Mugi opens the door to her house, seeing you stand in front of her with a forced smile and a tired look on your eyes.

Y/N: "I'm sorry for... doing this. Again. I truly am sorry."

Mugi: "Don't worry about it, we're friends after all. Please come in."

Since Mugi's parents were on a trip to France, you took the opportunity to stay over at Mugi's house since being in yours was not ideal at all. Mugi understood the circumstances you were in, and was the only person that knew what you were going through so she was always kind to you.

Mugi: "You can use the shower, there's a fresh set of clothes in the bathroom as well."

Y/N: "Thanks."

After taking a shower and putting on very expensive clothes, you went to the guest room where Mugi was waiting for you with food and drinks.

Mugi: "Hello."

Y/N: "Hey."

You sat down, seeing Mugi keep that gentle smile of hers to make you feel at home, and it was working. She sat across from you, asking you the same question she asked you the other day.

Mugi: "Do you want to talk about it?"

You shook your head, rubbing the back of your neck while you laughed nervously.

Y/N: "I'm too tired, actually. And I don't really like talking about it."

Mugi: "I understand. You may rest for a bit on the bed if you want, and we could eat later."

Y/N: "Thank you."

You sat on the bed, lying down and not losing sight of your best friend, who got closer and held your hand.

Mugi: "Know that I'll always be here for you. Sleep well, Y/N."

You held Mugi's hand with a tight grip, so she placed her other hand on top of yours, helping you relax.

Mugi: "I'll be here until you fall asleep."

You felt a lot safer when you were around Mugi, and because of how well she treated you, it made you feel a bit guilty that you took time out of her day just so she could take care of your pathetic self after you were...

You're blaming yourself again.

But she could be doing anything else right now, possibly something much more important than... you stopped thinking about that.

You brought her hand closer to your chest, your heart. Mugi was a bit flustered, seeing how close she was to you made her think of all sorts of things, but the priority was to help you get stronger, and possibly find you somewhere else to live in, which was no problem for Mugi but, you constantly denied her offer every single time she brought it up, so she decided to not do that again until you were ready to move on.

But that time hasn't come yet, and you were not sure when it would.

Mugi felt her hand free, and when she looked at you, you had already fallen asleep so she slowly stood up and left the room so you could rest for as long you could. But sometimes, you only sleep for just a couple of minutes since your nightmares were just reminders of the things that awaited you at your house. Horrible nightmares that were hard to escape.

Not even a full hour has passed as you woke up, sweating and feeling absolutely terrified. You left the room, but then quickly bumped into Mugi, who fell into your arms. She looked up at you and held your hands.

Mugi: "I heard a scream!"

Y/N: "I'm sorry, it was just me. I had another nightmare..."

Mugi: "It's okay, I'm here."

You were still terrified, but having Mugi by your side made you feel just a bit more calm. She smiled, walking into the room and sitting on your bed.

Mugi: "I could sleep with you, if you want."

Y/N: "Are you sure? I don't think we..."

Mugi: "If it helps you sleep better, then I'll do it for you."

When you two got in a comfortable position, you tried to sleep, but it was a bit embarrassing since you had never slept with a girl, especially someone like Mugi. She just smiled, not really knowing how you felt about the whole thing as she wrapped her arms around you, and for some strange reason, it helped you fall asleep.

No nightmares this time.

NEXT DAY

You woke up in the warmth embrace of Mugi's arms, which helped you sleep like a baby last night, as well as helping the nightmares stop even if it was for one night. Mugi was very slowly opening her eyes, so you stood up and waited for her to wake up.

Y/N: "Hey."

Mugi: "Hello there."

Mugi's cute smile always made your heart skip a beat, but she still doesn't know about your suppressed feelings for her. Maybe, one day when you start feeling a lot better, you can finally tell her how you feel then, but now, you had to focus on your health.

Mugi stands up, pulling you outside of the room and bringing you to the dining room.

Mugi: "Yesterday, I talked to my parents and they said they were okay with you living here."

Y/N: "Wait, really? But I told you I didn't—"

Mugi shook her head, gently holding your hands like she always does.

Mugi: "Yes, so you won't have to worry about your old home anymore, Y/N. You're free."

You brought Mugi closer and hugged her, feeling like you were really close to breaking down right in front of her, but you held your tears. Mugi handed you a key to the mansion, which looked a lot more normal than what you had expected.

Mugi: "Welcome. I haven't lived with anyone my age before so it's going to be interesting."

You chuckled and finally realized that you were going to be fine, and you were going to finally have a life free from that which has haunted you for so long.
