They dropped Mikhail and Gideon on the ground in the alleyway just outside the club and then slammed the door shut on us. I look to Sasha feeling a little less drug up and a lot more angry, “What the hell was that in there? Just what did you do to us?” I growl at her. She is rubbing her arm like it was still sore where they had been holding her, “I basically drugged you so that you would be more docile during everything. Look It’s not a big deal I just wanted to make sure that none of you guys got to riled up because that would have been bad news.”

“Docile?” I say through clenched teeth and then point to Mikhail and Gideon, “You call that docile?” I feel my wolf surface and I lunge toward Sasha but Victor grabs me and holds me back, “Elena, She’s your friend.” I glare at her and she seems to be looking a me with surprise in her eyes but right now all I feel is angry, “Some friend! You could have told us the whole story instead of letting us go in their blind. I mean who are you really Sasha? Were you really locked up in some kind of prison?” I throw my questions at her and she flinches back with each one.

Victor is lightly stroking my arm with his thumb as if that is going to calm me down right now. Sasha looks down at the ground, “I understand that you’re mad at me—“ I let out a loud chuckle interrupting her, “Mad? You think I’m mad at you?” She keeps her eyes fixated on the ground.

“Oh I’m not mad at you. I’m furious. You could have put us all in danger Sasha and we wouldn’t have been able to protect ourselves. I don’t even know who you are, but you’re clearly not the person I thought you were because my ‘friend’ would have told me the truth about everything. I wouldn’t have had to hear it from some voodoo witch woman.” Sasha looks up at me with hurt in her eyes, “Oh like you’ve been so honest with me Elena? I mean it’s your fault we’re even in this position right now.” Her words felt like knives and they cut me deep. The only person I had let close to me and I felt like I didn’t even know the real her. It was all smoke and mirrors with her. I relaxed in Victors hold, “You can let go of me.” I say with a calm voice.

He hesitates for a moment and then let’s me go. I stare at her for a moment, and then look away from her to Victor, “Let’s get them into the car and then get out of here.” I don’t say anything more to Sasha after that. Victor and I have to carry the boys back the car and it takes us nearly a half hour to do so because well I mean I’m not a bodybuilder and Victor’s only one man. Once everyone is safely in the car I take the shotgun next to Victor and Sasha sits in-between the sleeping Gideon and Mikhail.

The ride is silent as the grave until I look over toward Victor and notice that he’s looking a little pale, “Are you feeling okay?” I ask him. He clenches the steering wheel and looks over to me briefly, “Yeah—Totally fine over here.” His voice sounds tense and I can see a little sheen on his skin. I narrow my eyes on him and then look away with a sigh, “Sasha I think something’s wrong with Victor.”

“I said I’m fine Elena!” He barks at me and I look to him a little surprised. I hear movement in the back seat and then suddenly Sasha has popped her head in-between our seats looking towards Victor, “She’s right you’re looking a little pale. Maybe we should pull over for a minute.” Victor clenches the steering wheel harder, “I said I’m fine now sit back.” He commands. Sasha hesitates for a moment before sitting back into her seat. It gets quiet in the car again and I can hear the sound of Victors heart beating hard and his breathing sounds a bit short. I bite my lip not sure what I should do but it was clear that something was happening.

“Shit. I know what’s wrong.” Sasha says quickly popping her head back in-between our seats. “Victor you need to pull over right now.” She orders him. I look over toward him, “Listen to her Victor even though I’m not inclined to listen to her myself right now I can see that something is clearly not right with you.”

“You two need to stop fussing over me and be quiet. It’s probably just my body trying to heal itself after the woman did what she did to me…” He explains trying to relax us.

“No” Sasha says, “You’re going to get worse before you get better. I’ve done this before remember?”

“What’s happening to him?” I ask her with concern still looking at Victor.

“Nothing is happening to me!” He snaps.

“You’re connected to each other which means your guys powers are feeding into each other the problem is that Eris has too much power for most people to handle at first. You don’t know how to shut it out yet so you probably feel like your on the edge of your control right now.” Sasha says quickly, “So I suggest you pull over this car right now before you go wolf and kill everyone in this car.”

Holy shit! If I shudder at the thought that I could have been the one to make that contract. I look to Victor even more concerned now, “Stop the car!” I yell at him. I can see that his eyes keep switching back and forth between normal and wolf. Victor shakes his head as if trying to regain control of himself. He finally listens to us and pulls the car to the side of the road quickly the breaks screeching as he stops the car quickly.

“Oh god…” He groans as he leans his head forward a bit closing his eyes. I look to Sasha, “You stay here and try to wake these two idiots up.” I snap at her as I unbuckle and reach for my door handle. She reaches out and stops me, “What do you think you’re going to do?” I look down at her hand and she quickly removes and then I look back up into her eyes, “I’m going to help him” I jump out of the car and quickly run over to the drivers door and pop it open. Victor’s body is trembling and he clenching the steering wheel so hard I’m sure he’s going to break it.

“How are you going to help him? You’re just going to get yourself killed.” She says to me. I don’t even look at her, “Well I’m going to at least try because I’m his friend and I’m not just going to leave him. Which is apparently a lot more then you can say…” I throw back at her and she quickly shuts up.

“Victor…” I say his name softly and he shakes his head bait before looking towards me his eyes glowing, “Elena, Stay away from me…” He grounds out, “I don’t want to hurt you.” He sounded like he was in pain and I felt nervous but I knew I needed to help him and I was the only one who could right now. I reach in and slowly cover his hand with mine and his body stills at my touch. He doesn’t look up at me and I don’t need him too, “I need you to get out of the car Victor. You don’t want to hurt your friends do you?” I ask him gently. He is somehow able to understand and lets his hands slide free from the steering wheel.

“Unbuckle him!” I snap at Sasha and she quickly does what I say while staring at me with wide eyes. I grab onto his arm and pull him free from the car and he lets me. I sigh with relief once we’re both standing outside the car. When Victor drops to his knees and grabs his head between his head I know he’s not going to be able to keep it back anymore. I swallow hard when he looks up at me his eyes glowing brightly and he’s no longer the gentle person I knew. He was an enforcer looking at his prey.

“Elena!” Sasha called to me from the car and Victors head snapped towards the sound of her voice and he let out a growl. My heart started to thunder in my chest I had to protect them from him and I had to keep him from becoming a murderer. He was just overwhelmed at the moment and didn’t understand who was an enemy and who was a friend. I knew what that feeling was like better than anyone. I knew somewhere inside Victor was fighting for control but with Eris' power feeding into his it was giving his wolf an unfair advantage. I felt my resolve and I knew what I had to do.

“Sasha listen to me—“ I say and Victor looks back to me his body vibrating getting ready to complete the shift, “You wake up Mikhail and you tell him he better save me or I’ll haunt him until the day he dies.” I take step back with my foot. “Ele—“ I shout over her, “Just do it!” And then I turn and run as fast as my legs will carry me. The sound of Victor’s howl echoing through the night.
