Jessica stretched and opened her eyes. She smiled as she remembered the tender kisses she shared with Javier last night. Whenever things had gotten too heated he would pull back simply because he knew she wanted to wait before taking things to the next level. She walked into his bathroom and searched for a spare toothbrush so she could brush before going to find him.

She walked back down the hall and down the stairs where they had come from last night. When she got to the bottom she had no idea where to go.

“Mr. Sanchèz is in the sitting room just right through there” said the maid who walked by.

“Thank you.”

She followed the directions and found Javier typing away with a bowl of lucky charms next to his work.

My big baby.

She walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him.

“Hey baby”

Jessica was sure her heart just smiled.

“Good morning” she replied

“Go grab some breakfast, I just have to finish all this before we go into the office.”

“I need to go to my place to get some clothes first”

“No need. I put some clothes in my closet for you”

“Um...OK”

He turned to her and sent her a boyish grin and she couldn't resist ruffling his hair, neither could she resist the giggle when he pouted in response. She walked away but squealed when he picked her up and spun her around.

“What's gotten into you?” She asked grinning from ear to ear.

“I'm just happy you're here”

She kissed him and smiled at him before walking to the kitchen. She made herself a bowl of cereal making sure to take mostly the marshmallows. Then hurried upstairs to shower. When she came out of the shower, Javier walked out of his closet wrapped in a towel with another drying his hair. He had obviously taken a shower in another bathroom.

“I could get use to seeing you like that in the morning”

“Flirt” she accused before walking into his closet to get dressed.

She didn't even bother to question how he knew her size. All she knew was Javier is a man that can make things happen. They left for work in his car and Jessica couldn't stop smiling from ear to ear. This all felt so right, so normal and she felt herself starting to trust him. She looked down at her hand when she felt him lace his fingers with hers. She gave his hand a small squeeze then turned to look out the window as they eased out of traffic and made their way down the block to the gallery.

“Looks like Logan is here to pay one of us a visit” she said when she spotted him standing in the parking lot waiting.

Javier parked and walked over to Logan but she stayed in the car to collect all the files they had brought with them from his house. When she stepped out of the car she blushed and tucked her hair behind her ear as when both of them turned to smile at her.

“Hi Logan” she greeted

“Well don't you just look like a hundred watt bulb, you're glowing” Logan replied

She smiled at him and shook her head.

“What are you doing here Logan?” She asked him

“I need to ask you for a small favor”

“Me?” She replied

“Yes you.”

She glanced at Javier and found him looking at her.

“OK let's hear it” she said turning to Logan.

“My parents are going to New York for a family dinner at my grandparents place. They expect you to be there with me.”

“What? Why would they expect that?”

“Maybe because the last time they saw us we were pretending to be a couple and I might have led them to believe we were basically on our way to the alter”

“Logan!”

“I'm sorry, I really need you to do this for me.”

When Javier walked away from them without saying a word she knew he wasn't alright with all this.

“Look Logan…”

“Jessica I know there's something going on with you and my best friend. I'm not trying to come between that, I just need your help one more time”

She sighed and shook her head. “Fine. When do we leave?”

“Today?” He replied

“Logan!”

“Thank you! I'll swing by later with your dress”

With that he was gone and she braced herself for the conversation she had to go have with Javier. She greeted Mary as she walked in then went straight to Javier's office. He was sitting by his desk already working but looked up when she knocked.

“You're going” he simply said

“Yes”

“OK”

“OK? You're OK with this?”

“Of course I'm not alright with this Jessica!”

“Its just one night”

“I don't care”

“Don't you trust me?”

She held her breath as he looked at her without responding.

“Yes, I trust you”

“Then what's the problem?”

“I don't trust him”

“What?”

“Jessica there's a lot you don't know”

“Does this have anything to do with what Logan doesn't know because you nor his family will tell him?”

“He told you about that?”

“Yes”

“Go. And I'm trusting you not to let anything happen.

“I'll see you when I get back”

She walked over to him and kissed him then left.

Jessica spent the remainder of the day writing her final paper about her intern and was ready the minute Logan showed up. She had to admit the was really impressed with the cocktail dress he had bought her.

Now here she sat  nibbling on Logan's grandmother famous apple pie while she listened to them talk and laugh about family matters. Logan tried to include her in the conversation as much as possible but right now all she wanted was to be wrapped in Javier's arms as they spoke about life.

“Logan I'm beginning to think you guys are either fighting or not really a couple”

That got Jessica to look up from her plate and look over at Logan's grandfather.

“Grandpa don't start” said Logan

“I'm just saying. The both have you haven't even touched or said much to each other all night and you want us to believe you're in love?”

“I'm sorry everyone its not Logan's fault. I guess I'm just tired and a bit jet lagged.” Jessica stepped in to help out.

“Too tired to kiss? Smile at each other? Hold hands?” his grandfather pressed

“Grandpa!”

“Logan?” She called

“Yeah?”

“Kiss me”

She saw his eyes widen before realization sunk in. She tried to not let it show that she was freaking out the closer his face got to hers. As soon as his lips touched hers she closed her eyes. It was one of the most awkward moments of her life but she was determined to not let him down. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him all the while guilt was eating at her. Then without anyone else being able to hear she heard him whisper.

“I remember”
