh harder. Maya was laughing at him giving me a thumbs up. The light turned green and we pulled into the Kaiba Corp. parking lot.

"Oh yeah, be careful how you act around Kaiba. He's not the easiest person to handle. Especially you Joey." He put his hands on his chest as his jaw dropped.

"Why me!? This guy gotta problem with me already!?"

"No. But he's irritable when it comes to loud obnoxious people." We all laughed as Joey grumbled and made our way to the entrance of the building.
