The sound of heels hitting the wooden boards in the docks made both Alexandro and I turn. As soon as I saw who was causing the noise and had called out to Alexandro, recognition and then annoyance hit me. A pretty red head with designer clothes and heels, was making her way towards us. I rose to my feet with the help of Alexandro and stood there watching the girl make her way to us. I kept staring at her, knowing exactly where I had seen her before. She was the girl I saw coming out of the Giovanni building the day I told Alexandro about my pregnancy. he was the one who was being a bossy bitch to the blonde girl!

“Alex baby!! I can’t believe it!” she screeched running up to Alex-who had a face of confusion- and wrapped her arms around his neck. Jealousy build up inside of me at the sight of her hugging him. Even more when Alexandro returned the hug! I closed my eyes briefly , taking in a deep breath. I needed to calm down.

“Sarah, what are you talking about?” So this was the Sarah Jacobs girl. Now I was annoyed and upset. Annoyed at her because…...well, because she just annoyed me and because she interrupted a nice moment Alexandro and I were having. Upset because she called Alexandro ‘baby’. I thought he said they had nothing going on!

She pulled away, but kept her hands around his neck as he had his on her hips. “Don’t act dumb with me. You know exactly what I’m talking about. You know, our engagement!!” My heart dropped and warm tears gathered in my eyes. I repeatedly blinked trying to get them away. I must have heard wrong, I wanted to believe that what Alexandro had just told me was the truth and I was just looking too much into this. However when Alexandro just stood there not saying anything...I had my answer. It was true.

“Not girlfriend, but fiancée, huh?” I choked out as the lump in my throat grew. As if both just realizing I was still there, they turned to me. Sarah just looked me up and down, like the first time she had, and grunted. Alexandro on the, otherhand, looked like a deer caught in headlights. I shook my head as a tear slowly rolled down my cheek. Turning on my heels I ran back to the house. I heard him call after me, but not once did I stop.

I through the door open to the room I was staying and quickly closed it behind me locking it. I went to the closet pulling out my suit case. I made my way back to the closet, grabbing all my clothes and putting it in the suit case. I was not getting in between them. It hurt that he had lied to me. It hurt that he was getting married. It hurt to think that I actually thought he could possibly see something in me. But most of all, it hurt that I had began to fall for Alexandro Giovanni.

Alexandro Giovanni watched as Marie ran away from him and his pleads to try and get her attention. He felt so stupid and guilty, but most of all; anger. He was mad at himself for not stopping this and for letting Marie run away from him without an explanation. With an angry groan, he ran his hands through his hair.

“Baby, are you okay? Who was that girl?” Sarah asked placing a hand on his arm. Alexandro shrugged it away glaring at her.

“Stop that, Sarah! Stop calling me your baby! I’m not your baby, okay?” he exclaimed looking at her straight in the eyes. Sarah flinched from the tone in his voice and the words. Shaking her head she spoke, “ I don’t understand. We’re getting married. Daddy said you had agreed and we were to get married. That’s why I came!!”

“We are not or ever will get married! How many times do I need to keep repeating myself, Sarah? I only see you as a friend, nothing more. I’m sorry if you think otherwise but it’s the truth,” Alexandro sighed at the end. Just in that moment, thunder was heard. Looking up, Alexandro could see the signs of a storm coming. Looking back at Sarah, who had her eyes wide open and a hurt expression, he continued; “I never agreed with your father. I don’t know why he would say something like that to you, but I need you to accept the truth.”

Sarah nodded her head slowly looking down. She really did love him and always has, but Alexandro never returned the feelings. That was another thing she knew as well, though, she had hoped that over time he might have. Remembering the girl she asked, “Who was she?”

Alexandro turned to look back towards the house, then returning his attention to Sarah. “She is someone very important to me. Someone I need to go fix and clear things with…..I’ll have a room ready for you. You can’t go back home tonight. There’s a storm coming in.” Alexandro turned and made his way to the house with the intention of getting Marie to listen to him, leaving Sarah standing on the dock.

Unaware to Alexandro, Sarah began to fume with jealousy. She hated the idea of some other worthless girl having the attention of her Alexandro. Her jaw locked in place as she fisted her hands staring after him. A few moments passed as a smirk slowly creeped it’s way to her lips. She was going to do anything in her power to get rid of her threat for Alexandro. And Marie was that threat.

~*~*~

Alexandro walked down the hallway, stopping in front of Marie’s room. Lifting a fist he slowly knocked. He hoped with all his might that she will give him a chance to explain things. He might not have showed it enough or at all, but he was falling for the women that carried his child. He wasn’t going to stop at anything until she forgave him and she was his.

Thinking that caused him to smile. Though she was a stubborn girl at time and liked to argue with him, there was just something about her. He knew it since the day he first laid eyes on her, back in the club in Italy. He thought he would never see her, but boy was he happy that she walked into her office almost a week ago. Huh, a week. Seems longer than that, he thought to himself.

Not receiving an answer, he knocked once again. He knew she was in there since he could hear movement and her sniffles. He felt like a complete asshole at hearing her. “Marie, please. Open the door. We need to talk.”

“Go away, Alexandro! I do not want to talk to you!” Marie yelled back from the other side of the doo. Alexandro jingled the door handle trying to get it to open, but had no lock since it was locked. He began to get annoyed at her stubbornness, and tried to get her to open the door again. But he was met with the same response. “Fine…,” he quietly whispered to himself. He walked away from the door and down the hallway.

Marie sighed from her spot next to the door. He had finally left her alone. Part of her wanted him to keep insisting, but the other part just wanted to be left alone. She looked at her-now fully packed- suit case sitting on top of the bed. Walking up to it, she grabbed it by the handle and pulled it to the floor. It was time for her to leave, she did not belong here. She looked up when she heard the room door slam against the wall.

There standing in the doorway with a triumphant smile, was Alexandro. He held a key in his left hand that was raised up to show Marie. He looked at her before his eyes looked down at the suitcase in her hand. Immediately his smile vanished.

“W-what are you doing?” he stuttered out. He looked back into Marie’s eyes hoping it wasn’t what he thought it was, but he was out of luck.

“I’m leaving, Alexandro. I do not belong here.”
