Jessica giggled as she watched Javier's hand trembling as he tried to button his shirt. She could tell he was nervous after having a talk with her brothers the night before. By the time he got to her room after they had arrived last night, he insisted they sleep with the door open and while she was under the cover he slept on top of it. When she had gone to snuggle up to him he had moved away from her so fast he almost fell off the side of the bed. Now as she sat criss crossed on her bed waiting for him to finish getting dressed for breakfast she could tell he was nervous about seeing her brothers again. She got up and walked over to him and brushed his fingers away so she could button him up herself.

"Ready?" She asked him

"Yeah"

She turned back to look at him when he pulled on her hand. She willingly went to him as he pulled her closer to him.

"What?" She asked smiling up at him.

"I really glad you brought me home for the holidays." he told her

"Me too. Christmas will be great with you here. " she told him.

"I hope so."

"Can we go eat now? I'm starving" she grabbed hold of his hand and pulled him with her out of the room.

As soon as they got to the bottom of the stairs she could smell her mother's chocolate chip pancakes. Jordan was always the one to make them since the accident. The hint of cinnamon teased her nose as she stepped into the kitchen. All her brothers stop talking and turned to look at them the minute they entered the kitchen. She looked around but saw no sign of Logan.

"Where's Logan?" She asked

She had invited him along for the holidays too.  She could tell he was still bent out of shape about this girl.

"He said something about meeting his science partner from highschool and he'd be back later" Jason replied

She turned to raise an eyebrow at Javier when she heard his low chuckle but he only shook his head and whispered later. She shrugged and went to pour them both a cup of coffee and handed one of the cups to Javier. As they sat down to eat she didn't miss the way Jordan kept giving them curious glances. She knew Javier noticed too because he would always tense up and turn to look at her.

"So Javier, how long are you here for?" Asked Jason asking the one question she's sure all her brothers wanted to.

"For as long as she wants me to be." he replied looking right at Jessica.

She blushed and turned to look at him earning herself a delicate stroke on her cheek. She got lost in the intensity of the love she saw in his eyes. Then they broke their gaze when they heard a loud scoff.

"The poor fellow is whipped" said Joseph

"That's the power of the...."

"Finish that sentence and I will stab you with my fork" Jordan warned Jason

"So violent" Jason mumbled

Jessica rolled her eyes but giggled when she noticed Javier's eyes dancing with laughter.

"If you must know not all of us go sleeping around." she told her brothers

"Oh please" Jason murmured earning himself another warning glare from Jordan.

"OK I'm out of here. I can't stick around to her my baby sister having this conversation." said Jordan quickly getting up from the table.

She heard the front door open but got curious when she didn't hear it close. The next thing she knew she heard the one voice she wished she could forget. She knew Javier had heard too by the way he went tense next to her. She turned to look at him and found him staring at her with an apologetic expression. When she heard Jordan's voice raise she pushed away from the table. She heard the scrape of chairs against the floor indicating the others had followed her too.

"There you are. Javier we need to talk." Bethany yelled over Jordan who was blocking her entry into the house.

This woman has some nerves.

"I've said all I needed to say to you to you in that letter. The necklace was my way of apologizing for you not getting what you want.  It's just not what I want and it's time to be true to myself and the woman I love. " Javier told him

"Are you kidding me? You're walking away from millions of dollars and the gallery for her?" Bethany asked

"I already told you I don't want all that if it means losing her." said Javier

"The gallery means everything to you." she told him

"Jessica mean everything to me. I'm not letting her go." he said

"If you give it all up you're going to end up hating her for it all." Bethany told him.

Jessica looked up at Javier and smiled. He smiled right back at her.

"That's impossible." they both whispered

Bethany huffed and stormed away,  shooting them glares until she was out of sight. Jessica turned to smile at her brothers who were now giving Javier an approving nod. Even Jordan's expression didn't look so worried anymore.

"Hey about Logan" Jessica said as they made their way to the barn. "Why did you laugh earlier?"

"Let's just say the man really got his memory and is picking up where he left off." Javier said smiling.

Jessica sent him a curious look.

"His science partner is really just a woman he hooks up with" Javier explained.

"Oh my gosh" she replied laughing while shaking her head.

At least we know Logan will be just fine.
