There is no way I can continue working with this woman. And god she is all woman. Curves in all the right places that could no doubt bring a grown man worshipping at her feet. Those feet so small and feminine, legs that goes on forever. With the most distracting pair of...

"I'm finished" her soft voice interrupted.

Eye, distracting pair of brown eyes.

He thought has he turned from his window to look at her face. He looked down at the paper she held out to him, then his eyes snapped right back to her face with a frown as he took the notes.

"Ms. Walters?" He said as he noticed some marks on the notes.

"Yes sir?"

"The paper is basically crushed and smeared with...what exactly is this brown spot?"

He tensed as she walked around his desk and brushed against him as she leaned over to look at the notes he held. He watch her touched her finger to the smudge and with a delicate flick of her tongue she swiped it from her finger.

"Chocolate!" She announced as if she had discovered a secret.

"And what if it had been something other than chocolate?"

"Then I'd be seriously grossed out right now"

"Ms. Walters!"

"Yes?"

Her tone was teasing which caused him to narrow his eyes as he stared back at her.

Up close her delicate fragrance teased his nose, lavender. He took a step back from her.

This woman is going to be trouble.

"Next time I ask you to do something please do not present it in such a disorderly manner"

"I'll do my best not to"

"Good" he said with a quick nod meant to dismiss her. She however didn't seem to get the hint.

"But disorderly and I do go together like spaghetti and meatball"

"As perfection and I go together like toothpaste and a toothbrush"

"Are you telling me I have bad breath?"

"Ms. Walters!"

"Too far?"

"There are other candidates that would have given anything to be in your position. Obviously they saw something in you to have recommended you for this post. I suggest you not do anything stupid to cut your time short here"

With that he handed the notes back to her and took a seat at his desk. He was all too aware of her still standing by his desk.

"You're dismissed"

As much as he didn't want to he glanced up and watched her walk out of his office. His eyes landed on her curvy behind right before the door shut behind her.

"Mary can you come to my office please?" He said into the phone as soon as she picked up.

He drummed his fingers against his desk in a aggravated manner as he wait for Mary to come see him.

"You rang?" Said Mary quickly walking into his office.

"She has to go!" He complained in a heated tone.

"And by she I'm assuming you mean the intern?"

"Yes! Who else?"

"Now Javier you can't expect us to just fire her on her first day for no reason at all"

"Oh I have my reasons"

"Like what? She's too ..."

"Unprofessional!"

"In what way?"

"There were chocolate smudges on her notes! She came to work with bed head and a coffee stain the size of Africa on her blouse!"

"She had a rough morning. Give the poor girl a break."

"You always were the one to have a soft spot for strays"

"Great now I'm a lost animal you've taken pity on"

He turned to glare at Jessica as she walked in unannounced. Then he turned warning eyes to Mary who hastily took the notes from Jessica and asked her to wait by her desk.

"What is it about this young woman that has you to tied up in knots. You're more tensed even for you" asked Mary with a curious expression.

"She's annoying" he simply responded

"So is Logan but you keep him around."

"That's different. He's my best friend"

"Still not sure why" she said shaking her head.

"Mary"

He hated the way his tone sounded almost whiney.

"She scares you!?"

"What? No of course not. You know me"

"Exactly, I do know you"

"Don't Mary please. I just met the woman."

"Fine but my husband and I knew we were soulmates before we even spoke. Let's see how the week goes and if she terrible at her job and does more harm than good, I'll call the university and arrange for a new intern to be sent over"

"Thank you. Is the other group here yet for the tour?" He replied choosing to ignore the first bit of her response.

"They were just pulling in when you rang. I'm sure they're lined up and waiting for you"

"OK"

He grabbed his jacket that he had thrown on the back of his chair and followed Mary out of the office. He glanced at Jessica as she stood with her notepad ready to work.

"Ready?" He asked her

"Right behind you boss"

"Mr. Sánchez will do just fine"

"Aye aye captain"

When she sent him a mock salute he turned to Mary and found her trying to hide her snickering as she walked away from them. He ignored the intern as he headed for the side door for staff only that lead to the gallery display rooms.

He greeted the students and their chaperones then went right into discussing each of the sculptures as they moved around the room.

"And over here we have we have a piece done by Guillermo E. Tolentino, now his specialty was classicism. This piece is called The Oblation , It depicts a man facing upward with arms outstretched, symbolizing selfless offering of oneself to his country."

Javier turned to Jessica because he felt her gaze on him for quite some time now. She didn't look away as he had expected her to. Instead she stared back at him with curious eyes. Her gaze made him feel naked like with just one look she was pealing always layers that he had taken years to build up.

He raised and eyebrow at her but she shrugged and went back to writing on her notepad. The group had also finished taking their notes and stood waiting for him to move on to the next piece.

Jessica Walters was a mystery to him, she seemed wild and carefree but he had caught a glimpse of vulnerability just now in her penetrating glance.

Why should I care what goes on in that mind of hers anyway. She's just the intern, here today, gone tomorrow just like everyone else in this life.
