"Now run along freak" he growls moving out of the way for me to walk through.

I practically sprint down the hall searching for the stairwell that leads to the roof.

I stop once I begin seeing red tiled floor meaning I was near the custodian's office "Elena" I hear someone call after me but I continue to run.

I open the door to the roof and run up the staircase gasping for air as though I had just run a marathon.

In between huffing and puffing, I begin crying letting tears freely run down my cheeks.

"ELENA" I hear Tate pant as he bursts through the rooftop doors.

His foot steps approach me quickly. I turn my head towards the part of the roof that looked over the gym attempting to conceal my tears.

"Hey why'd you run off," he says with a slight chuckle in between his words "I uhh...I needed some air" I say still sniffing.

"Hey what wrong" his voice gets closer to me "Elena whats wrong why are you crying," he says rubbing my back sounding both concerned and angry.

Why was I crying? What did I expect? River was who he was and he only saw me as Freaky Lenny because I chose to be this way.

Still, that's no excuse for his behaviour and the way he treated me. With or without the hood he should treat me the same.

"Its nothing," I say now looking directly at the floor "Elena whats wrong," he says grabbing both of my hands in his.

"Nothings wrong," I say freeing one of my hands to wipe the tears from my eyes "Are you on your period? I could get you some chocolate or maybe some f-".

"No I'm not on my period," I say laughing "Then what is it" he says lifting his hand to my face.

I flinch as he touches my skin. I quickly grab onto my hood afraid hes going to take it off.

Instead he wipes the tears on my cheeks and lowers his hands. "I would never take your hoodie off unless you were ready" he says drawing circles on the back of my hands with his thumbs.

"Now tell me who I have to beat up before I go pile up every dumb jock in the school" I laugh once again feeling better "You can't beat up your own brother," I say chuckling "RIVER. RIVER DID THIS" he says raising his voice. Shit. I didnt meant to tell him it just slipped out.

"IM GOING TO KILL HIM," He says letting go of my hands "Tate no wait" I call out hoping he wasn't too far ahead from me "what did he say to you" he replies.

I was surprised he hadn't stormed off already "He uhh...he just"I itch my brain looking for something that wouldn't cause as much harm "Elena don't lie to me".

I roll my eyes at the fact he sounds exactly like my dad. I bite my lip before blurting out the truth. "He bumped into me and then said Watch where you're going then I sort of told said thanks for the apology and then he was like excuse me and he ended up confronting me and said if I went near you again he would rip my hoodie off and expose to everyone what I look like" I leave out the part where he swore at me and called me a freak hoping to lessen the blow.

"Im going to kill him" he says opening the stair door "Tateeee wait what if it wasn't an empty threat" I call running down the stairs behind him "I wont let him touch you" he says stopping causing me to hit into his hard chest "Tate" I call but get no response.

•RIVERS POV•

"What the fucks your problem" I reply looking at my brother like a mental patient "Leave her alone" he says walking closer to me.

I look back at Audrey to see a huge smirk on her face "Why the fuck do you care about her" I say confused "Because shes my friend. Shes the only fucking sane person i've met at this shitty school" he says more aggressively "Audrey? Seriously. You can do better" I reply motioning towards her.

She gasps where as Tate looks at me like I'm stupid "No not-" he says frustrated "I dont fucking care about Audrey I was talking about Elena" He says like im meant to know who the fuck that was.

I stand and think recalling if I knew any Elenas. Nope nothing. So who the fuck was she. "I dont know who the fuck Elena is but you better calm the fuck down" I say getting angry "You made her cry" he says walking towards me. Shit he was talking about his little weird friend.

I look around to see an arrangement of students surrounding us "Go near her again and ill beat the shit out of you" he says grabbing me by my shirt "Got it" he says yanking me "Get the fuck off me" I say pushing him away from me and walking off.

"That bitch" I curse as I walk down the hallway causing students to look at me "Got a problem" I say to the students staring at me.

The bell rings for home time snapping me out of my trance.

Students flood the hallway blocking my path making me angrier.

I walk through the students not caring who I bumped in to.

I jog to my car and speed off out of the school as im speeding out of the front gates I slam on the brakes almost hitting into someone "Fuck" I say as my head jerks.

I look up to see that fucking hood again. Im on the verge of running her over when curiosity strikes me.

Where was she going? She began walking through the huge open field towards a random little alley on the other side. I raise a brow before circling my car around the block until it reached the other side of the field.

After 10 or so minutes she finally walks out of the small alley and heads left towards a cluster of suburban houses.

I slowly drive my car behind her hoping not to draw too much attention to myself.

I park the car outside a light green house as she begins slowing down.

Eventually, she turns into the plainest ugliest orange and brown bricked house.

Well that was fucking boring. I slowly turn the engine back on and out the car in gear.

Looking around the street I begin turning out of the curb when I almost hit into a black car with dark tinted windows.

I beep annoyed at the driver before moving my car out.

I keep a fixed angry look on my face I look in the review to look at that stupid car when I see Freaky Lenny getting into it.

What the fuck? is all I think before driving off towards my house.
