{ No Other Choice }

“Alexandro, if this is some joke; then it’s not funny. Just get your men to stop following me around.” I said with a serious tone. I was in no mood to deal with anything related with Alexandro.

“Marie, I swear that I do not have men following you. But if there is, I need you to tell me how they look. Can you do that for me?”The sound of his voice sounded worried, but mixed with anger in it. If he sounded like this then he had to be telling me the truth and those men aren’t working for him. My anger vanished and was replaced with what felt like fear. Why would someone want to follow me around? I have nothing to offer. “Marie? Marie, are you there?”

“Yeah. Yeah, I’m here,” I answered coming out of my thoughts. I decided to listen to Alexandro and turned back towards the men to describe them to him. Unfortunately when I turned back, they were gone. I spun around trying to find them among the crowd of shoppers…..nothing. “Sammy! Where did they go?” I asked frantically. Ignoring Alexandro’s voice asking me what was going on, I waited for Sammy to answer.

“I-I don’t know. I was looking at you the whole time.” This can not be good. For all I know they could be wanting to kidnap me and ask for ransom. I’m poor, no one is going to give up money for me! I mentally slapped myself for overreacting. I needed to get my shit together.

“Marie! Answer me. What is going on?” I completely forgot about him. I quickly told him that the guys had disappeared. When he asked to describe as much as I could remember; I told him they were pretty tall and dressed in mostly black, but they had a bad vibe to them.

“Okay look, Marie. I’m going to need for you to listen and obey me. Please, those guys do not work for me...”

I nodded my head but then remembered he couldn’t see me, “Yeah, okay.”

“Good. Now I need for you to go back home. Make sure that no one is following you. As soon as you get home, you stay there. I’m on my way,” he instructed. I could hear noises on the other end of the line as he moved around.

“You don’t even know where I live.” I grabbed Sammy by the hand and pulled her away from the stands and back towards my car. I kept looking around me, like some paranoid person, making sure no one was following us. Sammy continued to ask me what was happening, but I couldn’t concentrate on her at the moment.

“Don’t worry, I know where you live.”

“What? How do you know where I live?!...” How the hell does he know where I live? He is such a freaking stalker if he knows where I live.

“Just do as I told you,” with that the line went dead. I groaned and put my phone away again. Getting into my car, I turned it on and waited for Sammy to get in as well. When she did, I pressed on the petal and sped off.

About two minutes into the ride, Sammy spoke up, “Are you going to tell me what the hell is going on?! ‘Cause you keep looking at your rear mirror like someone is about to pop about.”

“Those guys from the market-the ones you saw- well it turns out they don’t work for Alexandro,” I explained giving her a quick glance.

“Meaning?” She asked in a quiet voice after a moment.

“I’m not really sure, but Alexandro said that I needed to get back home and that he’ll be over. And when he does, He is going to do some serious explaining as to what is going on.” The remainder of the ride was silent. I was in my own little world thinking about those guys and Alexandro. So much for a Alexandro-free day…

Sammy helped me with the grocery when we arrived to our apartment. We quickly walked across the parking lot and to the front door. “Do not say a word to Matt. Please?” I pleaded with Sammy. I didn’t want him worrying about something that we still weren’t sure about. She nodded her head in agreement. There was nothing to worry about at all….right?

When we stepped inside, we found Matt sitting on the couch with his feet up on the coffee table watching a football game on TV. I told them that I would be in the kitchen getting dinner ready and when Sammy tried to help I refused and told her it was my treat. She reluctantly agreed and left me alone to prepare dinner for three...well, four. Since Alexandro was coming over and I wasn’t going to be rude and not offer him food. Though I’m sure with the traffic there is-due to time- he’ll be here in a couple of hours. I’ll just leave it out on the side for him.

I began to get the ingredients out to make Sammy’s favorite dish. Once I chopped the first vegetable, which happened to be a carrot, I lost myself in the processes. That was the thing about cooking. It was like an escape for me. It helped me forget about my problems and worries. About an hour later, I was setting up the table and placing the food in the center. As I was placing the main dish down, Sammy walked in.

“Thank you so much for this. It really means a lot,” she embraced me in a hug. I let out a small laugh and replied, “It’s no problem. You’re my best friend and I wanted to do something special for you and Matt.”

She looked at the table once again with a smile. Suddenly her smile faded, “Why is there only three plates? Isn’t Mr. Billionaire coming over?”

“He is, but I highly doubt he’s going to be here any time soon.” Just as I finished saying that, the doorbell rang. I walked over to the living wondering who it could be. When I got there, I saw Matt introducing himself to someone. Walking closer I noticed that, the ‘someone’ was Alexandro.

“I thought you wouldn’t be here for another hour or so. How did you get here so fast?” I asked, as I stopped in front of him. Matt excused himself saying he was going to go check on Sammy. “I own a helicopter,” he replied eyeing the apartment.

“Of course you do…,” I mumbled under my breath, “Well since you’re here, would you like to have dinner?” His gaze returned to me and he nodded. I lead him towards the dining room and told him to take a seat. I walked back to the kitchen and grabbed extra eating utensils and a plate then placing them in front of Alexandro.

Dinner was served and it was the most awkward thing ever. I blame Mr. Big Shot for that. He was very intimidating and made me feel a little insecure about my cooking. I was worried that he wouldn’t like it because it wasn’t like the fancy dishes he was use to eating….Wait! What do I care if he likes my cooking or not. If he doesn’t then he can go to hell.

I stood up from the table, once I was finished, with the excuse of washing up the dishes. I took the dirty dishes into the kitchen and began the process of washing. Somewhere in between, Alexandro appeared and leaned against the doorway of the kitchen. “Do you need any help?”

“Uhm, no. It’s okay,” I dismissed. He walked into the kitchen and stood next to me, taking a drying cloth in one hand then grabbing the clean plate from my hand to dry. “Well, if you insist…”

“About those men, you called earlier about….I don’t know who they are, therefore, we need to seriously consider somethings. And by ‘we’, I mean you,” he said as he finished drying up another plate I handed over to him.

“What do you mean? What would I need to consider?” We finished the dishes and stood leaning against the counter side by side. I looked over at him waiting for his response. “You need to move in with me. If those men were following you, then you could be in danger and only I could protect you and make sure nothing happens to the baby,” he said with a serious voice. For some reason it hurt a little that he was only offering me protection because of the baby. Once again, I slapped myself mentally. Why would I expect anything from a man I just freaking met.

“I can’t move in with you. I’ve told this you before. I have my life here and you’re a stranger. I don’t know how many times I need to keep repeating this to you,” I straightened up and faced him.

“I know that Sammy will be moving out soon. What are you going to do then, huh? Are you going to be able to work and go to school and managing to keep up with paying the rent on your own? I’m pretty sure you’ll need to get a second job. All that right there, will cause stress; and that stress is bad for the baby and I won’t let that happened. So either you come willingly or I drag you myself. There’s no other option this time.” I wanted to slap him so hard across the face, maybe throw in a punch or two. What I would do once Sammy left was my problem and I could handle it!

“Go to hell.” Once those words left my mouth, the look that crossed Alexandro’s face made me think that I was in deep shit now.

Alexandro slowly made his way towards me, making my heart race. The smirk on his face was still present and I wanted nothing but to smack it right off. However, a part of me-the dirty naughty part- thought it was the most sexiest thing ever. I took a step back and continued to do so until by back was flush against the champagne colored wall.

In the next few strides, Alexandro’s body was right against my own. I could feel his warm-minty breath fan across my face. My own breathing became labored at the closeness of our bodies. His left hand gently caressed my arm all the way to my right hand. He wrapped his colossus hand over my own and slowly pried my fingers away from the vase. He placed the vase on a near by table, without once moving his body from mine.

His lips came down to my ear and seductively whispered, “I know you want me, mia bella.” He began to place butterfly kisses along my jaw and down to my neck. When he reached my soft spot, I couldn’t help the moan that escaped me.  I felt him smile against my skin. He continued to kiss, suck and nibbled all along my neck. Soft moans kept escaping me and my mind was beginning to blur with pleasure and want. When his lips made contact with my own, I immediately responded. Opening my mouth, he thrust his tongue in and began his exploration.  Pulling away he whispered once again, “ All you have to do is say it. Then, we could have all the fun you want….just say it.”

“I want…..”
