Fred

"Got it, Mi?"

Milo tilted his head over. "Do you know how many times I did this for your dad?"

I chuckled, following him to my office. He threw the huge box down on my desk, sucking in a breath when my desk squeaked.

"You're paying for the damage," I said, nodding towards him.

He chuckled, resting his hands on his hips as he admired my office. "This is so nice. Really motivates me to actually do something with my life."

He walked over to my window, leaning against it. "Ah, sunlight. Seattle is stingy with its sun."

"Tell me about it," I muttered, looking back at my door as soon as it opened.

"Hi, Mr. King," Cecilia greeted, waving as she shrugged out of her coat.

"Hi," I said, "beautiful day, yeah?"

"For sure," she said, and her eyes met Milo's.

"Cecilia, this is Milo," I said, "Alexis's younger brother."

She plastered on a smile, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose. "H-hi. I'm Cecilia."

He stuck out a hand, grinning. "Milo, obviously. Nice to meet you."

She shook it, smiling up at him. I clapped my hands, rolling up my sleeves. "It's gonna be a productive day."

I didn't get a response out of either of them, so I glanced over at the pair. Cecilia was still admiring Milo, and Milo was fixated on the view from my window.

"Hey, Cecilia."

She didn't respond, just continued to twirl a strand of hair around her finger.

I snapped my fingers, earning her attention.

"It's time to work," I said, cracking a small smile.

"Right," she answered, nodding as she stumbled out of my office.

I chuckled, sitting on the edge of my desk. "So. Girls?"

Milo shook his head. "At this point, I'm better off to just give up."

"Ah, don't say that," I said, "I thought the same when your sister and I broke up."

"Yeah, well, Lex is an actual decent girl," he said, "the ones I have to choose from aren't."

"Someone's going to come around eventually," I said, "you just have to be patient."

"Yeah, well, patience doesn't run in the family."

"Ask your sister about that, considering she made me wait a year for sex."

He chuckled, shaking his head. "That's just not even right, man."

"Tell me about it."

"But, I did see the hottest girl at the airport," he began, sitting on the edge of my desk, "I've never seen anyone that looks like h-"

We were both caught off guard when we noticed Cecilia standing at the door, nervously pushing her glasses up.

"I-I just wanted to remind you that your wife is coming at eleven. And you have a meeting at one."

I smiled, nodding. "Thank you."

She bit her lip and turned around, walking out of my office with a look of defeat on her face.

"How old is she?" He asked, looking at me.

"Eighteen," I said, "interested?"

He chuckled. "No. She just looks young."

I knew she had a crush on him, I could tell by the way she'd completely zoned out staring at him just a few minutes earlier.

"So, you and I get to legally have drinks together tonight, right?" He asked, winking as he stood up from my desk.

"Don't get too excited, kid," I said, "which is exactly what you still are."

He opened my office door, leaning against the threshold. "Hey, Cecilia?"

She looked up from her desk.

"What time's my sister coming over again?" He asked, folding his arms over his chest.

She bit down on her lip, hesitating for a moment before scrambling to find something. She held up a sticky note, squinting at it. "E-eleven."

He smiled, nodding. "Thanks."

She matched his smile, hers was just a bit less suave. I chuckled, shaking my head, realizing I'd have a lot to deal with for the next week.

Alexis

"So, you invited Cecilia over for dinner?"

I looked back at Fred, tucking a chunk of hair behind my ear. "Yeah."

He leaned against the counter. "So she could be more awkward around Milo than she already is?"

I giggled, chopping up a tomato. "I think she could probably use the company."

He shrugged, wrapping his arms around me from behind. I pressed a chaste kiss to his cheek, patting his hands that were covering my stomach.

He didn't let go as I'd figured he would. He just sighed, resting his cheek on my shoulder. I placed my knife on the cutting board, knitting my brows together.

"Are you okay?" I asked, gently stroking his face.

He nodded. "Long day."

I smiled. "Well, lucky you, you get to come home to me."

He matched my smile, pressing a kiss to my lips. "Makes everything worth it."

"Gross," Milo jokingly said, leaning against the fridge with a smile.

"Hey, it's your time to shine. Come help me dice tomatoes."

"I have a thing," he muttered, looking down at his watch.

"Yes, you do. Chopping tomatoes."

He leaned his head back with a sigh. "You know what happened when I was sixteen."

"You're twenty-one now, all grown up. I think it's safe for you to use a knife now."

He shook his head, shooting Fred a glance. "A beer after this."

"I invited Cecilia," I said, glancing over at Milo.

He knitted his brows together, looking over at me. "Yeah?"

I nodded. "Don't you think she's cute?"

Milo carefully thought his answer through. "I-I'm into blondes."

I let out a sigh, placing my knife on the cutting board. I turned to face him, my hand resting on my hip.

Milo popped a sliver of a tomato in his mouth, cautiously shooting me a glance. "What?"

"You are into toxic girls," I corrected, rolling my eyes.

"So Cecilia's definitely not my type."

"Which is exactly what you need," I said, "I can't handle any more broken hearts from you."

"She's just not my type," he said.

"Right, because you're planning on scoring a pornstar," Fred said, folding his arms over his chest as he grinned.

He winked, making me slap his arm. "Milo, she's cute."

He let out a chuckle, shrugging. "She's cute. Kid cute. She's so young-"

"She's eighteen, Milo," I said.

"Young," he said, nodding, "I'd be better off to shoot myself in both kneecaps and bleed out rather than get involved with an eighteen year old."

Fred choked on his own spit, covering his mouth with his fist. I looked over my shoulder at him, narrowing my eyes slightly.

"Sorry," he muttered, clearing his throat.

"Sis," he said, leaning against the counter, "playing matchmaker needs to not be a hobby of yours."

"I'm a wedding planner, dipshit," I deadpanned.

"For people that are already together, dipshit," he countered, earning a slap on the arm from me.

"Alright," Fred said, pushing us apart, "Alexis, you refrain from playing matchmaker. Milo, you refrain from being a dick. How's it sound? Good? Great."

Milo (!)

"Still pisses me off that Jo got to Lena before I was legal, but whatever," I muttered, taking a sip of my beer.

"Like you could've swayed her and made her go to you, right," Alexis said, nodding as she gently stroked Fred's arm.

I leaned my head back against my chair, smiling. "That woman is perfect. Do you hear me?"

Alexis's eyes locked on mine, she tilted her head. "I thought you were into blondes."

Alexis and I both looked at Cecilia. I chuckled, shaking my head. "Lena's the exception."

"Lena's Josiah's wife, correct?" Cecilia quietly asked, looking between the two of us.

I sighed. "Yep. Off limits, unfortunately enough."

She nodded, biting down on her lip. She looked towards the pool, not saying a word.

"I can invite her over," Fred said, "make you really awkward."

I chuckled, placing my beer on the table beside me. "My game has seriously improved, man."

"Oh, my God, I already see it," Alexis said, standing up, "Milo's game is so good that he sways Lena out of her marriage!"

I rolled my eyes. "Keep on joking."

Alexis giggled, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. "Fred and I are going in. You two stay out as long as you'd like."

Cecilia watched the pair walk inside, letting out a quiet sigh.

"So, college," I began, looking over at her.

She looked over at me, her hands resting on her knees that were pulled into her chest.

"What are you majoring in?"

"I-uh, journalism."

I nodded. "Nice. Business management."

"That's cool," she said, nodding over at me. She quickly looked away, earning a grin from me.

I stood up, folding my arms over my chest. "That pool looks seriously intriguing currently."

"I-I'm sure it's cold."

I shrugged, stripping out of my clothes. Cecilia covered her eyes, earning a laugh from me. "One, I'm in my underwear, and two, I'm featured in a pornhub video. You might've already seen everything I've got."

"No," she quickly denied, shaking her head, "absolutely not."

I jumped into the heated pool, chuckling as soon as I came up from underwater. "You should jump in, it feels nice."

I folded my arms on the concrete, resting my chin on top of them as I closely examined her. I couldn't tell if she was into me, or if she wasn't.

"Polite pass," she said, her eyes locked on mine.

"Come on," I said, pushing myself off of the side, "it's heated."

"I don't have a suit, and I'm not taking off my clothes."

"Cecilia," I said, looking over at her, "despite what you might believe about males, we don't blow our load when we see a woman in underwear and a bra."

Her eyes went wide and I could see her gulp. She shook her head. "I'm about to have to go. It's late."

She stood up and I smiled, pushing myself up and out of the pool. She watched my every move, her mouth slightly agape.

I grabbed a towel, wrapping it around my hips with a smile. I placed a hand on her shoulder, winking down at her.

"It was nice to really meet you."

She nodded, watching me walk inside with a smile on my face.
