Suvarna's POV.

We stood there locked in each other's embrace for what seemed like a long time. The ring was not the deciding factor of our relationship.

Both of us were aware that our hearts and our deep bond that had withstood so many storms were what bounded us to each other.

However this gesture did hold a symbolic significance. It was not something that would be the changing factor of what we were- are- and always will be to each other, but it did bring with itself a sense of completion. .

"You were always mine." Shishir's whisper caressed my ear as he echoed my thought and a blissful sigh escaped me.

"Always." I breathed in agreement into his chest as his hands continued to mould me to him.

I felt him shift his hold as he pulled slightly apart and lifted me gently before placing me on top of a side table and brought his face close and rested his forehead on mine.

"Nothing matters to me more than you, or your happiness." I smiled at his words.

"I feel the same." I confessed, slightly fazed by his talks. Shishir never talks so much about his intense feelings. His actions speak more for him and make up for what he lacks saying in words.

"The years we were apart, there was a void- however no one but you had the power to fill in that void."

Today he seemed in a bare his heart mood and this was a new experience.

I knew what he meant, it had been exactly how I had felt too.

"We both reached out to each other, in our own ways." He whispered and I could only nod in response.

Something was up. I could sense it but was unable to place my finger on it as yet.

I let out a sharp squeak when he suddenly changed positions and picked me up and turned me around a bit with my back now leaning on his hard chest.

His arms came around and caged me to him as he rested his chin on my shoulder. It felt like I was drowning in the overwhelming feeling of being so close to him.

"Suvi?"

"Hmmm?" I responded, leaning back a bit more into him with my eyes closing on their own accord.

"Did you take money from your family to buy those gifts for me?"

My eyes opened wide in surprise. "No!" I almost snapped and tried to turn myself to face him. He must have intercepted my movement for his hands around me tightened making movement impossible.

"You earned it, right my love?" his voice was gentle, his fingers rubbing against my hands as he tried to sooth my now irritated mood.

How can he even think like that?

"Shishir -" my tone held a warning.

Why is he bringing this up? That too now of all times? The moment had been so perfect, why is he trying to ruin it?

"Don't over think. Just answer the question." His voice was insistent.

"Yes." I breathed out, my teeth gritting in irritation.

"And correct me if I am wrong, you missed a lot of meals in school during lunch breaks and often walked long distances to save money instead of buying food or spending on fare?" he rested his face on my shoulder, his cheek touching mine.

I gulped as a chill ran through me. He had seen through my well kept secret. No one, not even Paresh and Prema ever found out about this, for I had been careful about it.

"I don't want to talk about this." I said quietly.

I felt his lips brush against my head as he planted a soft kiss. "I know you my Suvi, even if you do not talk about it."

I kept quite not wanting to respond.

"Don't you think this is going a bit overboard? Earning at such an young age and skipping meals, walking to save fare and I am sure you never bought any treats for yourself- all this just to connect to someone who was not even a part of your life at that point of time."

I felt my temper boil "It was my wish, something that I wanted to do. And Shishir, for me, we were always connected, even when there had been no interaction."

I was not liking to talk about this, and above all hated that I was not able to see his face while speaking about something like this.

"And it felt right? Doing something which the world would obviously frown upon, if they would get to know?" he continued his onslaught.

"What the hell?" I felt my voice raise a bit. "I don't give a damn about what the world would have said or thought. No one had any right to anyways, it was my wish and none of anyone's business or right to have an opinion about!"

"Then, my love why are you contradicting your own self?" I heard an edge in his voice and he suddenly turned me around, and my feet hit the ground with a jerk.

I inhaled sharply, not from the suddenness of the movement, but from the intense look in his eyes.

"What?" I managed to ask, not able to tear my eyes away from his. No sooner had I uttered the word I knew what he was trying to explain- his Will and making me his sole beneficiary.

"I did that same, my Suvi . My thoughts, reasons were same over the years. I may have felt anger and a sense of betrayal due to my ignorance, but for me, my heart was always connected to you." he said softly cupping my face with his palms.

"Thinking about you, brought in so much pain." He said his eyes darkening and my heart ached at the pain he must have felt over the years we had been separated. "But not thinking about you was like killing a part of me." he lightly traced his thumb over my lips and I had to suppress a shiver.

"You spent your every penny towards me my love, even went through hardships to save money at that young age when you were a teenager, then how can my making everything I have yours be wrong?" his eyes reflected so much love when he looked at me that I almost cried out.

"It is never about how much my love, it is always the thought, the emotion behind our actions that matter." His gaze roamed my face as he continued to whisper and bare his heart to me.

I lifted my hand to touch his cheek and he turned his face so that his lips touched my palm and planted a soft kiss and gave me a smile that melted me.

He made it seem so right. It was all about how we were to each other, what we meant to each other and not what the society or people thought about our actions.

I pulled him in a hug and immediately his hand was back around me caging me to him.

"You are like a cobra, setting it's eyes on its target." I murmured "You always make your point."

I felt his chest vibrate as a soft chuckle left him "You think I am a poisonous snake?" He pulled away slightly and tried to look serious and offended, but the twinkle in his eyes gave him away.

I nodded smiling "Deadliest one. Your victims stand no chance of surviving. No wonder you have the reputation you do, in the courtroom."

His expression grew serious "You do understand what I am trying to say, don't you my love?"

I gazed back at him "How can I not, when you make it sound so right?"

"I did not make it sound right, it is right. You are the only one that matters to me."

His lips found mine stalling any further conversation, crushing me to him. I lifted my hands to his hair, running my fingers through them, the way I knew he loved.

Shishir's POV.

I could not knock out the smile from my face. I know it must be making me look goofy but I don't care.

My woman had my ring on her finger and-

"You think we should send him for counselling?" I heard Paresh's voice and the smile turned into a frown.

"He has been acting strange." Danny agreed and my frown deepened. When did he come?

I glared at the two, who had interrupted my happy thoughts. "What are you two talking about? And Danny what are you doing here at this time?"

"I have been invited for dinner." He grinned at me and I shook my head trying not to smile. Ever since Suvi had come to London Danny had become so much more than a good friend and a senior at work.

My girl always wins hearts I thought and my smile broadened as Suvi entered the living area just then.

"Oh my God!"Paresh yelled and ran to her and lifted her left hand making her blush. "You proposed!" he said looking at me.

"Finally!" Danny said grinning as he went towards Suvi and pulled her into a hug. My heart warmed up at the sight. He is genuinely fond of her.

Danny came over to me and pulled me into a 'man hug' patting my shoulder once. Paresh continued to jump and gush looking at Suvi's ring making me chuckle.

With her he almost becomes like a female friend, bonding and getting as excited as a girl would be.

Just then my phone rang and I saw it was an unknown number. "Hello?" I answered moving away slightly. My brows scrunched on hearing what Sister Susan had to say. There had been traces of slight drugs in Suvi's blood, hinting she had been made unconscious on purpose.

Why would anyone do that?

I had just disconnected the call when Charles came in "Mehrotra, the officers who had wanted to ask Suvarna about the incident at the Mall are here."

I nodded and asked Charles to escort them to my study. They had wanted to question her at the hospital but she had not regained consciousness at that point of time so I had requested them to do it later.

Since the officer in charge was known to me, he had agreed.

Suvarna smiled at me reassuringly and I smiled back as she entered my study with Paresh and Danny following her.

"Hello. I am officer Greg smith and this is my junior Craig Johson." Both the men stood up and shook hands with her before settling back.

"So, Miss Sharma what did you see at the Mall?" Smith asked right away.

"Nothing much. I heard a commotion and realised some armed men were there. They had masks on so I could not see their faces. While I was trying to make a phone call one of them came from behind and put his gun on my forehead-"

I felt my blood freeze. A gun had been aimed at her? I felt my temper rise at myself remembering she had tried to call me.

"So as soon as he had put his hand over your mouth, one of the other armed boys had accidentally fired a bullet on the electrical board and started a fire?" I heard Johnson's voice.

The two officers exchanged a look and Smith turned towards me "Our investigations have led us to the conclusion that it was not just a case of armed men to rob or terrorize people to get their way. This whole set up was targeted towards them wanting to reach out- possibly kidnap a particular target."

"The breaking of fire disrupted their plan." Johnson said quietly.

"Miss Sharma, from our questioning the youngsters and from what you have shared, it seems very likely, you had been the target.

"Why would someone want to kidnap me?" Suvi gasped.

"We were hoping you would be able to give us some details on that." Smith said glancing at me before looking back at Suvi.

"I have no clue!" Suvi said as I sat and stared at the officers in complete shock.

"Maybe there is a mistake?" Danny said getting up from his chair and moving to stand in front of the officers, his jaw clenched.

"Does not seem likely and we do not want to take chances." Smith said his face going hard. He was a senior officer and very good at his job. He did not like to be told he or his department might have made a mistake.

"The men are not from the world of crime, they are freshers. They said their instructions had been to not harm the woman and just escort her out of the mall." Officer Johnson interjected.

"What are your plans now officers?" I asked.

"We will arrange for a security for her for now, just to keep an eye on what is happening." Smith said as the two officers stood up.

I watched as Danny escorted them out along with Pushkar. I knew they would as them more details and set everything up.

I walked upto Suvi who was sitting looking shocked.

Putting my arms around her I squeezed her shoulder "Suvi, don't worry love. I will not let anything happen to you. I will find out what is going on."

I hope the chapter has been a good read. I know the beginning and the later part of the chapters are total contrasting in emotions but this had to be brought in!

And if you have not already guessed, Pracji Sharma's case is coming up! It was certainly not a random incident at the Mall!

Please vote and comment guys.

Love, from me to you.:)

Pre cap Chapter 83.

Shishir's POV.

Last two days I have not let Suvi venture out of the apartment block without me. But I have not been able to shake off the uneasy feeling that someone is keeping an eye on our movements.

How are they getting informed? I have not seen anyone approach or try anything funny but something is certainly up and the officer in charge of her security, also seems to think so.

How are they managing to intercept Suvi's location each time?

Enjoy guys!

Buh bye till next time.

P.S Till the 30th of June, I am not sure about the frequency of my updates. I will try to update whenever possible.
