Don't even know how I stumbled upon this anime the first time, but if you're curious, yes this is in fact my favorite anime of all time. Rewatched it for the oneshot and its still a STRONG 10/10

The young girl looks around, feeling kind of worried that you would not show up today, especially because today was the only day of the week where you two got to hang out.

"Hey C."

When she heard your voice, she turned around and was surprised at the way you were dressed, which was slightly different than what you usually had on. Charlotte, on the other hand, was wearing clothes you had handed her the first time you two started going out on these special meetups, and she has taken a liking to them since she's not used to wearing clothes like that.

Charlotte: "You're late. What if someone recognized me?"

Y/N: "But you are fine. Better late than never."

Charlotte: "Hmph!"

The girl pouts, feeling just a bit angry that you were always late in every single one of your special days, but at least she was happy that you always showed up, no matter the time.

Y/N: "Well princess, shall we?"

You wink, offering your hand to Charlotte while she still looked a bit mad.

Charlotte: "You're teasing is annoying sometimes."

Y/N: "What? Princess, Charlotte, Charlie. I don't know, I can't think of a good nickname."

Charlotte starts walking, pulling on your hand as she pulled you forward.

Charlotte: "Let's go, we don't have all day."

Y/N: "You are right, Charmander."

Charlotte: "W-What does that even mean?"

Y/N: "Sorry, it's from something I've heard."

You two held hands and started wandering around town, talking about what you two did during the week while still trying to come up with a nickname for her in your head.

Charlotte: "Is it okay if we do it now?"

Y/N: "Now? We usually—"

Charlotte: "Please!"

Charlotte was staring at you, almost as if she had some sort of mind powers that she was trying to use to convince you to take her to her favorite place. She looked really cute, so you decided that it wasn't such a bad idea to go there now.

Y/N: "Okay sure, let's do it now."

Charlotte: "Fantastic!"

It was a long walk, and then you ended up having to give Charlotte a piggyback ride. When you finally got to the place, Charlotte hops off your back, looking around and taking a deep breath.

Charlotte: "The forest!"

Y/N: "Why do you like this place so much again?"

Charlotte: "I thought you already knew. It's because of that."

Charlotte points at the tallest tree of the bunch, looking up and smiling like a child, admiring its magnificence from the ground. She wanted to climb it, and she's tried but it seemed nearly impossible to climb such a thing.

Y/N: "You wanna try again today?"

Charlotte: "Will you catch me?"

Y/N: "I'll try."

Charlotte giggles, looking up at the tree and smiling. She walks towards it, determined to climb to the top this time...

A couple of minutes later

"Almost there..."

This was the first time you had seen Charlotte reach such heights, and it was absolutely astonishing that she had gone this far. But then she missteps.

Charlotte: "Woah!"

She falls off the tree, so you ran and fortunately caught her. When she landed on your arms, the force at which she was falling caused you to also fall, so now you two were on the ground, breathing heavily.

Y/N: "...How about you don't do that again?"

The girl starts laughing, and her laughter made you join her, and then you two started laughing together like children.

Charlotte: "We should do it again next week."

Y/N: "If that's what you want then sure, we'll do it again next week."

You and the girl stood up, looking at each other and smiling.

Charlotte: "You'll climb with me, right?"

Y/N: "If I did, then who's gonna catch you."

Charlotte: "That's a good point."

Y/N: "Hungry?"

Charlotte: "Yep."

You and Charlotte left the forest in a very happy mood, going back to the town to get something to eat.

After eating, you two walked back to her place, but stopped midway like you always did and took a small detour. It was getting late, so the detour led to a place that had a clear view of the beautiful night sky. You really enjoyed doing this with Charlotte because it was the most relaxing time you shared.

You two sat down, and then looked up, at the stars. Tonight was particularly different than the rest because there were more stars up in the sky than there usually are.

Charlotte: "Today was great."

Y/N: "I felt like it went by too fast."

Charlotte: "That's what usually happens when you're having fun."

Y/N: "Yeah..."

The silence wasn't an awkward type of silence, but it was rather comforting, making it feel that this is all there is to life and that there was nothing to ever worry about.

You whistled, then snapped your fingers.

Y/N: "Chair."

Charlotte: "What?"

Y/N: "It's a nickname. Chair."

Charlotte: "Seriously?"

Y/N: "I'm kidding."

The girl giggles.

Charlotte: "You're so weird sometimes."

Y/N: "A fact I'm very proud of."

There was a light gust of wind that made her hair sway, reminding Charlotte that, she couldn't stay there forever. She stands up, feeling a bit sad that the day was over and now had to wait a whole week to see you again, but the wait would be worth it, so she smiles once again.

Charlotte: "I should head back now."

You stand up, looking up one last time and focusing on one star that shined brighter than the rest, then looked down at Charlotte.

Y/N: "Yeah... See you next week."

Charlotte: "See you next week, Y/N."

You hugged Charlotte, and she returned the hug. It felt like it lasted forever, but you two eventually let go of each other, and when you saw that smile of hers, you couldn't help but smile as well.

Y/N: "Goodnight."
