Hi, incase some of you have not read the previous chapters I would urge to read them. Within the next few chapters the mysteries will start getting answers and things could make more sense if you have read from the start.

Suvarna's POV.

Shishir's hands reached out and placed themselves on either side of me as he clutched the handle bar.

"Let's go then." Shishir whispered into my right ear and started to peddle. His breath fanned my ear as he whispered the words.

He placed his chin on my right shoulder his nose close to my cheek. I breathed in as his scent wrapped around me and his arms cradled me on my seat. Is this really happening? I can hardly believe Shishir has asked me to be his girlfriend. I feel insanely happy and very scared at the same time.

Supposing something goes wrong? We had been very close as friends in childhood, almost inseparable. However things went so wrong that we lost touch completely for almost ten years.

"What are you thinking?" Shishir's soft voice broke into my thoughts.

"Us."

"What about us?" he asked gently.

"It seems like a dream. I can hardly believe all this is actually happening. I am in London and you have asked me to be your girlfriend." I breathed out the words softly.

It was difficult to talk the way he had me caged between his hands. His hold on me tighter than it was required.

"It's real. We are real." He said his voice sounding husky.

I sighed contently. He was cycling in the apartment block's ground. Tough it was already dark I could make out in the lights shining the beautiful surrounding.

The light breeze carried with it the scent of flowers. The compound was almost silent with only the occasional sound of cars leaving or entering the parking lot. There were hardly any people around.

He kept cycling us around with neither of us speaking much. Words did not seem necessary right now.

"Suvi."

"Hmm?"

"Will you have lunch with me tomorrow?"

I smiled to myself as I heard the hope in his voice. "Why only lunch? We will have breakfast together as well. I am your guest after all." I teased.

"You are not a guest." He said sounding pissed. My heart warmed at his words

"What I meant was," He continued "will you come out for lunch tomorrow with me?"

"But don't you have to go to work?" I asked.

"Yes, but I will send Charles to pick you up." He urged.

"Okay." I said happily.

"For now, ready to sample street side food of London?" He asked, his own happiness obvious in his voice.

"Yes!" I said feeling excited. I got down from the cycle and waited for him as he balanced it against the wall.

Once done he immediately came to me and placed his arms around my shoulders and we moved towards the gates.

We kept meeting some of his neighbours and almost everyone was shooting curious looks in my direction.

Shishir acknowledged everyone politely and introduced me as his girlfriend to anyone known to him who crossed our path. Even to the security guards!

"Why do you have to mention I am your girlfriend to each and every one?" I asked feeling slightly embarrassed at the knowing look everyone seemed to give us.

"Why not? I want the whole world to know you are my girlfriend. If I could, I would shout from the tallest building for all the world to hear." He said sounding casual as though this was the sensible thing to do.

"That is so cheesy." I said though my heart fluttered in my chest at his words.

"It's the truth." He gave me a serious look and tightened his hand on my shoulder. He actually looked angry.

"Why are you angry?" I asked confused.

"It's nothing." He said still sounding pissed. Now what is bothering him?

"Shishir?" I said in a warning tone.

His hand tightened even more on my shoulder and he stopped walking. He turned his face to me "Why don't you want me to introduce you to everyone as my girlfriend?"

My heart melted at his hurt expression. He was happy and was wanting everyone to know I was the reason for his happiness.

"Of course I want you to tell everyone I am your girlfriend. It's just that it's new and I – I – it makes me feel a bit shy." I told him honestly going slightly red in the face.

His expression immediately softened a bit. He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead and started walking again.

I smiled as I stared walking beside him, tucked in his arm and felt a bit shy as I turned to give him a kiss- er peck on his cheek- when our height difference hit me!

Oh hell!

How am I ever be going to able to kiss- er- peck him? I will need to jump up and that will be totally weird and crazy!

Suvi you will need to carry a ladder with you! I mean I cannot say 'Shishir bend down I want to ki- er peck you.' I thought feeling pissed.

He was carrying a silly, somewhat goofy looking smile on his face and that irritated me even more.

"What is so funny?" I said feeling cross, though this was not his fault.

Infact no! It is his fault for being so tall.

"Every problem has a solution." He said sounding amused and I was confused.

"What-" I started to ask before he stopped walking and suddenly whisked me up in his arms holding me so I was at his face level.

I looked at him startled "Shishir! Put me down."

"Why do you need a ladder when you have your own 'ladder' and 'walking talking coconut tree ' at your service?" He said wrapping his hands around my waist as he held me to him, my feet above the ground. "So whenever you want to kiss-er peck me- just say it."

I stared at him stunned as his eyes danced with mischief.

How did he know? I closed my eyes and groaned in despair. "Don't tell me I said all that aloud?""

He chuckled "Okay, if you don't want me to I will not say it."

Oh crap! I had muttered all that aloud.

"So my pretty girlfriend, I am waiting for that kiss-er peck." He continued to tease. I felt him lean forward even with my eyes closed.

I pried my eyes open and met his happy face.

"Shishir put me down. People are looking at us." I managed to plead with some effort. His close proximity was pretty much rendering my mind senseless.

He shrugged "I don't care."

I looked around. Truth be told not many were around and the few passing by were shooting just curious glance at us and going their way.

I bit my lip as I tried to think. Before I could change my mind I leaned forward and placed a tiny peck on his right cheek and pulled back.

I saw his happy smile as he gave me a wink and placed me down gently.

Shishir's POV.

I could have jumped for joy right now. The fact that she was beginning to warm up to the thought of us being a couple gave me a sense of contentment.

Of course I could not resist teasing her when she unintentionally muttered aloud how my height made things difficult. I glanced at her and felt emotions crash over me.

I had been angry earlier when she had objected to my introducing her to everyone as my gi.rlfriend. It had made me think she may not be sure about us being together. But when she explained her reason I understood.

How I managed to stay away from her for so many years is something I will never figure out. I shudder to think if I had not made that sudden unplanned trip home we may have stayed away forever.

Panic filled my heart at the thought and I pushed it away immediately.

Thinking about the trip brought up the thought of the letters. I need to get an answer to that very soon. Had I received them then this separation of ten years would have never happened.

I stopped walking as we reached the mobile food van parked not far from the apartment. Though I have never tried their food I have heard good things about it from the people around.

"Want to eat here?" I asked Suvi with a smile.

"Sure." She said as she checked on the available options to chose from.

I decided to along go with her choice of food since I had hardly ever tried street food.

Not bad! I thought surprised as I sunk my teeth into freshly made cheese burger and custard tarts. I had no idea street kiosks made such delicious food. Or maybe it is because of the company I had that everything seemed good.

I looked at Suvi. She was totally engrossed with the food in her hand . I smiled at the sight in front of me. She was a great cook and  loved eating just as much as she loved cooking.

"Like it?" I asked her though the answer was obvious. She gave me her answer showing a 'thumbs up', her mouth too full to answer.

My heart warmed up. I knew she will love the simple things in life and. love the cycle ride and simple food.

In all honesty I had been too eager and impatient to wait till tomorrow to spend some special moments with her. But she deserves to be pampered and I plan to do just that. I know the perfect place to take her for lunch tomorrow.

She looked up towards me and caught me staring at her making me grin at her. I have the most beautiful girl in the world beside me and she is mine. I am certainly not going to be ashamed of being totally enamoured by her.

She signalled me to bend by flexing her forefinger at me. I raised my eyebrow but happily complied. She put her hand near my mouth and rubbed, probably some food bit stuck there. "Big baby ." she teased and I had never been happier at being clumsy while eating before gave her a delighted smile.

I warpped my hand on her shoulder and pulled her close and clicked a selfie of us together. Infact I ended up licking quite a few with bot of us lauging and smiling at each other.

After we finished eating I she thoughtfully got some things packed for Paresh. She never fails in her concern and thoughtfulness about others.

Though I wanted to stay and take her around for another round in the cycle she insisted we go up as Paresh was alone. I agreed knowing that now I don't need to steal moments. I have her as my girlfriend.

I wheeled the cycle inside in the garage and secured it before we went up on the elevator holding hands.

I unlocked the door to be greeted by a dimply lit apartment. We stood for a few seconds getting used to the low light before I started walking towards the switchboard to switch on some more light. Suvi stopped me pulling at my hand and gestured for me to quietly listen.

Confused I strained my ears and heard some hoarse voices and weird noises coming from the direction of the living room.

Surprised I glanced at Sumo who seemed to be somewhat more aware of what was going on. She gestured to me with a finger placed on the lip to stay quite and dragged me towards the living room.

The room was almost dark other than the light coming from the television screen – that had some horror movie playing!

Just few feet in front of us I could make out Paresh's figure as he watched it seeming completely oblivious to our presence.

I watched as Suvi sleathily approached him knowing only too well what was going to happen.

Within a few seconds I saw Suvi bend towards him from behind and the most blood curdling scream left Paresh.

I chuckled and shook my head at the two and switched on a light.

There he was! Paresh sprawled on the floor where he must have stumbled in fright after Suvi had succeeded in scaring him.

"Not funny, not funny at all!" He said sounding irritated and picked up a cushion and flung it at Suvi. Suvi immediately reached out for one and threw it on him. Within minutes they were full on at it with most of the cushions missing to hit the target and landing around them.

"You both will never grow up." I  laughed at their antics.

Almost immediately one cushion landed on my face and I knew it was Suvi's doing.

"You asked for it." I said dangerously and I lunged forward cushion in hand. Soon we were engrossed ina full fledged cushion fight, not very different from the numerous pillow fights we had as children.

That was SuShi's sweet first date, totally uncomplicated and filled with simple moments that make the best memories in life. Hope you all enjoyed reading it.

Shishir's POV.

My heat skipped a beat as she walked into into my office. I had wanted her to see my office and had asked Charles to bring her here.

I got up from my chair to greet her. Just as I reached her side the door to my office opened and Danny walked in unannounced.

He saw Suvi and shot me a smirk, guessing immediately who she is. I opened my mouth to introduce but before I could-

"Hey there beautiful lady. I am Danial Cooper." He introduced himself!

Suvi shot me an uncertain look before taking his hand. "Hi. I am Suvarna Sharma."

"Pleased to meet you." Danny continued not letting go of Suvi's hand.

What had come over him? I frowned and pulled Suvi to my side. "Danny meet my girlfriend." I said pointedly and saw him look surprised.

"Girlfriend?" He said shooting me a grin.
