Hey guys. Updating this chapter once again since some of you mentioned about being confused after reading this. Please ensure you have read  the previous chapter..chapter 85 before this.. and this one before chapter 87..a lot will make more sense.. rest..will clear as the mystery solves ..very soon!

Before you start reading guys remember we are dealing with people who have been lawyers for generations, so it is natural for them to encounter hard core criminals and also face situations that may seem too frightening.

Narrative POV.

Short distance from Shishi's apartment.

A man with salt and pepper hair pushed the heavy door of the dainty old room and entered with an irritated scowl on his face.

The door screeched open and the damp smell of the old cellar hit him. The scrubby boy who sat near the door got up with a start and almost started trembling at his sight.

Allen smirked, his ego boosted by the youngster' s. The laddie was scared of him. He liked it. When they are new they are all scared. It's only when they hang around for longer they get ideas and turn into over smart buggers.

Like Toddy, he thought to himself grimly.

"What is your name laddie?" Allen asked trying his best to make his sqeaky voice sound as manly as he could.

"Stuart." The lad stammered.

"Like Stuart little? The mouse?" Allen laughed at his attempt of cracking a joke. He patted the scared looking Stuart's back "Keep up the good work laddie."

Placing his dripping umbrella on the stand he narrowed his eyes on his companion Toddy.

"My, my some people have such fun and easy job." He commented, sarcasm dripping from his voice.

Toddy snapped his eyes open and sat up straight in his chair.

"They sure do Allen. You sure have the best job of loitering around aimlessly  and poking nose in other's business." Toddy retorted equally irritated at his situation.

"Loitering around??" Allen boomed going red in the face. "I do all the hard work outside braving the worst of weather while you relax and do the easy task."

"Easy task?!" Toddy spluttered. Before he could rant further Allen interjected.

"Sorry my bad." Allen said raising his hands in mock defeat. "You don't do the easy task you basically do nothing. It's been almost a week since we docked our boat in the harbour and still you have no concrete information! The only thing that you have managed to find out is that the harbour has some information within it."

Allen proceeded to place his heavy butt on a rickety chair. When the chair creaked it's protest on the heavy weight Toddy gave a smug look hoping it would buckle under the weight of the sarcastic tub of lard in front of him.

"I do have some news for you today." Toddy said smirking.

"You do?" Allen sat up slightly, his pot belly waggling as he shifted his heavy backside making the chair creak dangerously.

Toddy nodded and continued with a wicked grin on his face "Danny's mother is mad at him and locked him up in the attic without food or water for almost an hour."

"What?" Allen stood up lifting his fat butt up so suddenly that the chair fell backwards and some splinters of the rotten wood flew around.

Toddy nodded and tried hard not to laugh at Allen's expression. "Danny was locked up in an attic?"

"He had pushed Ravi while running to sit in his car." Toddy said beginning to enjoy this now.

"Who's Ravi?"

"Danny's next door neighbour."

Allen's face scrunched up in confusion, his already red face going a shade darker.

Before he could manage to think of saying something more Toddy continued "In another development Anna's housewarming party was sabotaged by Christy." He leaned back on his chair and pushed his headset back slightly from his ears.

"Who are they now?" Allen asked his eyes going wide.

"Ron's wives."

"Both of them?" Allen asked his eyebrows arched up on his plump red face "And who is Ron?"

"He is the husband." Toddy chuckled wickedly at Allen "From 'Sharing is caring so we share our husband.'"

Allen's jaw dropped open "Sharing is caring so we share our husband???' he said as he began to bend in a sitting posture. His fat backside wobbled in the air when it contacted nothing and he toppled backwards falling with a loud clatter on the already fallen chair..

He glared at Toddy who burst out laughing on seeing him sprawled clumsily on the ground. Getting up he rubbed his butt trying to ease the pain and asked again. "What the hell is all this gibberish and who are these people?"

Allen took out his phone and started punching on it.

"What are you doing?" Toddy asked suddenly alarmed.

"I need to inform Poppa about this, so many new people in the harbour." Allen continued to type . "Where is Danny now?"

Toddy looked away quite worried by now. He had not thought about Poppa being involved or informed about all this.

"Um that we will know in the next- episode."

Allen nodded not looking up. "Okay-" Allen stopped typing thinking back what Toddy had just said. "What?"

"We will get to know about Danny in the next episode of 'The red kettle calling the blue pot black.'"

"Episode?" Allen loomed up, as tall as his stout frame of five feet few inches would allow him to, and waddled up to Toddy his paunch heaving up and down as he breathed in hard.

"Um yeah- I was telling you what I hear through that headphone." Toddy said defensively, clutching at his headphones. "I swear since last three days almost entire time I get to hear only the crap of sob soap sagas that the television shows are."

"So this Danny who was locked up was not the Lawyer Danny? It's a fictional character?" Allen asked taking another step towards Toddy.

Toddy nodded "The harbour has been seeing a rough patch of weather since last few days-"

"You mean after the-" Allen said slowly a happy expression taking over his face. "Oh my God! That means our mission the other night was not a total failure! It's RIP."

He rubbed his hand in glee "Poppa will be pleased." Then he looked at Toddy with a different expression "Are those really the names of shows 'The red kettle calling the blue pot black' and – what was that about sharing a husband?"

"Sharing is caring so we share our husband '- yeah those two are the top of chart shows right now." Toddy said shivering at the memory of the torture he had been facing since last few days. Daily soaps- just their memory could trigger a nightmare.

A set of noises from through his headphones made him sit up. "The boat is rocking!" he blurted to Allen and turned some knobs so Allen could hear everything on speaker.

"T - Rex along with Kangaroo is setting the harbour into activity!" Allen's eyes glinted.

Shishir's POV.

I removed the headsets from my head as my phone buzzed. Officer Smith. Why is he calling now? He better be calling with some good news about taking the Device out of my Suvi.

"Hello Officer." I said grimly into the phone. I frowned at his question.

"What do you mean where is she? She is cooped up in her room because your incompetent team has still not managed to figure out a way to get the device out of her!" I snapped beyond irritated at the situation.

My Suvi was suffering so much and I was not able to make her feel better.

"Okay fine. I will go and check on her." I disconnected the phone and got up. Suvi had been reading a book when I left her room a few minutes back-

The door to my study opened before I could turn the knob – and my mother walked in.

I don't know if I was more shocked or taken aback at this moment. Before I could react she entered the room and shut the door behind her.

"Why did you do this Shishir?" she asked me almost like an accusation.

"What did I do?" I asked trying to fight my disappointment. Why do I keep hoping even after so long that she might be caring about me? "Anyway whatever it is I don't have the time to hear right now." I said trying to walk past her.

"He has fallen ill because of your actions. Don't you think he is already suffering enough for his past actions?" she blurted as her eyes filled with tears.

"Who are you talking about?" I asked quietly stopping on my track.

"Aditya!"

I fisted my palm tightly.

Right him. As usual.

"You went to meet him two days back and said all those hateful things to him- how could you Shishir? You know he is not a bad person." She continued her onslaught on my already shredded heart that had seen me grow up with the hope of love from my mother.

"Even I had begun to think he has changed, so I even helped him clear his name in his last case. But I should have known he can never change. The ungrateful chameleon." I gritted out between teeth trying to fight back the pain in my chest.

"Shishir!"

"If he had been so good as you claim him to be then he would have helped me -" I stopped short. I did not want to give out too much details to her. "-On a case that I am working on."

"Shishir he genuinely may not have been able to or I am sure he would have helped you with- what Suvarna is going through." She said looking away.

I froze.

"How do you know I went to meet him about Suvi?"

"I assumed. It has to be your worry about her that made you shout at him. Do you know a doctor had to be brought in to see him? He has been down with high fever because of the shock and could not even get up to meet me."

"How do you know about Suvi?" I said not wanting to hear her go on about how badly Aditya is faring because of me.

"Paresh called me." she said looking at me.

"Paresh??" I was shell shocked.

"At least there was someone who had the good sense to tell me about it. Who knew I could help out in this situation." she looked on towards me "RIP –Ribosome inactivating protein. One of the deadliest poison- a natural plant extract from castor beans." Her eyes challenged me as I stared at her.

"You tend to forget your mother is a microbiologist. A PhD in natural plant extracts."

My phone rang again stopping me from answering her. Officer Smith again. Why cannot he pay attention on his job better and let me sort things my way?

"Hello? What do you mean you can see her down stairs in the open? Stop imagining things. Suvi is resting in her room."

"She was stepping out with her grandfather and yours just as I was coming in. I think she was reluctant- Shishir!" My mother said. I did not bother to stop or listen to her any more.

I rushed towards Suvi's room blood pounding in my ears as the deadliest of scares invaded my chest. I felt my hand tremble as I turned her door knob.

When the empty room greeted me my senses almost got paralyzed as I stood there for a split second.

I saw the bathroom door was ajar and my heart sank further knowing she was not in there. I dialed her number with hope still alive in my heart.

My heart almost stopped when her phone rang few feet away from me, placed at her bedside table.

"Shishir why are you getting so worked up? It's -" My mother's voice from behind me snapped me out of my stance and I felt a maddening anger take over me

"Had you not delayed me with your crap talk about your darling Aditya I would have stopped her!" I yelled not caring about her shocked expression and dashed out

Suvarna's POV.

Fifteen minutes before what happened in Shishir's study.

I looked at our grandfathers helplessly.

I cannot go out! I wish I could somehow tell them what was going on but I cannot risk the gangsters knowing we have out they have inserted something in me.

Two stubborn old men. How do I deal with them?

I know they mean well and are worried but how do I tell them what is going on.

If I try to write down and they blurt out before understanding then it would complicate matters.

"Suvarna get up now." Nanu said pulling up my hand.

"I am really not feeling up to it." I tried again but Nanu had pulled me up on my feet by now.

Not knowing what to do I fished out my mobile.

I started typing on my mobile trying to explain to them in short but Nanu snatched it from my hand.

"Suvarna don't try to message Shishir." He said misunderstanding and pulled me towards the door after placing the phone on my bedside table.

"You need some fresh air and my overprotective grandson is just being over protective about you after you accident at the Mall."

***

I looked around in panic as they made me step out of the apartment's premise. I had just moved a few paces when I froze at a sound not far behind me.

Heart pounding crazily I turned around and gulped when I came face to face with a stranger. There was something about him that made me cringe in fear. His eyes perhaps, they were so cold and grey- almost like ice cubes.

"Poppa has been waiting for you little one." He said as his face split in the wickedest grin that seemed to chil me to my bones.

Okay so I will not ask if the chapter was a good read because  I know it was full of facts that will confuse!

The first part is of course a scene about the people who are monitoring Suvi. The m=names of the shows and the scenes are totally my imagination, LOL!

There are some clues there that of course I will clarify over the next few chapters. Do stay tuned. Don't worry at the end of it it will not look as jumbled up!

Do you think Shishir is over reacting with Aditya and is being harsh on him?

And did any of you think his mother would be holding key to how to work around RIP?

I know you all do not want me to stop here but I will be back as soon as I can with the next part!

Fingers crossed about my laptop, if things work out my way I will update very very soon.

Please do vote and comment.

I think a lot lesser of you are getting to know about my update. Could it be possible because since last few times my tweet about the update did not get RT by the FC? (It's a great FC one of the best but I guess these days a bit less active.)

So guys please do add my book to your library/ reading list so that you do not miss out on the updates.

Thank you to all who have liked and RTed my tweet and also shared it. It means the world to me.

I need a suggestion from you all. Do you think more people will get to know if I create a thread in India Forums about my book and share the link there after each update?

Apologies about this longish note, but I really would love your suggestions about this.

Love, from me to you.

Pre cap Chapter 87.

Suvarna's POV.

I think from extreme fear stems the feeling of numbness and a state when you feel no fear. I am not sure what it was right now but I did not like being cornered like this.

If he wants to pull the trigger let him. I had enough of this cat and mouse game and having my deepest privacy invaded.

What do you think Suvi will do?

Buh bye till next time!
