"Are you... Ami Kawashima?"

A purple-haired girl stops walking, adjusting her sunglasses and looking away from the person addressing her. Maybe her disguise wasn't as convincing as she thought it would be.

Ami: "N-No, but I get that a lot—"

When she turned around to see who was talking to her, she dropped her purse to the ground in complete disbelief at who she had in front of her.

Ami: "Y/N?! How—Why are you here?!"

Y/N: "So it is you then."

The girl quickly picks up her purse and clears her throat.

Ami: "...Let's go somewhere more private."

She takes your hand and drags you to a place where she could finally talk to you. After five years of not being able to do so...

Flashback

Y/N: "So you're leaving then?"

Ami: "Is that sadness I hear in your voice?"

Ami, trying to hide her own feelings, smirks. You shook your head.

Y/N: "N-No, but now that you're leaving, it feels like we haven't spent much time together."

Ami stands up, taking a deep breath as the soft breeze caressed her face.

Ami: "I'll be back someday. And maybe we can go eat at a fancy restaurant. You're the one who's gonna pay for the food though."

Y/N: "Sure. A hug before you leave?"

Ami: "A hug when we see each other again."

Y/N: "Deal."

And with that, Ami left. She didn't look back, not once. She just kept walking.

Back To Present

Ami quickly locks the door to her hotel room, sighing.

Ami: "This is better."

Ami sat on her own bed while you sat on a chair, facing each other and waiting for the other to talk.

Y/N: "So, Ami Kawashima has become a popular actress."

Ami: "Fufu, I guess so. How did you even know I was in Rome?"

Y/N: "I didn't. What are you doing here?"

Ami: "I'm here for work. My next movie is being filmed here. Your turn."

Y/N: "Running errands for a friend."

Ami: "In Rome?"

Y/N: "He's weird like that."

Then, something happened inside of Ami. Feelings that she once harbored had returned when she saw you smile. It was a very strange feeling to have, but she was welcoming it because she hadn't felt like that in such a long time.

Y/N: "Today's your day off then?"

Ami: "Y-Yeah, I was going to do some shopping until you interrupted my day."

Ami giggles.

Y/N: "You missed me that much huh."

Ami: "Of course I did... You've changed so much, you look like a completely different person."

Y/N: "You haven't. You're still that same annoying girl I met all those years ago."

Ami: "Annoying... I'm glad I left that impression on you."

Y/N: "I'm just glad you're okay."

And that damn smile of yours was all it took for Ami to finally break.

Ami: "...Remember what we talked about before I left."

Y/N: "That we would go out to eat and I would pay for the food?"

Ami: "After that..."

Y/N: "No, I don't think I do."

You did remember, because all you could ever think about ever since Ami left was that last conversation you had with her. But you decided to play around a bit.

Y/N: "Wanna help me remember?"

Ami: "Y-You're teasing me, you idiot..."

Y/N: "I'm being dead serious here."

Ami: "I'm sure you do know what I'm talking about."

Ami extends her arms, her cheeks turning rose as she looked away.

Ami: "I hate doing this..."

Y/N: "Oh! You want a hug?"

Ami: "Just shut up and come here."

You stood up, seeing Ami jump and wrap her arms around your neck while yours wrapped around her waist.

Ami: "I've wanted to hug you for so long."

Y/N: "You're being such a baby right now."

Ami: "I'm gonna choke you."

Y/N: "I missed you too."

The hug lasted longer than you thought it would, and when you felt Ami's arm fall back to her sides, that's when you noticed she had fallen asleep.

Y/N: "This girl... is a mess."

You carried her and gently set her down on the bed. Just as you were about to leave, she got ahold of your hand and squeezed it.

Ami: "Don't leave now, you coward..."

Y/N: "Scary. What do you want me to do?"

Ami: "Sleep with me."

Y/N: "I'm not tired but... sure, why not."

You decided to take a nap next to Ami, watching her slowly fall asleep with a very small smile on her face.

Later

Ami ended up waking up and realizing she was hugging you in her sleep, which embarrassed her way too much but she decided to accept it anyways. Afterwards, you two went out for dinner, and on your way to this restaurant...

Y/N: "Where exactly are we going?"

Ami: "I thought you knew, I was following you."

You looked at Ami as she looks at you, raising an eyebrow while she smiled.

Y/N: "Seriously?"

Ami: "I'm being dead serious here."

Y/N: "Oh so it's like that then."

Ami: "Yep."

Y/N: "Great."

Even More Later That Same Day

So after messing around for a couple of minutes and getting a bit of unwanted attention, you and Ami finally agreed on a place that didn't seem like it demanded too much from your wallet, so when it came time to pay, you managed to do just that.

You left the restaurant with Ami telling you how grateful she was on the way back to the hotel, and although it was completely sarcastic, it felt nice hearing her say that.

Upon entering and then closing the door to the room, Ami turned and looked at you.

Ami: "What are you going to do tomorrow?"

Y/N: "Well, I think I'm going back home. I've already done what I had to do."

Ami: "I thought you were running an errand?"

Y/N: "I might have lied."

Ami: "Seriously?"

Y/N: "Yep, sorry. To be honest, I just wanted to see you again."

Ami: "That's fine, but you could've just been honest to begin with."

Y/N: "It would've been weird to say that I've been trying to figure out where you were for months."

Ami nods.

Y/N: "But yeah, today was fun."

Ami: "It was. Where are you sleeping?"

Y/N: "Here. Can I?"

Ami: "It'll be fun, so yes. Don't do anything weird while I'm sleeping."

Y/N: "We slept together earlier and I didn't do anything then."

Ami: "Whatever."

Wearing some very short shorts and a loose, dark blue tank top, Ami caught you glancing at her while you two were laying next to each other on bed.

Ami: "Stop staring at me."

Y/N: "We're adults, I thought we've gone past the 'kyaa, you perverted Y/N!' thing."

Ami: "First I never said that and never will. Second, it's still weird."

Y/N: "Fair. Can you turn off that lamp?"

Ami turned around and turned off the lamp on the nightstand, then she turned back to face you.

Y/N: "Now you won't see me staring at you."

Ami: "I'm gonna make you sleep outside."

Y/N: "I'm kidding. G'night."

Ami: "Goodnight."

And just like before, with her head resting on your chest and her arm wrapped around your waist, Ami ended up using you as a cuddle partner, which was the best feeling in the world for her, and the one she had been missing.

You being there with and for her again.
