Mirra Prestessi and Herr Kaiser used the workstation standing at consoles opposite to each other. They were the only people in the room. Mirra's book lay closed on the console to her left.

Mirra looked intently at a small light-blue triangle in the circle in front of her.

"Okay Willhelm. That's going well from where I stand. The guys are doing a great job!"

Each one of the eight virtual circles marking a particular workspace overlapped on either side with its neighbor, creating elliptical shapes, giving the impression of linking all eight of the circles into a chain. With a content smile Mirra touched the small light-blue triangle and moved it into the ellipse she shared with the book.

"Yes dear, yes dear! That move you made with John was genius," said Herr Kaiser, tapping his screen, "I say we lock it in, save it in the book with the appropriate vectors and mark it as used."

"Boy Willhelm, if I had it in me to be flattered I would probably blush with pride to actually get a compliment from you for something I did without asking for your approval first."

"Na na dear child," said Herr Kaiser pointing to the fact that at the moment Mirra was wearing her fifteen-year-old look, "I have put you in charge of getting Julia back home safely and you know I am always true to my word."

"Yes Willhelm, your word is law and let's not forget it!" Mirra tapped a red square and moved it to the front of her screen, silently reminding Herr Kaiser that dear child or not, in the end everything that happened or not was always up to her and her book.
