Lena

I pulled the last roller out of my hair, biting down on my bottom lip as it fell past my shoulder. I ruffled my fingers through the curls, checking my phone.

[From: Baby]
I'll be on my way in a few. I'm sorry

I let out a loud sigh and gently placed my phone on the counter. I looked at myself in the mirror, pulling my dress down a bit more.

I turned off the bathroom light and walked into our bedroom, grabbing my clutch and jacket. Only Josiah King could get a pass for being late to his own dinner.

I turned off the bedroom light and walked downstairs, placing my clutch on the counter. I waited patiently for my fiancé to walk through the door.

A few minutes passed and the door quietly opened. He stepped inside and stopped when he saw me standing at the counter.

"We're late," I said, my eyes locked on his.

"I-I know that," he softly muttered, shrugging out of his jacket.

I bit down on my lip, shrugging. "We need to leave."

"Not yet."

He walked towards me and I grabbed my clutch, brushing past him.

"Lena," he cautiously said.

"You're making both of us look like idiots," I said, spinning around to face him.

"How am I doing that?" He asked, rolling his sleeves up, revealing his forearms inch by inch.

He knows his forearms make me stutter.

I decided to ignore his veiny forearms. "You do this."

"I do what?" He asked, gripping his hips.

"You stress yourself out, and you act erratic. Jo, what is up with you?"

"I'm sorry I have a billion-"

"Jo," I said, leaning my head back, "I know you're stressed. But you don't have to act like that."

"Act like what?" He asked, his voice raising.

"Lower your voice," I asked, "please."

"Act like what?" He asked, a much calmer tone this time.

"You're shutting yourself out from everyone, including me. You do this when you get stressed. We can do it together, Jo."

"I've told you that you're going to have to settle on the fact that I will not drag you into my mess."

"So what happens in a few months when I have your last name, Jo?" I asked, shaking my head, "what are you expecting?"

"I'm expecting to fuck you. A lot."

I bit my tongue. "Jo."

"Maybe then I won't be so stressed," he said, "making us look like idiots. Shutting myself out from the world."

I grabbed his arm before he could walk past.

"You're going to take your dress off as soon as we walk in the house," he said, nodding down at me, "no negotiations."

My breathing became more rapid. I felt my stomach do a somersault, making me peel my eyes away from his.

"Look at me," he said, grabbing my chin.

I looked up at him, biting down on my bottom lip. I had no desire whatsoever to even go to this dinner now.

"Do you know where everything is?" He asked, looking down at me.

I nodded, my mind definitely wandering to thoughts of what he'd be doing to me after dinner.

"Good girl." He pulled me into him and pressed a kiss to my forehead, stepping away from me.

"You look beautiful," he said, trailing his eyes down my body.

"Jo," I breathlessly muttered, "I-I don't want to go anymore."

"Shh," he whispered, lifting my dress. He brushed his knuckle against my underwear and I tightly grasped his forearm, squeezing my eyes shut.

"We've got to," he said, "I promise, it won't take long."

He knelt down and pulled my underwear down my legs. I stepped out of them and he placed them in his pocket, draping my jacket around my shoulders after. "You're warm enough?"

I nodded, biting down on my lip. "Yeah."

"Good," he said, "let's get this out of the way."

Lena

"Two hours, Jo!" I yelled, opening the door.

He slammed it shut and I worked the zipper of my dress, letting out an angry scream when I couldn't open it on my own.

"Two hours of wanting you," I sneered. He pushed me against the nearest sturdy surface and unzipped my dress, pulling it off of my body.

He pressed his lips against mine and I wrapped my arms around his neck. Things were crashing to the floor, but I couldn't have cared less.

I unbuttoned his shirt, allowing it to hang on his shoulders as I pressed kisses to his neck, his chest, his defined abdomen.

He boosted me up into his strong arms. I wrapped my legs around his middle and my back hit the plushy couch soon enough.

"Everything's upstairs, Jo."

"I don't care."

He pulled away from my body, on his knees between my legs. I lifted myself up on my elbows and watched as he pushed his shirt off of his shoulders, his muscles rippling with every movement.

I pressed my hand flat against his abdomen. "You're not getting off this easily."

"Yeah?" He asked, knitting his brows together.

"Yeah," I said, "you made me wait two hours. Because you were talking about cars."

"Cars were the last thing on my goddamn mind, Lena."

"Obviously not," I whispered, trailing my foot up his abdomen. I rested my leg on his shoulder and tilted my head over.

He chuckled, nodding. "Okay."

I was already lacking underwear, considering how things had unfolded earlier. I was left in my thigh highs and a bra, nothing else.

He wrapped his arm around my thigh and before I could even think, he dove down between my legs.

"Oh, my God," I moaned, looking down at his dark locks.

He threw my leg over the back of the couch, granting himself better access. Of course I was dripping for him, and I'd even checked the seat of the lovely, expensive restaurant we'd had dinner at to make sure that wasn't blatantly obvious before we left.

I gripped his hair. I was unable to make out any words. It felt like it'd been ages since we'd even gotten the chance to be intimate with one another.

Although this wasn't very intimate.

I lifted myself up on my elbows, raking my fingers through his hair. His eyes met mine as his tongue continued to work me over.

I leaned my head back, closing my eyes. His mouth felt much better than the toy I'd been forced to become best friends with.

His arms wrapped around the tops of my thighs and pulled me closer to him. I fell on my back and let out a sigh, raking my fingers through his hair yet again. I knew he loved it.

He pulled away from me and I whimpered, looking up at him. "Why?"

He pulled my bottom lip down with his thumb, his eyes looking deep into mine. He leaned down and pressed a kiss to my lips, making me pull his hips closer to me.

He pulled away and bit down on his bottom lip. "I just have other plans."

Jo

I leaned back in my chair, holding my glass of whiskey as I overlooked the city. Buzzing nightlife- somehow, I'd never really been a part of it.

I took a sip and placed my glass on the table next to me. Everything was silent, except for Lena's quiet purring in her sleep.

Lena was a soft woman. Everything about her. And I'd somehow found a way to beat myself up over the events of earlier.

I leaned my head back, rubbing my eyes. I wanted to sleep, but my body was disagreeing with me.

I heard shifting in the bed, making me look over at Lena. She raised up and rubbed her eyes. "Jo?"

"I'm over here," I answered. She grabbed her robe and wrapped it around her naked body, clumsily walking over to me.

"Hi," I greeted, rubbing her thigh. She straddled my lap and gently rested her head on my chest.

"It's late," she whispered, wrapping her arms around my middle.

I rubbed her back, nodding. "I know. I can't sleep."

She leaned up, raking her fingers through my hair. "Why?"

I shook my head, gently rubbing her cheek.

She pulled my lips to hers, resting her hands on my shoulders. "I enjoyed tonight."

"I'm glad you did."

"You didn't?" She asked, tilting her head over as she pulled away.

I bit down on my lip, stroking her thigh with the pad of my thumb. "That wasn't us."

"We're re-establishing who we are, Jo," she softly said, "it's been a while. Really."

"That will never be us," I said, "I acted just like him."

"Just like who?"

"Dad," I muttered, rubbing my jaw.

"Jo," she said, settling herself more comfortably on my lap.

"I don't want to be that," I said, "sure. I always wondered how he could make Adora sound like she was getting her arm ripped off-"

She cut me off with a laugh, shaking her head.

"But I-I don't know."

"Well," she muttered, pressing her palms against my chest, "I liked tonight. It worked for me."

She pressed a kiss to my cheek, pulling away from me. "Come to bed soon?"

She picked up my glass of whiskey and downed the rest of it, letting out a sigh. "So you can finally get to sleep."

I smiled, nodding. "I'll be there in a second."
