*EDITED*

It's been a few weeks since I had last seen Ace. I was able to get signed as a writer to Aces company and since then I have been contacted by my editor/designer ... Oh gosh it's so crazy saying the word, my editor.

After my idea got approved, I was given the green light to start writing and given due dates of when each chapter is expected by. I have 1 year to finish writing my book there will be an event held at the end of this year with all the publishers and big-name brands showing off their work, so I have to be ready for the big premiere. Just thinking about it gives me butterflies.

"Ok, Sam what do you get for me," I say as I swirl around on a spinning chair in her office Sam is short for Samantha, she is my editor.

"So, as you know we have one year to finish. You are the artist, and I am the eraser ... hmm that didn't sound at all like what I thought it would be" she says as I let out a laugh. "I have a few rough outlines I drafted" handing her my idea notebook. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my book. I know, old fashioned writing by hand but that's just who I am.

"This looks great" we then continue to organize our thoughts just as we hear a knock on the door. I turn to see Jax standing with two cups of coffee "hello ladies thought I'd stop by and give you something to calm those working brains" he says as he gives me and Sam a hug. "Do you guys know each other?" I ask as Sam lightly punches him in the arm "oh yeah, we go way back he's my best friend since high school" she says as Jax grabs her and ruffles up her hair. "Yeah, she's like my other half," he says causing her to smile and hug him.

I gently smile "you guys are so cute, anyways I should probably get going, Sam, I'm gonna send you what I have so far and Jax be good to her" I wink as I take my coffee and notes and walk out the room. I notice Sam blushing when he called her his other half and for what I see. I have a feeling she's gonna give me shit for it later.

As I'm about to walk outside I hear Sam calling my name "hey, glad I caught up to you. I just got an email saying that tomorrow they're doing a sneak peek preview of the new authors that are going to be introduced" she says as she texts me the details.

"That sounds so exciting, I hope they like my work," I say as she reassures me that everything is going to be amazing.

As I walk to my car, I suddenly see a camera being flashed. What the... "THERE SHE IS" someone yells and points at me. I instantly gasp as I see people running up to me "are you, Annalise White?!" "When did you first start modelling?!" "Is it true your pregnant" "Are you secretly married to Ace Knight" the people begin to yell out more and more absurd questions I then feel as though I'm being cornered and suffocated with all the people around me a random man then grabs me causing me to yell as pain in my arm shoots through my body. Just then I see Ace and a group of security guards tackle the man and begin to confiscate all the cameras and protect him and I from being seen.

"Come with me" I heard Ace say as a black car pulls up in front of us. "Get in" he simply says as we get into the car. Sitting beside him always makes my stomach flutter. "Are you ok?" he said, genially concerned about me. I give him a reassuring smile "I'm fine. Thank you for helping me... but what just happened why did they come after me like that."

"Have you not seen the news. You have been the cover of every magazine" he says causing my eyes to pop open. I quickly open my phone and look through all the things about me. I gasp as I feel the tears swell up "Gold digger, newest play toy, slept her way to the top" the list went on as I ignored all the positives and only zoomed into the negative. As I was reading, I hadn't even noticed I was being held in Ace's arms as tear after tear dropped.

"T-this isn't true I-I" barely able to speak as I felt my whole career just break in front of me. "I know which is why I've spoken to my agent and will be having everything fixed by the morning. Also, I'll be picking you up at 9 am tomorrow." He said causing me to be instantly confused. "my mother requested to see you tomorrow also I'm going to dinner later that evening and I wanted you to come with me," he says as I blush, does he mean a date?! I simply nod not knowing what to say.

As we arrive in front of my house the car comes to a stop. "Thank you again you always seem to be there when I need you," I say as I collect my things. He then smiles causing my heart to warm.

"I'll see you tomorrow."

*Later That Night*

My mind wanders on the idea of him and I going on a date... should I even go? Honestly, everyone will start thinking bad about me and he's my boss. I begin to feel my tears swell in my eyes. I don't know what to do.

It's getting pretty late... I should probably go to sleep.

*Ping*

I grab my phone to see a text from Ace.

Be ready at 9 am sharp-Ace.

Even in his text messages, he sounds so bossy. Yeah, I'll admit he's extremely attractive.

And then it hit me. "I REMEMBER WHERE I SEEN HIM" I gasp as it all came back to me.
