Alexis

Fred watched me shovel my breakfast in my mouth, a concerned expression etched onto his features.

"Do you want more?"

"Is that even a question?" I asked, looking up at him as he stood up.

He chuckled, bringing me two more pieces of bacon. He scooped some eggs out of the skillet and onto my plate, smiling. "There you are."

"Thank you," I said, "I mean, you kind of knew better."

He lifted an eyebrow and took a sip of his apple juice. "Yeah?"

"Yeah," I said, delicately dabbing the corner of my mouth, "I'm feeding three humans."

"Right," he said, "yeah, how'd I miss that?"

I shot him a glare, making him chuckle and look down. "All jokes."

"I hope it's two girls," I said, "I want to have them matching every day of their lives."

"Girl and a boy," he said, "easy. I've got to be a girl dad."

"Yes, I can't wait to see the double standard."

He shook his head. "My son will have the same restrictions as my daughter. Mark my words."

"I'll believe it- shh."

I smiled a pleasant smile at Milo as he jogged downstairs. "Hey, sleepyhead."

"Hey," he greeted, smiling.

"What time did you get in last night?" I asked, wrapping an arm around his neck for a hug.

"Ah, Fred was up," he said, "it was, what, one?"

"Yeah," Fred answered, "did you get any sleep?"

"Yeah, yeah," he said, nodding, "Jo doesn't mind me being with you today, does he?"

He shook his head. "Jo's not even here, he's in Italy."

"Why's he in Italy?" Milo curiously asked.

"His marriage counselor said they needed to get away."

Milo's jaw dropped. "They're in marriage counseling?"

Fred nodded. "Yep."

"And you didn't tell me that their marriage was on the brink of extinction?"

"Why would I have told you that, Mi," Fred deadpanned, wiping down the counter.

"Uh, Lena."

"You're a piece of shit," I muttered, picking around my eggs, "I'm not hungry anymore."

"I'm kidding," he said, "when you truly love someone, you just want them to be happy. With or without you."

Fred couldn't help his chuckle. "You are one dramatic fucker."

Milo laughed, opening the fridge. "Does Cecilia still work for you?"

"Yep, haven't run her off yet," Fred said, "surprised? Me, too."

I smiled, taking a sip of my apple juice. "Why do you ask?"

Milo leaned his head back. "Lex."

"I'm curious," I said, folding my hands under my chin.

"She is too young for me," he said, grabbing my shoulders.

"She's legal, Mi."

"Yes, she's legal, but I don't want an eighteen year old. Do you know how dramatic they are?"

"Says you," Fred butted in, "you literally just got done reciting a soap opera about Lena."

Milo shook his head, leaning against the counter. "No, that's different."

I shrugged, standing up. "I think Cecilia's cute, sweet, girlfriend material, wife material-"

"You're scaring me," Milo said, plugging his ears.

"You can't be terrified of settling down, you know," I said, resting my chin on Fred's shoulder, "if you want a family, then you kind of have to settle down."

He shrugged. "Maybe one day."

I smiled up at Fred, biting down on my bottom lip. "I promise, settling down is going to do you a lot more good than bad."

Lena

"Morning," Jo greeted, walking into the bathroom.

"Hi," I said, smiling at him through the mirror.

He pressed a kiss to my cheek. "How'd you rest?"

"Good," I said, "you?"

He smiled, nodding as he pushed his sweatpants down. "Yeah, I slept great."

I pulled my glasses off of my face, but squinted when I saw him undressing behind me.

I leaned into the mirror to get a good look, further and further until my face collided with the glass.

I cupped my nose. "Ow."

Jo chuckled, rushing over to me. "How'd you manage that?"

"R-reaching for my contact case," I said, smiling up at him as he cupped my face.

He tapped my nose. "You might need to put them in."

I scrunched my nose up to hopefully stop the tickling. I'd obviously busted my nose on the mirror.

I grabbed my contact case, popping one contact in my eye. He slipped his boxers down his legs, and his backside was on full view.

He turned on the shower, holding his hand under the water until it was at his desired temperature. I quickly popped my other contact in and turned around to face him.

The glass was quickly fogging up, and soon enough, all I could see was a silhouette. I chewed on my bottom lip, twiddling my thumbs in front of my stomach.

Don't do it.

Do it.

I stripped out of my nightgown, throwing it to the side. I shifted from foot to foot in front of the shower before reaching for the door handle.

He looked over his shoulder, continuing to wash his face. "Hi."

I smiled, nodding towards the shower head. "Just washing off."

"For sure," he said, nodding.

I stood behind him, my eyes fixated on his pert backside.

I bit down on my bottom lip and grinned, wrapping my arms around him. I trailed my hands up his midsection, to his chest, and back down to his hips.

I pressed a kiss to his back, looking up at him.

"Is someone needy today?" He asked, leaning his head back.

I stood on my tip-toes, pressing a kiss to his neck. "Maybe."

He covered my hands with his, spinning us around. I giggled, bracing my hands against the glass.

He trailed one of his hands up my side, his lips against my cheek. "Stop."

"And if I don't want to?" I asked, my eyes locked on his as I pushed my backside into him.

He pressed a kiss to my temple, clearing his throat. "Then deal with it."

He stepped away from me and I chewed on my bottom lip.

"You won't do it," I quietly said, turning around to face him.

He leaned his head back, wiping his eyes. "Yeah. Because she said not to."

"Yeah, and since when do you follow orders given by someone else?"

"When their orders have a chance of saving my marriage."

I sighed, resting my face against his back. We didn't say a word, we just allowed the water to beat down on us.

He pulled my hands up to his mouth and pressed a kiss to the back of them. "Let's shower and go get food."

He began to pull away from me, but I held him close. "Hey, before you go."

He looked down at me, his jaw taut.

"I love you," I said, resting my chin against his shoulder, "I haven't told you that while you could remember it, so."

He turned around to face me, wrapping his arms around my neck. "I remember last night."

I melted in his arms. He was all I wanted, all I had wanted for weeks. Just a hug, from him.

"And I love you, too."

Milo

"Seriously, thank you guys for all the help today," Fred chuckled out, rubbing his eyes as he patted Alexis's hip.

"Did you order ham and pineapple?" I asked, peeking over her shoulder.

"Yes," she said, "get off."

"I was just wondering," I said, "I'm starved, Lex."

"You're just fine," she said, "you should try being me."

Fred looked up at her, almost as if he was stopping her from saying something.

I could tell they had a secret, and they were keeping it from me.

"Mi, you get to go and grab the pizza."

"They don't deliver?" I asked, leaning against the wall.

"Nope," she said, "it's already been paid for, with a nice tip. Since you ordered five pizzas."

"There are precisely four people to feed, and I'm a generous guy."

"You can call yourself that when you pay for it."

I shrugged. "My idea."

"Do you want me to come with?" Fred asked, "you're not going to be able to get five-"

"Uh, why doesn't Cecilia tag along?" Alexis suggested, sitting on the corner of Fred's desk.

Cecilia smiled, tucking her hair behind her ear. "That's o-"

"No, seriously," Alexis adamantly stated, "it'll be a nice getaway from the office."

I nodded towards Cecilia, holding up my keys. "Come on."

She smiled up at me and I grabbed her coat for her, holding it out to her. She slipped into it and I pulled her close, looking over my shoulder to make sure Alexis and Fred weren't paying us any mind.

"That's their way of kicking us out so they can have sex."

"Gross," Cecilia giggled, stepping into the elevator. I chuckled and followed shortly after, and we flew down thirty floors.

"Can I guess which car is yours?" She asked, smiling up at me.

"Go for it."

"The Challenger. One thousand percent-"

I hit the unlock button on my keys, smiling down at her. "Yeah, you fucking thought."

"Wow," she said, wrapping her arms around herself as we walked outside, "impressive."

"I'd be lying if I said this wasn't Fred's hand-me-down," I said.

I opened her door for her and rushed around to my side, slipping inside the car. "God, it's cold."

I turned on the car and rubbed my hands together, turning on the heat.

"So Fred gave you this?"

"Yep," I said, "he got this car for his eighteenth birthday."

"Wow, it aged well," she said, brushing her fingertips against the wood grain.

I backed out of my parking space. "I'd also be lying if I said I hadn't had a ton of upgrades done."

She smiled, nodding. "It's nice."

I chewed on my bottom lip, leaning back against my seat. I drummed my fingers against the steering wheel, and we drove in utter silence through the array of huge buildings.

"So, are you staying here for a while?" She asked, biting down on her bottom lip.

I shrugged. "I like the getaway from Seattle."

"I think you'd fit in great."

I smiled, stopping at the red light. I cleared my throat and looked over at her, trailing my eyes down her body.

"Damn," I blurted, when my eyes landed on her stockings. I was expecting pantyhose from Cecilia, not thigh-high stockings.

"What?" She asked, looking over at me.

I shook my head, covering my mouth with my fist. "N-nothing."

She smiled a soft smile, nodding. "Okay."

I looked over at her, my jaw taut. "When are we going to get this out of the way?"

"What?" She asked, yet again, innocently.

"Sex," I said, "we obviously want to have sex with each other."

Her jaw fell slack, and she tried to hide it by turning her head away from me. "M-Milo."

I stepped on the gas pedal, keeping my eyes glued to her. "Unless that's one sided."

She didn't respond, but I could see her bite her lip out of the corner of my eye.

"If you don't want to, I can completely retract that st-"

"No," she blurted, "that's not it. At all."

I nodded, licking my bottom lip. Are you thinking? Not really. Are you being impulsive? Absolutely. Has being impulsive ever resulted in anything good? No.

But has that ever stopped you? No.

I pulled over into an empty parking space, nodding down at my lap. "Well, let's get this over with, then."

She nodded, climbing into my lap. "Yeah, let's do that."
