My apologies for the delay guys.
Hope you like the chapter!

Guys I forgot to add something. Do read the edited note in the end.

Suvarna's POV.

Pushing the door to my room I walked in feeling dreadful. I know I should not feel this way, I should be Shishir's strength but right now I feel like giving in to temptation and agree to his not going back to London.

I knew he would be returning soon, but still it was breaking me from inside when the time for it has finally approached.

Not wanting him to realise my state I had sneaked out of the Mehrotra mansion while he had been busy making phone calls to London.

My phone buzzed with the message tone.

Of course it was Shravan, just like I had expected.

My fingers flicked on the message.

Shishir: You are a very bad girl.

My lips pulled slightly into a small smile.

Me: And why does the good boy say so?

Shishir: He is being forced to return to London by you.

The pain in my chest was like a needle had been pierced now that he confirmed he is returning.

Me: You know I don't want- erase.

: I wish I could also go- erase.

I closed my eyes taking a deep breath and wrote the thing that was the bigeest truth of my life

: I love you.- send.

Shishir : *%^&@#**(#@^&**%$

Me: What???

Shishir: *Shrugs*

I closed my eyes. Why does he have to be so adorable? Now how am I going to stick to my resolve and make him do what is right instead of what I want?

I caught my lower lip between my teeth.

Me: Goodnight.

Smiling wickedly I waited for his response.

Shishir: Goodnight.

What the hell? Why did he agree to goodnight so easily?

*beep beep*

I glared at my phone as the new message came in. What does he want to add 'Sweet dreams'? He must have messaged to pacify me now!

Without even glancing at his message I replied angrily.

Me: Lame talk will not work. You don't want to spend time with me- fine by me- send.

Unknown number: No Suvarna . I was really busy. I will soon come down to meet you in person.

Ha! Now he says- I frowned. Why is he calling me 'Suvarna'?

Unknown number???

Confused I checked the details and froze. The last message in was not from Shishir! I had just clicked on it to reply.

My heartiest congratulations on your engagement. Apologies for not being there in person I had been out of town and returned only today.

Oh my God!

Who was this??The message had been polite but my response must have given him the wrong idea!

You are the biggest idiot of this world Suvi!

What do I do now? Call the number?

And say what?

I don't even know who I have sent the wrong vibes to.

I punched Shishir's number.

He disconnected!

I dialled again.

Disconnected again.

What the hell!

Taking a deep breath I dialled Paresh's number.

"Hello?"

"Paresh. I need to speak to Shishir."

"So talk to him.You have my blessings to do so."

"Paresh! No jokes now! I need to speak to him now!"

"Hey Suvi! What happened?"

"Take the phone to him. Keep it on speaker. But take it to him!"

"He is not at home Suvi."

Not at home?? "Where did he go?"

"He said he needed to catch up with some old friends and left home just few minutes back."

Is that why he was disconnecting my calls?

Who are these friends?

I know all his Delhi Friends.

Or do I?

Even if is with friends, why can't he pick up a call from his fiancée?

Is this why he so readily wished me goodright?

Suvi what the hell is wrong with you? What sort of crazy thoughts are these?

"Hello? Suvi?" Paresh's voice reached my ears.

"Ya. Um –I tried calling him he is not answering. I will talk to him later. Good night."

"Hey! Tell me what is wrong?"

I sighed "Can you meet me? Now."

"Will be there in a few minutes."

I smiled. My always dependable buddy.

"I will meet you at the back garden of my house."

He was quite for a moment. "Okay."

***

"Suvi. This is just a simple congratulatory message. An absolutely normal thing!" Paresh said as he read the message.

"I know! but my response! That was meant for Shishir! And-"

He grinned "You and bhaiya had a fight? How sweet."

"No!" I hissed at the brat "But what am I going to do now?"

"For God's sake Suvi. Just ignore! It is no big deal!" He shrugged his shoulders casually. "Or call and find out who it is and explain the message was a mistake."

"All very sensible and correct Paresh. I know this is how it should be. But there is one thing you do not understand." I said frowning.

"I don't understand what?"

"You have no idea how a man's mind works."

"Eh? Excuse me?" his eyebrows shot up.

"Oh hell!" I groaned at what I had just said. "What I mean is – this man might be thinking I want to spend time with him/"

"And how do you know for sure this is a man?"

"It has to be! Women won't send such messages! A women's message would have been like 'Hey! Congratulations dear! So happy for you. Stay blessed! May all your dreams come true- etc etc!" I gasped when I saw him slide off the bench. He was laughing!

"Oh my God Suvi! Gender centric messages!"

I glared at him. "Shut up Pushy. It is true!"

Then abruptly he stopped laughing and gestured me to stay quiet and listen.

A distinct knock sounded nearby.

There was someone in the garden. Oh God! What trouble have I invited upon myself?

"Shh!" Paresh said as he looked around and started moving in the direction of the sound.

I looked around and saw a long piece of bamboo lying on the ground and picked it up.

My heart jumped in fear as my window came in view. Against the dim light there was an unmistakable silhouette.

The guts of the man!

Fear clutched at my heart. Supposing he was some sort of psychic sexual predator? Just one unintended message sent and he was here!

I poked Paresh with the stick I was carrying and pushed it towards him.

In the dim light I could make out as the man froze as though sensing our presence and started turning.

"Hit him! Hit him hit him!" I shrieked urgently and Paresh raised the stick.

My eyes widened as the man ducked and caught the stick as it hit his shoulder. Next second he reached out and caught Paresh by his neck and I gasped.

Without thinking I braced myself and gave the intruder a hefty push. Before I could react any further my hand was captured in a vice like grip.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

Break time!

An intruder in Suvi's garden and Shishir is away with friends! Who do you think it could be?

Who could have sent that message to her?

*^*^*^*^*^*^.*^*^*^*^*^*^

Suvarna's POV.

"Leave me!" I yelped as the large hand tightened painfully around my wrist. Pushkar managed to pull free and he pushed at the intruder.

Almost instantly I felt my hand being left free.

"Suvi??"

I stilled.

"Shi-shir?" I breathed out haltingly and then "Oh my God! It's you!"

"Paresh stop shoving me around!" Shishir hissed "What is wrong with you two? Why did you attack me? And what the hell are you doing here out in the garden at this time?" Shishir said sounding pissed in the still dimly lit surrounding.

"Sorry bhaiya! We thought you were the man Suvi sent a message saying she wants to spend time with." Pushkar blabbered and I groaned at his choice of words.

"What??" Shishir asked and I wanted to kick Pushkar.

"Pushy shut up!" I hissed "Shishir I thought – I mean- I was angry when you said good night and-"

"So lady If you are angry with me you will send messages to other men?" I did not miss the amusement in his voice and face palmed.

I heard Shishir chuckle lightly and felt myself be pulled towards him. "Calm down and tell me what is going on."

As briefly and as sensibly I could manage I told him. "You both are equally brainless." He shaking his head. "Why do you two complicate things? Just use the software in your phone and find out whose numbr it is!"

I closed my eyes "Now why did I not think of such an obvious and simple solution?

"Suvi you forced me to act silly like you. Otherwise I am a sharp brained man." Paresh complained. "Anyways I am off now. Bhaiya I am sure you had some naughty plans lurking outside hr window." The brat said cheekily and sprinted off.

"That I do." I heard Shishir say as he pulled me in his arms "Lady this window has special memories for me. And you are changing it to weird memories." I felt his breath near my ear "Other day I lifted Prema in my arms thinking it was you and today you attack me with a stick." He teased and I smothered a laugh.

"You told Paresh you are going to spend time with some old friends so-"

"That is exactly what I am doing- came to spend time with my friend." He said softly. "I wanted to surprise you."

I realised why he was not answering his call before and his reason for the 'goodnight' response. He had not wanted me to guess he was planning something!

"Now can I take my fiancée out?" Shishir whispered making me look at him with a mixture of surprise and happiness.

"Now?" I asked.

"Of course love."

"I- I will need to ask my family Shishir." For a fleeting second my time in London with him flashed in my mind when I could have done anything that I pleased. I shook off the thought- Suvi family is important and you have never felt restricted.

"I have already asked them." Shishir  responded with a smile. This made me remember the time, months back when he had taken me to the banks of the Yamuna river.

The drive, the ride in the marigold decorated horse cart driven by Babban. Popcorn and cotton candy picnic and – a chuckle escaped me as I remembered the blunder of the drinks- buttermilk, carrot juice, spinach juice- I shook my head as that wonderful night of months ago seemed from an entirely different era.

Things had been so different then- we had been rediscovering each other. And now we are engaged to be married.

"Shall we?" I heard Shishir's voice and realised we had already reached his car.

Shishir's POV.

I could not contain the smile that graced my face on seeing my Suvi's reaction as the familiar sights came into view. I knew she would love to re live the experience of months back.

It was no longer two friends trying to rediscover each other- It was two people in love making special memories.

As the board came into view she gasped in happiness.

Nigambodh Ghat.

"Shishir!" she looke.d at me her happiness evident all over her face.

Grinning at her happiness I parked the car. She had already opened her door and stepped out by the time I locked the car and reached her side.

Suddenly she turned and hugged me. I wrapped my hands around her, holding her on to me. A movement made me frown and I pulled her slightly away from me to see her face. My heart lurged painfully.

"Suvi why are you crying?"

"I – I am going to miss you Shishir." She looked at me, her eyes swimming in the night light.

The depth of the river Yamuna in the background was not as deep for me as the emotions in her eyes.

I felt destroyed – drowning- lost.

"Suvi, sweetheart you know all you have to say is 'yes'- and I will not go." I whispered meaning every word.

I had decided months back to be where she stays. It was her decision for me to do things the way they were right- and I will do it for her.

But for me- being with her is the only right thing to do.

She shook her head and I sighed, trying to fight away the pain of the inevitable separation coming our way.

Separation of only distance and not hearts, but that seemed no less than a harsh punishment.

I pulled her back to my chest and we stood like that for a few moments.

Besides her decision I also had another good reason to go back right now. The conversation I had with Henry had opened a new angle in her parents case. Officer Smith had told him about Poppa's revelation in custody.

There had been no causalities in the plane with Suvi's parents!

Then what had happened to all the passengers?

I had to find that for my Suvi.

I smiled at her as she stood beside me, pulling away from me.

"Ready for another ride in the same horse chariot?"I asked smiling. Her smile was all the reward I could ever want.

*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

Break time!

Suvi and Paresh do it again-LOL! Paresh  is the best friend one could have- dependable and ready to fall into any plan – and then blame his friend for the mistake – haha!

SuShi are reliving the magical ride they had months ago- I hope all of you remember that night they had shared when Shishir  had returned to Delhi after ten years.

*^*^*^*^*^*^.*^*^*^*^*^*^

Shishir's POV.

I could not take away the smile from my face as I kept thinking about the time I and Suvi had spent last night.

My impending departure next day loomed in the horizon but I was determinedly pushing the gloom of theat thought away for now.

Right now Suvi is supposed to come over and I am desperate to meet her already.

I smiled as Suvi entered the house

"Devi, aap jal graham karengi?" Danny said slowly reading from a booklet in his hand.

"What?" Suvi laughed at Danny's too perfect question about if she wants to drink water."Devi??" she grinned.

I sighed "After the Kachha debacle he is trying tom play safe. He has got himself an 'Learn hindi' book. And trust me his distorted hindi was better than this one."

"Bakwass na kar nadan balak."

"Oh God!" Suvi burst out laughing. "The language guide books teach that level of Hindi?"

"Not really." I grumbled.

"I have a mentor." Danny revealed happily.

"A mentor?" Sumo asked.

"Swami Pushpi chand." I muttered making her frown for a second before she realised who I meant "Paresh?"

I nodded and she burst out laughing. "Now it makes sense why he is speaking like the people from very old black and white movies."

"Achha aag dijiye." Danny said bowing dramatically in front of Suvi and she looked at him amused, but confused.

"Danny!" I hissed "you just asked her to give you fire!"

"No! I asked permission to take her leave." He retorted.

"The word is agyaa you dolt!" I said pissed.

Suvi laughed "See you Danny."

"Hey Suvarna. Good you are here. Try this. I made it." Charles said coming over with a tray.

"What is it?" Suvi asked.

"Aloo paratha." Charles beamed.

"In a glass??" Suvi gasped.

"Don't even think of touching that Suvarna." Vikram bhaiya said as he approached us. "Varsha is his mentor."

"Oops." Suvi smiled.

"Oops is right. She put in the paratha's in the blender and made this concoction – saying the baby will like fluid paratha!" Vikram Bhaiya grinned "Charles my man you got yourself a pregnant woman with craziest craving as a mentor."

Charles grinned good naturedly "Suvarna has told me I can help her, I am sure I will learn a lot with her. We had a good time while she was in London."

The mention of Suvi in London brought with it a pang in my heart. The thought of returning to the apartment with her not there was torturous.

I got up. "Suvi, come and help me pack." I only wanted to spend time with her and this excuse was good enough.

Suvarna's POV.

It was time and I was not ready. I could never be ready to bid him good bye.

"Suvi you will tell me if you face any problem while opening the hotel, okay?" Shishir said holding my hand as we stood at the airport.

I nodded.

"I want you to come to London." He said making me look at him

"You know I cannot."

"Not right away love, but soon, very soon I will make it happen." His voice held a hint of promise and I wanted to believe him, though in my mind I knew this was not possible.

I tried my best not to look sad or dejected.

No! Suvi you will not cry!

"Shishir. We need to go in now." Danny said as he pulled at Shishir who seemed to be rooted on the spot as he held on to my hand.

"Mehrotra we need to report for boarding." Charles said tugging at Shishir's hand.

"Go Shishir ." I whispered trying to keep my voice steady as I tried to pull my hand away from his steel like grip. "Go." I urged.

Bending his head he said softly "That first bite Suvi is mine, have no doubts on that."

I wanted this to happen, for him to take the first bite of what I cook for the first time in my hotel but it was not going to happen so I looked away.

"I mean it love, I will not miss that for the world." Shishir insisted guessing correctly my thoughts.

He pulled me into a crushing hug. Then turned around and strode in.

"I love you." I whispered softly as he disappeared from my view.

"You can cry now sister in law." Paresh said softly making me look at him at the term he had just used.

Stifling a sob I hugged him "Thank you brother in law."

***

I opened the door to my room and walked in. This time I knew there was no chance for any surprise. I looked at my window as it stood there ever so quiet.

My ears longed to hear that knock that beckoned in with it happiness and surprise for me each time it sounded.

But I knew the hands that knocked on them were far away now.

People say I am strong. Maybe I am. But what my source of energy is not by my side and I feel lost.

I sat on my bed and pulled the pink teddy to me and hugged it tightly as I looked at the ring on my finger that held a promise of lifelong happiness.

"How will I live away from you Shishir?" I whispered letting the tears flow out freely at last.

Shishir's POV.

Silence. A loud echoing silence is what greeted me as I opened the door to my apartment. Everything was just like it had been for years, yet nothing could be same now when Suvi was not here.

Her being back in my life completed me, and me not being beside her left me feeling incomplete.

Wearily I walked in. I know I agreed to do what she wants, and I will do it.

"Suvi, I will have you beside me soon." I promised softly as I took out my phone and dialed her number for a video call.

Her face came into focus almost instantly.

"I love you my Suvi."

"I love you Shishir."

Thank you to each one of you for this amazing journey. I really have no words to express how I feel right now.

I know this chapter the emotions were slightly higher than normal but this is not easy for ShraMan. They have each other, even if distance separates them right now.

Edited note: The mysterious caller..any guesses who messaged
