Shishir's POV.

Continued from where it left in Chapter 31.

I read the words on the jar 'Tamarind paste.'

Shit! Did I just feed tamarind paste to Sumo?

I looked up and saw Pushkar shouting and jumping about and trying to keep the notebook away from Sumo's reach. I grinned to myself. He probably thinks Sumo is chasing him to snatch that notebook and is clueless about what she is really going to do.

"Pushy- stay still. I want put this lovely chocolate in your mouth" Suvi said sounding adorably sweet.

"You are sharing chocolate with me?" Paresh said looking stunned as he stopped jumping.

"Of course. Since you were the one to help your brother find it, you deserve it to be shared with."

"Even the idea was mine." Paresh said his voice holding pride. "I knew it would work as a miracle."

"A miracle it is." Suvi said as she pushed the over heaped spoon in his mouth. I closed my eyes for a moment.

I opened my eye to see as red faced Paresh, his face all scrunched up.

"gg-gggg gway-" I snickered at the sounds he was making as Suvi was shooting him a look that held not even an ounce of sympathy.

"Gwaaaaaaak." He breathed out his face going a dark shade of red as he squatted on the floor. Suvi was giving him a triumphant smile. She came back to where I was standing and took the bottle of water and went back to Paresh who was by now half lying on the floor continuing to make strange noises.

Suvi sat down and offered him the bottle and he threw the bottle away with screeching in a most hideous manner "gggggwwwaaak-"

"It's water you idiot. Drink it." Suvi said as she collected the bottle from where he had thrown it.

I sat down on a chair smiling at the whole scenario. And well since I am Paresh's brother I did get a video of all this.

"Poison- you gave me poison." Paresh moaned pitifully after he gulped a bit of the water. "I am going to die." He wailed loudly making me chuckle. He looked at me.

"You have my murder on camera? Good." He said poking his tongue all out trying to get rid of what must still be a hideous taste.

"YOU ARE GOING TO BE HANGED TILL DEATH" he shouted at Suvi, by now having got back his ability to talk.

Suvi grinned "You found the 'chocolate'" she air quoted. "Miracle as you called it."

He looked at me questioningly "Tamarind paste." I told him with a laugh.

"He fed it to you?" I heard Paresh ask Suvi. "Without checking?" Paresh probed.

Uh oh. I don't like the sound of it. Sure enough! I saw Suvi looking at me with a glint in her eyes and Paresh shot me a smug look.

"Suvi! No! I laughed as I stood up with the jar in my hand and out of her reach. She lurched towards me looking determined.

I laughed as she jumped around me trying to reach the jar.

"Found you at last!" The laughter filled voice reached my ears and I stilled as I saw the figure walk in .

"Ritz?" I asked as I saw who it was.

Suvarna's POV.

I looked around in surprise as a girl's voice reached my ears. Who is she? I did not hear the doorbell. I gaped in surprise as a very pretty tall girl came into my view.

Who the hell is she? Whoever she is Shishir seems mighty pleased to see her.

"Charles sister, Rita." Paresh told me helpfully as he came to stand next to me.

"Oh." Was all that left my mouth as the girl in question went on to hug Shishir.

"Missed you so much Sexy." She said smiling at Shishir.

Sexy?? I looked at Paresh who had an amused look on his face as he eyed the duo in front. I jabbed him on the rib with my finger. "Sexy?" I huffed at him in a whisper and the brat just shrugged. "That he is."

I looked back at the two who seemed totally delighted at catching up. I saw Shishir turn towards us and smile "Come I will introduce you to Suvi. " He said as he caught this girl by her hand and pulled her towards us. A simple gesture but not simple to me as I felt a pang on seeing their entwined hands.

Suvi you are over thinking, I told myself firmly that did nothing actually to calm me.

"You already know this brat here." Shisjir said as he laughed looking at Pushkar.

"Of course, your cousin, Pareshan- right?" she said smiling brightly at a now grumpy looking Pushkar.

"Paresh." He muttered to which the girl gave a small laugh. "Oh so sorry. I am really bad with names." She gave him a smile.

To Paresh's credit he did not return the smile fully but just gave a small polite 'lip pull' sort of smile.

But to Shishir's total discredit while this newcomer said this she clutched at his arm and he laughed with her and did not seem to mind. Infact he leaned forward and actually ruffled her hair!

"Always the worst to remember names Ritz." He said shooting her what looked to me a fond smile.

I had to curb a strong desire not to push these two into the swimming pool in front. Shishir Mehrotra you are so dead!

But why? My subconscious mind decided to make it's presence felt. He is just being friendly, probably knows her for long.

Now it was my turn. Shishir gave me a warm smile as he turned to face me. He reached out and put his arm around me and to much to my relief pulled out of this girls hand.

"Suvi, meet Rita. She is Charles baby sister." He said as he smiled again at this Rita character. "Ritz, this is Suvi, Suvarna- my girlfriend and childh-" he never got to finish.

"Girlfriend?" Shrieked Rita. Well to my ears it sounded like a shriek.

"Well yeah." Shishir  said as he smiled at me warmly pulling me closer, totally missing out on the girl's stunned expression.

"Oh Hi Su Su- Suvarna." She said slowly, trying out my name on her tongue. "Sorry for freaking out. Just took me by surprise. " she said shooting me a warm smile.

I felt myself smiling back. She seems sweet I thought to myself as I took her outstretched for a shake.

"I am this tall sexy man's childhood friend. His best friend." She said shooting a look at Shishir and made me raise an eyebrow. Shishir just barked out a laugh but did not say anything.

"Where were you hiding your pretty friend?" She asked Shishir.

"We met after ten years." He said smiling again at me.

"Oh my god! Are you the friend who tricked him into coming to London?" she said looking at me and I almost gasped. I had not uttered a single word since this girl had come in and here she was, seemingly knowing all about me.

Even the things she should not know!

"I must thank you for that!" she said as she pulled me into a hug. I just shot a grim look at Shishir who himself was looking slightly surprised. "If not for you, he would have never come into my life." She said as she pulled away from me.

I just did not know how to react.

"Um – ah" were the noises Shishir  was making looking uncomfortable. I felt so hurt. HE had been actually talking around about what I had done.

"But you hated her!" Rita said, frowning slightly. She was talking almost as though I was not even here!

This actually had gone too far! I felt a deep sense of hurt. I darted a look at Shravan who was looking at me with a worried expression.

I turned my face away from him "You both talk. I will see you all later." I managed to say as I gave a smile at Rita, who seemed delighted at the prospect.

"Suvi!" Shishir called out but I moved away.

"I will see you both later too." I heard Paresh say and I saw him come beside me as I stepped out of the room.

At this moment I actually felt just too numb.

"Suvi! I am sure this is not the way it seems like." Paresh said quietly beside me.

"What does it seem like?" I asked him as I started walking down the steps. I could hear Shishir  say something in a loud voice inside but to be honest was not bothered. I heard Rita say something which sounded like an apology. But then I am not upset with her.

Paresh m had not answered my question. He probably did not have an answer.

As I reached down I started walking towards the door to go out. I just need to get away for sometime.

Paresh realised this. He reached out and punched the relevant code on the door. "Suvi It will be cold outside . Wait for me okay? I will get us something warm and be back."

I nodded at him. He really could be sensible when I needed him to. I leaned at the all near the door and closed my eyes.

The next minute I felt my blood chill "Hey there baby doll! Is Rita inside?" I snapped my eyes open and came face to face with my worst nightmare. That look, that chilling smile I could never forget. I started at him in complete shock!

He just looked at me, his eyes roaming all over me, making me feel dirty all over. I just reacted and ran.

"Hey!" I heard his voice as I ran down the stairs not caring where I went. I just had to get away!

I ran till I reached ground level and still continued running till I bumped into someone. "Suvarna?" I heard a familiar voice as a pair of hand steadied me.

"Rahul?" I whispered surprised.

"Yeah. I -had to come here- to London." He said looking uncomfortable and uneasy. "Urgent work." He blurted. "See you later." He said and turned away and was gone before I could ask him anything.

I gave a look behind my shoulder and was glad that man had not followed me. I managed to get myself to a bench nearby and sat down shakily.

What exactly is going on? Why is he outside Shishir's apartment? He asked for Rita, does he know Shishir as well?

I pulled my hands over my face as I felt tremors rake through me.

"There you are. Why did you run away?" I heard the voice near me and snapped my head up. My hands fell beside me as I saw the disgusting face in front of me.

I lurched back in the bench looking around desperately.

"You look familiar. Have we met before?" He continued.

I got up and ran again. I ran out of the main gate of the apartment building not caring where I went. All I knew I had to get away from him.

"Suvi!" I heard Shishir's voice as I was running outside the gate. I did not stop. I could not stop.

I had to run. Run far away. I heard horns blazing but did not stop. Tyres screeched but I did not bother as my feet took me away, Away from here.

I screamed as I felt a hand pull me to stop. I pushed but they held on to me firmly. "Suvi!" I heard Shishir's voice. Relief flooded me and I felt my eyes droop on their own.

Darkness engulfed me as I felt strong arms hold on to me in their arms and carry me.

Shishir's POV.

I gathered Suvi in my arms. What had scared her so much? This is not like Suvi to get so scared. She looked pale.

Rita had seriously pissed me off. I have never seen her behave like this before. She is Charles baby sister and like a sister to me as well.

I have no clue how she knows about the things she said today. I have never spoken ill about Suvi to anyone. When I saw her hurt look I felt like a knife stabbing through me but she was gone before I could stop her and explain. And now this.

Paresh came running upto us as I stepped inside the gate with Suvi in my arms. I gave him a serious look. Something seriously seems wrong here and I will have to find out what.
