Suvarna's POV.

Home! As the taxi sped on the roads of Delhi I could feel the warm sensation that homecoming brings with it.

This had been my first trip out of city in years and the very first ever out of country. Little did I know at that time that this trip will end up in me having another home- with Shishir.

A smile found it's way to stretch my lips at the very thought of the happenings of the past months. The smile broadened as I traced my engagement ring with the forefinger of my right hand. The friendship band with initials 'S.M' along with the bracelet of charms - my eyes softened as I gazed at them

Shishir I miss you so much already and It's been only about an hour since I landed!

The taxi honked once as it entered the bylane near my house.

Nanu had gone off with Shishir's grandfather to his village directly from the airport and Anuj bhaiya had also gone with them.

My aunty was not aware of him being with us as yet so it was perhaps better that Nanu took him along.

I had not really expected a welcome committee but did feel a pang when no one was there to receive me at all.

Vikram Bhayia, Paresh's older brother had insisted I go with them and he would drop me home but I had declined.

Finally they had hailed this pre-paid cab for me and seen me off.

Directing the taxi to halt in front of my house I got down and pulled then luggage inside the main gate with the drivers help.

I was already distracted when I thanked him for his help and he drove away. The house was quite-too quite.

Taking a deep breath I walked ahead trying to fight back the apprehensive feeling rising within me. Not all conversations had gone down well between me and Anju Mami over the months.

Stop over thinking Suvi. You have come back home and not to a prisoner camp! Nothing unexpected will happen.

I stopped walking before just reaching the door.

A lock?

Well yeah- this indeed is unexpected. They did know I was coming back today- alone. They had been aware Nanu wold be coming here only after a few days.

So what if no one is at home? I am sure it must have been something important that had made them all go out.

Well good thing about it is I can get into a skype chat with Shishir right away.

"Are you going to stare at that ugly rusted lock whole day?"

I spun around startled "Paresh??" I gaped at him in disbelief. What is he doing here?

"Suvi??" he mimicked my tone and pointed a finger at me.

I giggled. "You dimwit. I was not checking who you are. I am just surprised to see you here."

"I came to share chocolate with you." he said his tone dead serious and stretched his arm forward. I had to squint to see the tiny bit between his fingers. I stared at it as he placed it on my palm.

"Pushy a raisin will be bigger than this piece!"

"You mean a kiss miss?" he grinned and I had to giggle and stab him playfully with my elbow.

"Don't be greedy girl. Feel privileged I am sharing."

"Yeah it is more than a wrapper." I said and managed to place it on my tongue without it slipping out of my fingers.

"How is it?"

"My tongue is still trying to feel it's presence." I retorted and opened my purse to fish out my set of keys. Thank Goodness I have it with me! "Prema called you isn't it?" I asked suddenly realising why he was here.

He shrugged "She did not want you to be alone after coming back home Suvi and neither did I when I got to know your family is away attending some marriage party. Prema had to urgently go for her classes or she would have been here she said." These two had always made my life easier by their thoughtful gestures.

"I will pull in your luggage then you can feed me." I heard Paresh say from behind.

I ran my eyes around my empty home. "Welcome home Suvi." I said softly to myself swalling the lump that formed in my throat.

A big envelope on the side cupboard near the door caught my attention and on checking I saw it had my name on it.

I stared at it as I read the address. My father's hotel address! It had been re directed to my home address.

What could it be? With hands trembling I slowly lifted the brown envelope up.

"What is it Suvi?" Pushkar asked as he came inside and set my luggage on one side.

"I don't know." I said and showed him the envelope. "Should I open it ?" he asked me softly and I nodded and handed it to him.

After five minutes I was reeling with shock.

I have been served a notice of adapting illegal means to take possession of my father's hotel?

"Subi don't worry. We will get this sorted in no time." Paresh said as he flipped over the document.

Just then the doorbell sounded announcing the arrival of another document. "You open it." I said and pushed it towards him.

"This is a fresh one. Dispatched just today and delivered on high priority!" he said tearing it open.

All of a sudden a strange expression of shock took ovder his face.

"What happened?" I asked my heart sinking.

"Nothing." He was quick to cover up whatever it was. "I will just be back okay?" he said moving towards the door.

"Paresh! What is it?" I asked failing to keep the tremble out of my voice.

He turned in my direction and pulled me in a hug. "Nothing that cannot be handled." He said firmly and planted a quick kiss on my forehead and stepped out "I will be back in a few minutes."

What is the matter with him? I tugged at my luggage and slowly took them to my room. After a few minutes I felt too restless to wait any longer.

I dialed Shishir for a video call.

Shishir's POV.

"So you are off to meet your sweetheart?" Danny teased me and I mock frowned at him.

"I am off to supervise a high profile case."

"Of course it is a sheer coincidence that it happens to be in the same city as where your sweetheart lives."

I grinned at him "An open and shut case. The opposite party is very evidently a fraud."

"Which basically means they stand no chance against you." he grinned back "When is Suvarna coming back?" he asked. "I know she boarded the plane just yesterday but I already miss her."

That is how magical my woman is. Wins hearts effortlessly.

I sighed "I don't really know." I said verbally. Very soon if I can have it my way I told myself silently.

"Did you tell her about you visiting Delhi?"

"No." I said beaming happily "I will surprise her. I will tell Paresh and no one else for now."

As soon as Danny stepped out of my office I fished out my phone and called Paresh for a video. I could hardly contain my excitement.

Busy!

Who the hell is he calling? They must have reached Delhi only a short while ago.

I smiled when after a few seconds his name flashed on my screen. Grinning broadly I answered the video call.

"Paresh! I am coming to Delhi!" I said right away.

"I know." he said and I looked at him in surprise.

"You do?"

He had an expression that I could not identify yet. "Is all well Paresh?" I asked him. He looked away for a few moments before looking back towards me.

"Bhaiya I know you do not like to read the name of the opposition before studying the case history."

"That is right. I don't want to be biased in my opinion just incase it is a known person."

"Make an exception this time. For me."

"Which case are you talking about?"

"The one in Delhi."

How does he know I have a case in Delhi?

I frowned at his serious tone but did as he wanted me to.. "I flipped through the papers "Okay here it is-"

I felt my body vitals standstill

Suvarna Sharma.

"So basically bhaiya, you are coming to Delhi to prove her fraud and throw her out of the hotel premise.

I closed my eyes feeling the world spin around in a rapid split second moment. I had urgently got some documents delivered through the client in Delhi.

Little did I know then I was dispatching disaster.

"Suvi?" I managed to breathe out somehow.

"She does not know yet." Paresh said gently.

That is when I noticed he had called me from just outside her house He must have been there when these fresh documents were received.

"Bhaiya." he said and I looked up feeling dejected.

"We will figure out some way."

"We have to." I said softly

After disconnecting the call I leant back on my chair feeling completely drained out.

The phone rang again and I glanced at it wearily intending to disconnect the call.

I froze when I saw the name.

She is calling me. Her first call after returning home and I have already messed up.

I will set it right. I don't know how but I will- I have to.

She is not yet aware I remembered Paresh saying.

"Hey fiancée." She bubbled smiling as soon as I answered and her face came into view.

My heart started summersaulting in my chest.

"Missing me?" she asked and I smiled "You cannot imagine how much."

"Shishir there is something I need to share." She said and my heart squeezed in my chest.

I heard her relate how some papers had been delivered and the details. I felt a rage take over me. I was a part of her tormentors now.

"A fresh set of document was just delivered but I have not yet seen them. Paresh took off as soon as he read them. Something is not right Shishir."

I looked away. Oh my love.

"Luckily I just received an email of what I am assuming must be the soft copy of the same papers."

My head reeled at her words.

The soft copy I always insist on being sent to be double sure!

"Shishir don't look so worried dear. With you by my side I know I have nothing to worry." She smiled her trust and love reflecting in her eyes.

I felt destroyed at this moment.

"I have taken a print out of the mail but not yet read it. I will read it in front of you. I will feel braver with you in front" she said picking up a sheet "You will give me strength even with this distance. You are my biggest support." She whispered and I just gazed at her feeling helpless like never before.

She smiled as she looked at the paper and her eyes roamed to the bottom of the sheet.

Her face stilled her eyes focussed on bottom corner of the document. Slowly she raised her eyes to mine.

I had hoped never to see this expression on her face ever again. I had seen it once before. When her parents plane had met with the mishap.

Her strength never fails to amaze me. This time too she was stronger than me. "When are you coming?" She asked me.

"In two days." I said not able to keep out the choking sensation out of my voice.

"I love you." she said softly.

"I will not fail you love."

"I know. I have faith in you. Always did. Always will."

Pre cap Chapter 97.

Suvarna's POV.

I hid when I saw the two men approaching him. I perhaps should not have come to the airport to pick him up.

I should have known his clients would be here to receive him.

Wearily I trudged towards my car and opened the door and sat behind the steering wheel.

At the sound of the passenger door opening my head snapped in the direction and I gasped as Shishir sat in and grinned at me.

My heart thudding I just gazed at him "Shishir! Those men! Your-"

"Shh" he said tenderly laying a finger on my lips "I will not cheat on my profession but my priority is and always will be -you."

He opened his arms and I happily leaned into a warm hug.

See ya next time guys.
