Suvarna's POV.

"Shishir!"

"Shishir ?"

"Mphh-"

"Shishir. Shishir. SHISHIR !"

"Mphh-Khi-Khi-"

I directed my attention from chanting the name of most infuriating man in the universe to the one who was making these weird noises- Paresh!

"Paresh, don't you dare laugh!" I warned him.

He shook his head "mphh-" and gave me a 'thumbs up.'

Silly brother of a sillier man!

"Shishir !" I continued feeling more pissed by the minute.

"Suvarna he is ignoring you." Danny stated the obvious and earned himself a glare. He grinned at my expression and I glared harder.

"Fine. I will also ignore him." I declared and slumped down on the couch.

How can he- how dare he ignore me? That too just because I had been trying to make him say where we are going today.

I agree bolting the bathroom door from outside when he was inside or holding his hand when he was trying to eat might have been slightly extreme, but then one has to take drastic measures in such situations!

I love surprises but I don't like having to wait for them!

The man in question got up from where he was sitting on the other side of the couch and approached closer and I tried my best to ignore him.

If only he did not look so good today, it would have been easier.

And that height. One cannot even steal glances without upturning the neck and getting caught in the process!

"Let's go." Announced the incorrigible man and I turned my face away.

I am not getting up. Certainly not!

I steeled myself on my resolve when he leaned towards me. Oh the cologne-

No Suvi! You are ignoring him!

I fisted my palms together so that he cannot hold them. I almost gasped at him when he picked up a cushion from beside me and patted it back to position and straightened up and walked towards the door.

Why the tease!

I caught Danny's grin and frowned at him. Right, I am being ignored.

I looked at Paresh and he was busy giving loving glances to the packet of food in his hand. Silly fellow!

Grudgingly I got up on my own. Only because I want to see Europe I told myself firmly.

Once we were out of the suite almost immediately I felt an arm go around my waist and I turned to glare at the owner of the arm only to find I was still being ignored.

Okay fine. Let the arm stay. It feels good-

No! I am letting him hold me because I don't want to get lost. It certainly does not feel good.

He guided me effectively out of the hotel and even held the door of the hired car open for me. "Will you  stop being so nice and sweet while you are ignoring me?" I snapped at him and he chuckled.

I narrowed my eyes at him as he sat down beside me. Paresh sat next to him on the other side while Danny sat in the passenger seat next to the driver and we were off- to God knows where!

***

My heart danced in anticipation as we entered the railway station. One look at the silver and blue, sleek bullet train made me turn and hug the man who once again had his hand around my waist.

"I don't know where we are going but I love it already." I told him truthfully.

I felt like a child entering a theme birthday party as the train started moving! The country side is beautiful!

After over two hours journey over lush countryside and quaint villages we got down. I read the board- Gare De Dijon Ville.

Dijon!

Before I could completely get over my happy surprise Pushkar's shrill ring tone erupted. When he frowned at the caller ID my heart sank.

I was almost certain who the caller was and when he looked nervous and walked away a bit further from us I had no doubt.

Raghunath Uncle.

Paresh works under him in Delhi- as soon as this thought came into my mind my heart almost skipped beat.

From Shishir's stiff posture beside me I knew he has also guessed it. I closed my eyes, suddenly all happy feelings evaporating.

I do not want them to fall victim to someone's manipulation and be pitted against each other in the court room!

Shishir's POV.

I should have expected this. Papa is going to do every possible thing he can to make me change my mind.

I am certainly not going to change my mind, but I am also not going to let Paresh suffer because of this.

Few minutes later Paresh joined us and confirmed what I had already realised.

"He says he has an important case coming up in London and wants me to handle it upfront!" Paresh said sounding confused as well as excited.

Obviously Papa had not given him the details of the case or who he would be up against- assuming he is talking about Aditya's case.

"I can hardly believe he is asking me to assist him here in London." Paresh gushed happily oblivious to the trap he had walked into. I smiled at him, not wanting to dampen his spirit.

I stepped forward and gave him a side hug "Congratulation! I am sure you are going to rock it."

I saw Suvi's face and realised she has also guessed it. Our eyes met and locked for a few seconds in understanding.

Paresh has been working hard and trying his best to be in Papa's good books ever since he joined work with him. Papa has always guided him well and ensured he learns in the best possible way.

Though right now what Papa is planning is beyond me to even comprehend.

I put my arms around Suvi's shoulder and pulled her close to my side. She beamed at Paresh "Pushy I am so proud of you." she said trying to sound cheerful, which I knew could not be easy for her.

Danny thumbed on his back and shook his hand and cheerfully congratulated him. He of course has no idea of what the case is about.

"Where are we going first?" Paresh asked beaming happily.

"Burgundy vineyard and also a cellar." I said and could not help but laugh at his enthusiastic response.

The next few hours were fun filled. I had planned this surprise mainly for Suvi and was not going to let Papa's actions ruin this day.

I know she already is very uncomfortable with what is going on but I am going to do my best to not let her brood on that.

I had opted for the luxury sedan to take us to the vineyard and our Guide , Matt was a jovial fellow and in no time he had us engrossed in an amazing tour.

I smiled at Suvi's enthusiasm as we went around. She kept asking details much to Matt's delight.

"Suvi are planning to make Burgundy in Delhi." Paresh teased and Suvi  poked her tongue out at him and he laughed at her expression.

I felt a lump form in my throat. I know Paresh will be devastated once he gets to know the details of what Papa has in store for him.

I cannot but wonder how one man's immature actions had put both Suvi and me into a painful and tricky situation. Had it not been for Suvi's unflinching faith in me it would have been very difficult situation for me to face.

I feel my temper rise when I think of what she herself had to go through. As if that was not enough fate decided to twist our lives a bit more and Papa came up to mess things for us further.

He has already done a lot, but now I will not let him hurt Paresh. I sincerely hope he is not asking Paresh to assist him in Aditya's case against me, but somehow I feel that is exactly what he is planning to do.

No matter what, I will not let Paresh be hurt in all this. His career is just starting and he deserves good opportunities, but above all he needs to stay confident and positive. And this case threatens to make him lose both.

"You are not paying attention bhaiya!" Paresh's voice snapped into my thoughts and I looked at him.

"We are going to a cellar!" He said enthusiastically and I smiled.

For today I will not let those thoughts occupy my mind I thought determinedly as I tried to match Paresh's enthusiasm to visit one of the almost 250 cellars around here.

Suvi was also thrilled and I laughed at the face she made when Danny and Paresh asked her to 'sample' some wine.

Never the one to back out on a challenge she gulped down a bit and her expression was priceless!

When her eyes fell on Matt's hopeful expression she smiled and gritted out "N-iiice" for his benefit and I had to hold back my chuckle.

"Are we eating here?" Suvi asked when we stepped out of the cellar and when I confirmed it her excitement reflected on her face.

***

"Notre Dame? Same as 'hunch back of Notre Dame?" Suvi asked as he looked at the majestic Goliath Cathedral in front.

I laughed and shrugged my shoulder. I actually had no idea and had never thought of the two in the same line.

Matt who was still accompanying us happily confirmed Suvi's query and filled in the details of how the story was indeed based around this cathedral.

"Wow!" Suvi exclaimed as we toured it and saw th stained glass windows the famed owl among many other details.

"You must be tired." I told looking at Suvi. We had been walking for a good part of the day and her feet were bound to be hurting.

"Of course not!" she shot back indignantly and refused to rest. "I want to see as much as possible Shishir  of this amazing place." She demanded and I could not blame her.

This place was truly magical as it successfully maintained the charm of the bygone era. On her insistence we set of to see other places of interest of the city.

It was late evening by the time we boarded our train for the return journey.

"I am hungry." Paresh announced within few minutes of the train rolling out of the station.

"Glutton!" Suvi said and he scowled at her.

"I am a young man with healthy appetite." He retorted.

"Right, a healthy pigs appetite." Suvi teased.

"You are just jealous that you are not blessed with a good appetite." The brat said passionately making the rest of us burst out laughing.

I could not help but reach out and ruffle his hair. Despite his age he was still a baby at heart and equally clear hearted

Unperturbed he reached out for the packet of food and dug out a large pack of Potato wafers.

"Stay away!" He told Suvi fiercely as she tried to help herself to some wafers. She ignored him of course and helped herself to a hefty amount that she promptly shared with me and Danny.

That triggered off Paresh and her into a regular spat With Paresh trying his best to keep the packet out of her reach and Suvi determinedly trying to flinch from it.

Danny and I exchanged amused glances.

"Do you have any idea of what case your father may be wanting Paresh to assist him on?" Danny asked sitting down next to me.

For a moment I considered If I should tell him about my father planning to take up Aditya's case against me. Then I decided against it. He has not yet filed the case after all.

"I am not sure. He does not discuss case details outside the professional boundaries." I said evasively.

This was true, only this time he was complicating a lot of relationships within his professional tryst.

When we got down at the Paris Station all of us were really tired but happy after having spent a fruitful day at the amazing city of Dijon.

"Happy?" I asked Suvi as she snuggled close to me on the car on our way back to the hotel.

"Loved it." She said smiling at me as she leaned her head and lay it on my shoulder.

I hope the chapter has been a good read. And yes Raghunath does seem to be having another trick in his mind. How do you think Paresh will react once he realises the truth?
