Friday...

Football starts in about an hour. The guys and I already have our gear ready as we went through our plan once more. Our coach discussed the vital expectations in our game.

After a few minutes before getting prepared, I went out to the halls to get a drink from a water fountain when I passed by the choir room with the sound of people singing. Out of curiosity, I took a peak and checked inside to firstly see Zack standing by while watching a few kids including Noah, singing our national anthem. Zack saw me standing by the doorway and smiled as he made his way to me, "sup, You guys getting ready for the game?" He asked.

I nodded at him. I pointed over at the group of harmonizers, "you're not singing with them?" I said.

Zack let out a small awkward laugh, "y-yeah..." he mumbled as he looked over at the others. Noah looked at me with a grin while keeping a good focus on the conductor.

"Bro, you wanted to be in choir yet you don't wanna sing along?" I shook my head, somewhat disappointed for him while I leaned on the frame and watched them rehearse.

After finishing up, I gave them a clap white wolf-whistled but mostly directed to Noah. The others chuckled and laughed as Noah covered himself and hid behind Ethan. I grinned and went over to them, "can't wait to hear you out on the field," I said and peered over Ethan's shoulders. Noah let out a bashful laugh as he separated himself from Ethan. "I can tell your voice apart from everyone else's. You've got a good voice you know," I said playfully.

Noah's face began to grow even redder, "t-thanks..." he mumbled ever so cutely, "actually, this is my first time performing along for the games," he said.

"Well, I would know because I always play in the games and I never see you sing with the others," I crossed my arms.

"After a lot of convincing, he finally mustered the courage to join us," Ethan gave a pat on Noah's back.

"Okay dude, I think you should start getting ready for the game," Zack said, placing his hand on my shoulder and turning me around.

I gave him a look annoyance and muttered, "geez, what a cock block." With that retort, pretty sure mostly everyone heard what I said including the choir teacher who sort of looked disturbed but shook his head. Kate let out a snakey laugh while Annabel stared at me with pink-tinted cheeks. Noah had completely lost it and started pushing me towards the exit, "okay okay! Go meet up with your football friends already you idiot!"

I gave him a gleeful smile, "alright, see you later," I said, ruffling his hair. He glared at me with puffed cheeks and with strands that have fallen on his face. I start walking away with a huge grin. Can't he get any more adorable?

With our football uniforms on, we jogged out to the brisk field with a noisy crowd roaring with excitement. On the other side stood the team of our rival school and was easily able to point out Damian, one of their star players. Their side of the bleachers are supporters of the opposition. After a while, the people fell silent as Mr.Gil stood facing towards our direction with a microphone, "good evening TopStar and Wolverine high," his voice echoed as everyone cried out with exhilaration. Like every other time, Mr. Gil would declare a speech and then ask the audience to rise up to their feet for the anthem. As told so, the people got up from their seats and watched as the group of singers with Zack holding the nation's flag enter and positioned themselves at the middle of the field. I smiled as I gazed at Noah, his eyes glued at Mr. Gil as he motioned them to take a breath. Once he started conducting, Noah and the others began to sing while we all fell quiet and listened. I smiled as I watched but noticed how Noah and Annabel held each other's hands while sneaking glances at each other once in a while. I don't know why, but it made me uneasy to look at the intertwined hands. I just kinda wanted to pull them apart and... I shook my head and tried to disregard those thoughts and feelings. Damn... I can't believe I'm feeling envious or jealous about it. I just need to remember: Noah's gay, Annabel can't take him, and he's mine and she knows it.

They ended the song and everyone clapped their hands as the choir kids bowed down with smiles on their faces. They made their way out of the field. I looked to see Noah take a glimpse at me with a smile before walking alongside Annabel with the same smile while she led him to the bleachers with his other friends. I sighed as we started getting ready. I turned to look at Jackson and Liam beside me. "Ready?" Liam Jackson grinned at me. I nodded then went out to our positions.

Let's do this.
