I woke with a start, my head was laid on Lucas' chest, and my legs intertwined with his. I pushed myself off of him quickly. He was already awake, he was staring back at me while I processed what had happened last night.

Once my body was off of his he stood up quickly. He was still wearing his dress suit, even his shoes were still on his feet, meaning he didn't move from me at all last night. His hair was arranged messily atop his head.

I opened my mouth to speak but he cut me off before I could utter a word.

"You're going to spend today with Penny, Zeke is too busy. She is going to catch you up on the ceremony. I hope you remember that part of our conversation from last night." He said to me in a business type manner. Of course, I remember it, along with other things.

He fixed the wrinkles on his clothes and ran his fingers through his hair. "We'll meet tomorrow." He said and turned on his heel, quickly exiting the room.

Tomorrow?

Lucas had brought me to the room I've been staying in for the past couple of days. I got up from the bed reluctantly. Despite the heat, last night I had one of the best periods of sleep I've ever had.

I looked at the door that Lucas left through and placed on the floor near it was the bags of clothing I had bought when I had gone shopping with Jesse yesterday. I walked towards it and bent my knees to grab some clothes from it, not missing the noise of my knees cracking. I grabbed a big olive green shirt, and a pair of black joggers, picking them up along with my undergarments I took off to go take a shower.

After a 30 minute hot shower, I walked out of the bathroom with my soaking wet hair. The ringlets causing the water to wet my back, I grimaced at the feeling and I slipped the towel around my shoulders so the towel could catch the drips.

I walked out of the bathroom and into my room, I was greeted by Penny, who was sitting on my bed criss-cross.

"Finally!" She exclaimed. "You took so long."

I stiffened slightly at seeing her but made sure not to show it. "Oh, I'm sorry," I whispered to her while playing with the end of my towel.

I saw her smile falter before it turned completely downcast. "I'm sorry about yesterday, Dawn. I let my anger get the best of me."

I plastered a sad smile on my face. "I just wish you hadn't." I walked closer towards her.

She looked down at the floor, "It's been eating me alive, I really wish I just listened to Zeke."

"Just don't do it again." I joked.

She let out a sigh of relief. "You have no idea how hard I was shitting myself after I realized what I had done." I giggled at her as I sat down on the bed next to her. "No really! You have no idea how badly I want- not even want, but need! How badly I need a friend. The only other person I talk to here is that dumb ass, Zeke, everyone else is too intimated by my status to come near me."

"Hey..." I nudged her shoulder. "Zeke's not all that bad." To which she responded with a guff.

We sat in a comfortable silence for a second before Penny got up while slapping her thighs. "Let's get you ready for your ceremony!" And she started marching off.

"Wait, wait, wait," I called out after her. "Isn't it tomorrow, why would I be getting ready now?" I said after catching up with her.

She hooked her arm with mine and started walking, "You see Dawn, the ceremony is at midnight. There are certain preparations we gotta make seeing as we only have around." She looked at her free arm and down to a tiny watch that was wrapped around it. "Thirteenth hours." Her face grimaced, "I hope Zeke can get everything prepared in time."

I still had many questions about this, no one really gave me a clear answer. "What happens during the ceremony exactly?" I asked her once we entered a room, I only could guess that it was her's. The whole castle had an organized theme, but this room shattered it. The walls were brightly painted. The entire room was a mess, nothing in order and clothes. I let out a low whistle at the sight of it and Penny shoved me playfully.

"Well, first the ceremony is deep in the woods, and the whole pack will be in attendance." My eyes bulged out of their sockets. "Think of it as you humans have weddings, it's basically like that."

"Wedding? IM GETTING MARRIED?" I exclaimed.

"Oh stop overreacting, I said it's like a wedding." She said while getting down on her knees, and pulling a box from out under her bed.

I started to breath faster and harsher, "Wedding... oh my god! Today is my wedding day and I'm just being told?" I threw my arms in the air. "I don't even know his middle name!"

"He doesn't have one." Penny simply stated, while putting the box on her bed.

"I'm pretty sure he hates me! Why would he even want to get married to me!?" I said, pointing a finger to my chest.

"Dawn shut the fuck up. You are not getting married! You are just accepting your mate tonight." She said. "Plus, he doesn't hate you."

I breathed a sigh of relief at her clarification. "Okay," I whispered. "What's with the box?" I asked.

She looked down at it with a soft smile. "We were going to make you your own dress for the ceremony, but we didn't have enough time." She said while opening up the box, she carefully pulled out a pure white dress.

(I always have trouble imagining dresses while reading so I added a picture to make it more clear.)

(Okay I don't know about yall, but this pic looks huge af on my laptop sdhjkh I'm sorry if it does on your devices too)

She pulled out a long thin-strapped dress out of the box, she set it down on the bed and I just stared back at it. It looked like a wedding dress.

She placed a lace cover-up on top of the dress and stepped back. She clasped her fingers together and looked at it too. "It was Auntie Esmee's." She whispered. "Lucas' mothers..." she added after a shaky breath.

"Was," I stated, to which Penny just nodded. "Does he know that I'll be wearing this?" I asked worriedly. Knowing that whatever bond we shared right now was heavily strained.

She shook her head. "He doesn't." She turned to look at my pale face. "Oh! Don't worry, I know he would love to see you wearing it." She reassured.

I tried to fight off the blush, but to no avail, Penny noticed it but didn't utter a single word about it. "Now, just a quick question. Do you know how to dance?"

"Dance?" I repeated.

She nodded, biting her lower lip. "Like a waltz, do you know how to?"

"Uh..." I thought for a second. "Does the tango count?" I asked.

She rubbed her temples, "Lord..."
