Suvarna's POV.

I have the biggest grin on my face as I sit and watch television with the two Mehrotra brothers.

"Suvi! You are creeping me out."

"Seriously Suvi are you all right?"

"She is obviously not all right bhaiya. This has to be some mental disorder."

"Suvi. This is indeed weird. It's been close to two hours now. At least say something."

I turn my face to Shishir and blurt "Something." and continue to grin.

My grin broadens when I hear Shishir sigh and Paresh shout "There! Are you happy now bhiaya? She said 'something.'"

Shishir sighed audibly again, loudly, as he gets up and comes and sits next to me pulling me close. I offer him another broad grin before turning to stare back at the television screen. "Suvi, much as I love to see you happy, this is worrying. Since last almost two hours that grin has not left your face."

"Not even while watching a documentary about a crocodile's life cycle." Paresh piped in emphasising on the point.

"You did not stop grinning even when we put on a horror movie." Shishir said with a shake of his head.

I shrugged "So? I am happy." I said maintaining the grin on my face.

"Why are you so happy?" Paresh asked narrowing his eyes on me.

I picked up my phone for answer and punched a number on speed dial. I pointed at Shishir's phone with my eyes to Paresh as it lay in front of him on the centre table.

He frowned and lifted it up just as it started ringing. "Meri zindagi? Who's that?" He asked looking genuinely confused.

Now that knocked the grin right off my face and I glared at him. "What do you mean 'who's that?'" I hissed disconnecting the call.

I felt a hand on my cheek making me turn towards Shishir "You are happy about that?" he asked with a soft smile.

My features immediately softened as I nodded, feeling shy all of a sudden.

"Oh God! Bhaiya you wrote her name as 'Meri Zindagi?'" Paresh said sounding stunned.

I poked my tongue out at him, the grin back on my face.

"Oh God! You of all the people? What happened to my bhaiya who used to say romance is silly?" Paresh says shaking his head in disbelief.

Shishir shrugged his shoulder grinning but before he could answer his phone rang.

He frowned as he answered it "Hello?"

His frown deepened hearing whatever the caller was saying. "Are you sure?"

I and Paresh exchanged glances knowing that Shishir was really pissed with whatever was being told on the other side.

"No. I will look into it. Thank you." He says and hangs up and turns towards me and Paresh his frown in place.

"Why are you looking at us like that?" I asked feeling uneasy.

Even without a word uttered I somehow knew we were in trouble.

"Who called?" Paresh asked. From his face I knew he was having the same doubt as me.

"One of my informers." Shishir said with a straight face.

"Informers? You have informers working for you?" I ask in shock.

"Um -what information did you get?" Paresh asked and I nodded. Yes that is important to know.

"Have you two lost it completely?" Shishir erupted going red in the face, instead of answering.

"Oh crap! You found out!" Paresh said in dismay and I frowned in confusion till I realised what he was talking about.

Uh oh.

"Shishir- um - you don't understand." I said hesitantly. Damn! We were so sure we will not get caught on this one.

"Damn right Suvi! I DON'T understand." Shishir said glaring from me to Paresh.

"We - bhaiya - it's actually a brilliant plan of ours." Paresh blurted.

"Of course it is a brilliant plan. You two becoming Aditya's lawyers has to be the best plan ever." Shishir spat out angrily.

"Just for a day bhaiya. We have this under control. " Paresh said and I nodded in agreement .

"Yes Shishir we will resign tomorrow evening." I said trying to make him understand.

"Exactly Bhaiya! We will ditch him! That is the master stroke of our plan. Me as his lawyer and Suvi as my assistant, we can meet him easily and then once out of there first thing we do is resign as his lawyers." Paresh explains our plan excitedly.

"You think this is some sort of joke? Becoming someone's lawyer and then leaving the case? He could sue you, you senseless buggers!" Shishir said closing his eyes as if he was fighting for control.

"Shishir don't over react. All is under control."I repeat but he storms out of the room leaving a very uncomfortable Paresh and me behind.

Shishir's POV.

Of all the silly things to plan! These two are weirdest and most senseless of the lot.

They signed up as Aditya's lawyer just to have an easy access to meet him and then planned to resign right away!

Luckily I had my informers keeping a track of Aditya's doings and also issues connected to him.

Even Aditya is still not aware about his potential lawyers.

That is a good thing.

I dialled a number and made the necessary arrangements ensuring these two cannot implement their crazy plan.

It s good to have contacts to pull required strings when necessary.

Next morning I am met with two grumpy faces. It's obvious they already know their attempt to 'hire' themselves as fluke lawyers of Aditya has failed.

"Good morning." I wished them cheerfully.

No response

"So what's up?" I say trying not to smile in amusement at their adolescent conduct. It's beyond me to understand how these two manage to come up with craziest of ideas.

I am met with silence again.

"So you two will not talk to me?" I said not able to stop the smile from creeping on to my face now.

"Bhaiya this is not done!" Paresh burst out. "He manipulated me into being his friend and you did not even let me take revenge."

"Revenge?" I said raising my eyebrow. "That is your idea to take revenge?"

"Of course!" Paresh said his tone implying I am the unreasonable one here. "He would have been so grateful that I have taken up his case inspite of what he did to me. He would have felt guilty and apologised to me emotionally." He stops talking as if for effect of his narration "And - then - we would have given him the shock of his life and withdrawn as his lawyers. He would have been devastated."

I groaned as I covered my face with my palms. I looked at him after a few seconds. "You think this is some B grade movie where the 'villain' will be tamed with your silly drama?"

I looked at his face and I know immediately I have hit on target. "You two got this idea from a movie, did you not?" I asked looking from one to other. Suvi of course was still not talking to me.

"No! We may have got inspired by some scenes, but we planned it out ourselves." Paresh protested.

"Watch better movies." I said as I moved towards my pouting girl friend. I leaned down to plant a kiss on her forehead and she immediately walked away not letting me.

"Suvi!" I protested. "That was silly plan. Totally crazy."

She glared at me in response and turned her back. I smiled and tried to put my arms around her waist only to have my hand slapped away!

I sighed, not liking this silent treatment from her. "Suvi, you are being unreasonable. You seriously think you two could have pulled this off?"

She walked around me and went and sat beside Paresh.

"One smart brother you have Paresh! Rest of us are crazy." She said sarcastically.

God she really is pissed.

"I did not say that!" I said sitting down beside her. I longed to pull her to me and talk but I knew that would just infuriate her further.

"What are you two doing today?" I asked.

"We will-" Paresh started.

"Ask your informers to find that out for you." Suvi said angrily.

I had to stop myself from smiling. She looked really cute with her eyes flashing as she glared at me angrily.

At least she said that to me directly and stopped her silent treatment I thought to myself,

"Incase you two are planning to go and meet Aditya, forget it." I said leaning back on my seat.

They exchanged glances and I knew that was their exact plan. "Suvi you will not go!"

"I will."

"No you will not." I say beginning to get angry.

"I will. I most certainly will." She said stubbornly.

"Listen, I will keep you tied up if I have to but you will not meet him."

"Tie me up?" she said looking stunned. "My lawyer will drag you to court." She said pointing at Paresh who was looking amused at our discussion.

"Say something!"Suvi said hitting on Paresh's shoulder.

"Um yes. Yes. Yes. You will be dragged." Paresh said in a rush.

"Suvi I am serious. You take one step out of the house today I will bodily make you sit in my car and -"

"First you say you will tie me up then you say you will kidnap me! What are you, a goon? Just because I have your name as a Mafia in my contact list does not mean you turn into a Mafia member."

"Mafia?" Paresh chimes in.

"I have named him cucumber Mafia." Suvi tells a delighted looking Paresh.

I stride up behind her and before she realises put her on my shoulder and walk out of the door.

"Charles. Keep the car ready, with the ignition on and the passenger door held open." I speak into my phone as I put a shouting and objecting Suvi down on the elevator floor.

"Shishir Mehrotra! That is totally barbaric conduct!" She said struggling to free her hand from my grasp

I grinned at her expression.

"Stop smiling!" She said looking pissed.

"You are super cute when you are angry." I say successfully planting a kiss on hr foehead this time.

"And you are being a total jerk." She said.

"Totally." I agreed and winked at her.

Charles gave us an amused look as we reached my car. I smiled and held my hand out for the car keys.

I pushed Suvi lightly towards the passenger seat as I went and sat behind the steering wheel.

"Where are you taking me?" she asked narrowing her eyes at me.

I was about to say office but a face floated into my mind. Rahul's. No office is ruled out for now.

Then an idea struck me. "Do you want to go and meet Ben? The man who had those letters?" I asked.

"Your first house in London?" Suvi said obviously liking the idea. "Yes!"

Inspite everything I know I can take Suvi to Ben. He is not a bad man. Infact he has always been a good friend till this letter fiasco came into my notice.

Maybe after meeting and talking to Sumo he may give out some of the details we are looking for.

Ben looked surprised to see us, but as I had expected not unwelcoming.

"Hi Ben." I said without a smile.

":Good morning Shishir." He responded as he looked at Suvi with curiosity on his face.

"Suvi this is Ben." I said smiling at Suvi. "Ben she is Suvi- Suvarna . the friend who had written those letters."

I saw Ben' s smile falter a little as he looked at Suvi with a guilt ridden expression. "I am sorry." He said sounding sincere.

"Come in please." He says ushering us inside the house.

I take Suvi across the place showing the room I lived in along with other places. She had a soft smile as she ran her finger along everything as though she was trying to think about all that I had experienced.

After about thirty minutes Ben insisted we join him for tea and snacks. As we sat down I saw Suvi look at Ben a little uncomfortably. I frowned at her unease.

"Ben, can I ask you something?" She started and he looked up at her.

"Did you also receive any-" Suvi stopped as if looking for correct words to speak.

A look of realisation passed Ben's face. "The parcels?" He asked gently. "Yes, eight of them."

I looked from one to other in confusion. What parcels are they talking about?

"Don't worry I have them all. Unopened and intact." Ben said softly, looking down and not meeting Suvi's eyes.

"Can I see them?" Suvi asked softly.

"Of course! They are yours." Ben said.

I followed them not understanding what they were talking about.

Ben led us to his attic and pointed to one corner before he went out leaving us alone.

I saw some parcels and packages kept.

Suvi turned to me. "My birthday gifts to you, that I had sent every year for our eight birthdays apart from each other"
