APPLE FESTIVAL: DAY ONE.
P A R T  O N E.

"YOU HAVEN'T BEEN YOURSELF LATELY." Ethan observed with concern. Yona hummed nonchalantly, gazing out the window. Not bothering to denying the accused.

"This is exactly what I'm talking about." Ethan added, running a hand through his styled golden hair. "Talk to me baby girl."

Yona and Gola sighed at the same time. Yona in defeat. Gola in annoyance.

"Just a little tiered." Yona elaborated, shifting in her seat to look her three year boyfriend in the eye. She didn't lie. She just didn't tell him the truth. She herself wasn't sure of the truth. She wasn't sure of the recurring dream in which she lost her little sister was just a dream — or a darker truth. A lively nightmare.

"I could help you get some sleep baby." Ethan suggested, raising his eyebrows at Yona, who slapped him playfully in the chest.

The Driver, Ethan's best friend, Beau, cleared his throat loudly. Gola coughed louder with wide eyes. The two exchanged an Embarrassed glance in thick silence.

"Or I could put you to sleep." Yona offered in A low sultry voice. An attempt to be seductive.

Gola was not impressed but she couldn't say the same for Ethan who appeared in a trance. His baby blue's darkening, his signature charming smile slipping from his face. Nor could she say the same for Beau who gorgeously sported a smirk on his pouty pink lips.

This unimpressed her further. She glared daggers at him.

Beau sat straighter, clearing his throat again. "Do you like music?" He blurted Awkwardly, using his free hand to scratch the back of his neck. His other unusually large hand grasping the wheel.

Gola raised an eyebrow at him.

Who doesn't like music?

He wore his dark ' Saints saltwater Academy's uniform over his sun kissed skin. Along with his midnight hair and chocolate brown eyes with flashes of electric blue striking through them like lightening. He looked like an old Hollywood movie star.

"Sure." She murmured, turning her straying eyes back to the road ahead.

Beau beamed brilliantly. Gola resisted the urge to bare teeth as well. He put on Ricky Nelson's 'lonesome town', shyly stealing glances at Gola to see if she liked the song.

There was no resisting a small smile then.

The sleek inky vintage nineteen-sixty-nine camaro's headlights cut through the stretching darkness on the vacant highway with ease. Brooksville went to sleep at eight o'clock. It was ten. So there wasn't a single soul to give the four lost teens direction.

Gola didn't know the exact way to the apple festival however she did know that the current route they were on wasn't it.

The route felt like the last wrong turn they'd ever take, oppressed by a pitch-black darkness that tore wickedly at the car windows and a deafening silence that didn't belong on a street that boasted a playground.

Everything was wrong.

The car slowed. Nocturnal animals hidden in a shrubbery stared into the car, their eyes glowing crimson. "I think we should turn back." Gola spoke up, biting her lip anxiously.

Beau's eyes twinkled in the rear view mirror. Silently prodding. 'What do you think Ethan.'

Ethan didn't notice. He was engrossed in Yona, who slept lightly on his chest.

"We're almost off of the road. We should go the rest of the way." Beau urged, sympathetically studying Gola.

Fear slithered all over her skin, leaving goose bumps in it's place.

Hesitantly he reached for her hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. "We're almost there."

Then Beau put his foot on the gas. Racing down the gloomy route with a devilish smirk gracefully strewn across his pretty lips.

Gola gasped she didn't know if it for Beau's disregard for the sped limit or that she had thought him to be a 'good boy' with shy eyes.

Beau loved the look of awe on her face so he went faster, rolling down the windows and blasting the music. "We're almost there."

She didn't know either to scream or laugh. She managed both. Feeling oddly euphoric.

Soon after the car slammed on it's breaks, coming to a screeching halt. All of it's passengers jolted forward groaning.

There was a boy in the middle of the road.

Beau was glad his car choose this exact moment to break down.

The headlights shone on none other than an almost smug looking Richards.
