Tobias' POV

After convincing my mom to let me stay over Dylan's house, I got ready for the party instead, and put extra clothes in my gym bag so I could sleep over at Dylan's. I had to be back home in the morning and if I came home with clothes that smelled like alcohol, my life was over.

Once I got ready, I checked my phone for any texts. I had some but none from Dylan so I knew he wasn't here yet. I grabbed my phone off the charger and grabbed my bag before going downstairs.

Once I did, Rocky met me halfway up the stairs and started wagging his tail. He's a very playfully dog, to the point where he forgets he is over 60 pounds. It's something that I love and hate about him.

"Hey buddy!" I scratched the back of his ear before going into the kitchen where my dad was, "Hey dad."

"Hey, how was the first day?"

I started going over everything that happened and realized how weird my first day actually was. Every time I thought of something, Ethan was always in it but for some odd reason I didn't want to tell my dad about Ethan. So instead I told him my first day was fine and how I was heading over to Dylan's.

"Oh come on, you don't think I know about you going to that kids party? You can fool your mom but you can't fool me..."

I widened my eyes and hoped he wasn't going to make me stay home tonight, 'cause I was actually excited to go. But for a second I wondered how he even found out. Right now, provoking him was not a good idea considering he'd actually make me stay home.

Ronnie's parties were actually fun if you went with the right people. Plus he always had the best liquor.

"You're not gonna make me stay home now, are you?"

"Nah, go have fun. Not too much though. I know I said I wanted grandchildren but—"

"Dad! I'm not stupid."

"You sure?"

I felt my phone vibrate and knew it was Dylan texting me to come out.

"Bye dad..."

I left the kitchen but on my way out, I could still hear my dad chuckling as I walked out the door. Normal parents wouldn't make sex jokes, but mine do...

"Ronnie said its getting pretty packed." Dylan said as he drove through neighborhoods. Ronnie lived pretty far considering the larger houses were separated from the average ones like mine. The fact that his house is already getting packed and it's that big, was a problem.

"That's what you get when you invite the whole school." I joked.

He laughed while he put his signal to turn left, "Yeah, the kids nuts."

We kept driving until we saw big houses so we knew we were close. As we drove more down, all the houses had their lights turned off except one...

Can you guess?

"I'm guessing his LED lights came in the mail..." I watched as the color lights beamed through the windows. You could see the different colored lights flash through the windows and from our distance, you could faintly hear music playing from inside. I guess this is why he invited the whole school.

After searching for who knows how long, we ended up finding parking after a car drove out of one. We all got out and walked to the front door. Just like any party, the door was unlocked so we walked in and suddenly the sound of music playing, and the smell of pot got ten times stronger.

Although you couldn't smell the alcohol in the air, someone walked past me and you could smell it through their pores, especially their breath.

"Tobias! Dylan! Cameron!" a familiar voice shouted. We looked over and saw Ronnie walking towards us. I felt relieved 'cause although I recognized some faces, This was Ronnie's house.

"Hey dude."

"You like the lights?" He said as he walked backwards with his arms out, pointing to the strip of lights nailed to the ceiling, "each room has a specific color. Except the living room, it blinks out a whole bunch of colors." He said as he looked up, admiring all the times the colors would change.

"He's high isn't he?" Cameron whispered. I turned over and grinned before I looked back and saw he was still looking at the colors, just standing there.

"Yeah, he is."

"I'mma go to the kitchen and see what I can find, you want me to bring you some?"

"I'll go." Cameron said before walking away with Dylan.

"I'll stay. I'm gonna try and bring Ronnie back to life." They both laughed before making their way past people to get to the kitchen. I looked over and saw Ronnie rubbing his eyes, probably from how long he was staring. I walked over and patted his back.

"You okay?"

"Y-Yeah. I'mma go to the red room."

"Red room? Please don't tell me you have a room filled with whips and hand cuffs."

"Ew dude! I don't roll that way. I meant red as in the lights in the room are red. I told you each room has a specific color."

"Oh."

As he walked away, I found myself pulling him back to ask him the question I've wanted to ask him since I walked in.

"What room is Ethan in?"

"Ethan?"

"New kid, 'ye high, you invited him during gym..." I explained as much as I could.

"Oh! Um, last I saw him he was in the purple room. Why? He messing with you?"

"Nah, he just has something of mine," I lied straight through my teeth, "Which room is that?"

"The game room. they're playing a whole bunch of games. But when I went in, he was just standing there drinking his cup."

I nodded a thanks and started making my way towards the 'purple room.' Honestly I don't know why I was looking for him, don't really know why he crossed my mind but he seemed happy that I was coming, why not make it known that I'm here ?

I made my way past everyone as One Dance by Drake started playing.

Once we made it out the living room, I could see Dylan and Cameron make their way to the back yard where the people were, lounging by the pool.

I went down the hallway where all the doors were open, so you could see a clear view of the colors.

All I kept wondering about as I walked past each room was, how much money he spent on all these lights.

He kept talking about how excited he was and how lit the party was going to be once he put them up. He even sent me a video of the different colors.

Once I saw the color purple shine from the room I heard people roar in laughter. I walked in and saw a huge group of people playing beer pong; the classic drinking game.

I walked in and noticed the cheering was from one side of the table since the person made the shot in the cup. I looked around and saw familiar faces and some not recognizable to the eye.

It was really hot in the room and I was just about to turn in leave, before a hand grabbed my arm.

"Hey."

I turned around and looked to see Michelle. She had a thin straw in her cup as she sipped. She was wearing a crop top and high waisted jeans, with her hair curled. She looked pretty.

"Hi." I turned back around to leave until she grabbed me again.

"Stay, we're about to play spin the bottle." She said as she rubbed my arm. I could tell she was tipsy since she didn't know what personal space was.

Even though I was about to decline her offer, I looked over and saw Ethan leaning on the wall with a red cup in one hand and his phone in the other.

"Fine."
