Chapter Nine :

" Brianna " I heard somebody calling my name as I was about to walk into the school building . I looked back and squinted my eyes to see Dmack leaning against his car .

I turned around and slowly walked up to him wondering what he wanted and why he was here . " What's up ? " I questioned.

" Nothing, I just wanted to see what was good with you . You was dragged out of my car before you could give me an answer " He told me .

" You came all the way over here for that ? " I asked him raising an eyebrow.

" No ... I came here for my sister " He said . I saw him glance behind me and frown his face up . " Girl where the rest of your shirt ? and since when you get a belly ring i'm telling mama on your fast ass "

I looked back to see who he was talking to and noticed it was A'shyra. I knew her because we were team mates . We were both one the dance team but that was it , we weren't friends or anything .

" Nothing is even wrong with my shirt , it's a crop top and mama is the one who took me to get my belly button pierced " She said rolling her eyes .

I could understand her aggravation . I went through the same thing with Coby and my cousins and there was literally nothing wrong with her shirt , nothing even looked revealing on her but it wasn't my place to tell him anything about his sister so i kept my mouth shut.

" She did huh ? Well i'm about to go pay her a visit " He said .

" Did you bring me the money or not ? " She asked .

" How much you need again and next time tell me ahead of time , got me getting up early to come to this school " He fussed .

" Just give me two hundred " She said. He reached into his pockets and pulled out a band of money . He peeled through it before giving her two one hundred dollar bills . " Thank you Dre-Ski I love you " She said as she kissed his cheek before running off into the school .

" I didn't know you and Shyra was siblings " I said .

" Thats irrelevant , you gonna fuck with a nigga or what ? You got it seeming like i'm begging you to fuck with me " He chuckled .

" I don't know ... I don't have time for no drama over you " I said.

" what drama ? " He asked raising an eyebrow.

" because i know you fuck with these bitches and i don't got time for bitches to be coming at me over you . I done had my fair share of fights in my life but it's never been over no nigga and i don't plan on starting to " I said.

" and you won't . I don't know what exactly you heard about me but i'm not as bad as people make me out to be " he said .

" okay but we have to be discrete about it . my people really don't want me fucking with you and if they find out it won't be good for me or you " I said .

" Good , I like being discrete " He smirked . " I'll hit your line " he said and I nodded .

I turned around to walk back to the building and jumped when I seen Jari standing behind me . " Bitch , why you lurking ? " I asked .

" I wasn't , anyways you better be careful I hate for Coby to drag you again " she laughed .

" Whatever and why are you dressed up ? You aren't even a junior " I told her . Today was the Juniors last day of school , it wasn't technically a school day though because we were having our junior picnic on the lakefront .

" They're not going to be keeping tabs on people to know that much and besides what can they do suspend me on the last week of school for sneaking on the junior picnic ? I don't plan on coming after today anyways we already took our finals and end of course exams " She said .

" Whatever , you look cute though trying to be like me with the all white " I said . She was wearing an all white two piece set that was a cropped jacket and some sweat shorts .

I was wearing an all white two piece set as well except mine was a thin long sleeve crop too and some mesh biker shorts .

We didn't have dress code since we weren't going to be in the school building today . " Bitch please you're trying to be like me " She scoffed .

We walked into the school and took our usual seat in the cafeteria at our table with Shania , Tyreke , Blaire , Hasaan , and the Twins .

Before I could sit down I felt someone tap on my shoulder . I look back to see it was our cousin Natavia . I was cool with her but we really didn't fuck with her like that because of her parents. " Hey cousin what's up ? " I asked her .

" Can I have twenty dollars so i'm able to buy something to eat and stuff today ? " She asked . The school rented out food trucks and things like that to set up shop on the lakefront so we were able to purchase food and drinks.

" Come with me to the bathroom " I said . She led the way and I followed her .

Once we were in the bathroom I reached into my wallet and handed her two twenty dollar bills . " Why didn't your mama give you money? " I asked her and she shot me a knowing look .

My auntie Natasha is her mom and the family kind of isolated themselves from her because she was dumb bitch and that's the only way to put it . She got married to some rich business man and started acting funny with us and let him control her .

She stopped coming around us so often and we learned why when my grandma popped up at her house one day and saw her all bruised up . She tried to get her to leave him but she refused . He even went as far as to putting his hands on my grandma and she let him so that's when we cut our ties with her .

Natavia still tried to come around but it was too much drama whenever she did so we isolated ourselves from her too . We only talked to her in the passings at school but that was about it.

" Are you okay ? Do you need anything else ? " I asked her as I looked at her . She was wearing a pink two piece skirt set that I had given her .  Her hair was done in a neat high ponytail but I wasn't surprised about that because she knew how to do her own hair so she never lacked on that .

I was always giving Natavia clothes and shoes out of my closet and old bundles and things like that . I just felt like it wasn't fair that she had to suffer because her mom was a dumb broad.

" No i'm good cousin thank you but I don't want Drick getting upset with you anymore " She said and I nodded .

The last time I had given her some things her Drick caught a fit . Not because I was giving her things but because her stepdad caught a fit about it and came to my house fussing with me acting like he was about to put his hands on me so Drick gave him a beat down and made me promise not to do that anymore !

" Ok ... nothing's changed you know I still love you . I hate that the circumstances stopped us from being as close as we use to be " I said .

" I hate that too and you know i'll always love you " She said .

We left out the bathroom and went out separate ways . When I made it back to the table they were all giving me disapproving looks . " Don't do that y'all , she's still our cousin " I said.

" So is that hoe , that hoe , that nigga , that nigga , that nigga , and that bitch " Shane said as he pointed around the cafeteria at some of our other cousins . Kennedi, Imani, Glenn , James , Devin , and Hailee .

" Yeah but we don't know them like that so it's easier to just walk past them in the halls . We actually had a relationship with Natavia " I said .

We had a big family and almost like half of the city was our cousins but we didn't really know them like they. We know who they were because of family reunions and we would speak to each other there but out in public and at school we didn't say two words.

It wasn't any beef it's just we didn't grow up close with eachother like Shane , Shania , Shawn , Blaire , Jari , Drick , Westin , Natavia and I did.

My great grandparents had thirteen kids and all of their kids had kids and then their kids had kids so we had a lot of great aunts and uncles and cousins and everything and honestly that was too many people to be trying to be keeping up so we only were cool with our grandparents kids and their kids.

" Yeah I understand that and I hate that she had to lay in the bed that her mom made for herself but ain't nobody got time to be dealing with her abusive ass step daddy . That nigga come at you again on some dumb shit and Drick might be going to jail , do you want that ? " Shane said and I remained quiet .

" You're a nice person Bri so I know you hate to see her out here struggling and looking like who did it and what while her mama and step daddy is dressed in designer but nobody has time for their drama. Grandma let her stay with her for a while and she called the police claiming grandma kidnapped her so you can't say we tried " Shawn said.

" Ok you're right " I said . I probably wouldn't give her clothes and shoes anymore but i'd still give her money whenever she needed it . Bringing a bag full of clothes and shoes in the house was hard for her stepdad to miss but money was small so he wouldn't notice that.

" Well good evening to you all too " Drick said . We'd just got home from school and we all decided to go to Dricks house.

I used my key to let us in and we all walked past him and coby in the living room to go upstairs to shower because we were all hot and sweaty.

" Good evening " We said .

" Hold up Bri and Jari come here " Drick said. We both glanced at each other and walked to the living room where him and coby was already knowing he was about to say something about what we had on .

" The fuck y'all got on ? The school let y'all wear that ? " Coby questioned .

" Yeah ... nothing not even wrong with what we have on " Jari said .

" are you dumb ? " Drick asked her and I chuckled .

" ion know what the fuck your a akiki-ing for . You just as worse with them see through ass shorts " Coby said.

" Okay but it's irrelevant to fuss about it now . We had this on all day and everybody done saw us already so the damage is already done . I'm hot and sweaty and tired and i would like to shower and take a nap " I said .

" Get out my face for I bat you in the mouth " Drick said knowing he wasn't going to hit me .

I went into the bedroom at his house that I claimed as mine and found Khi and Kani laying on the bed watching Disney Plus on my fire stick .

" Hey BriBri " They both said never taking their eyes off of the TV.

" Hey babies " I said . I grabbed my bluetooth speaker off the dresser and went into the bathroom. I unlocked my phone to play music and seen that I had a instagram notification saying that Dmack had started following me and a dm from him .

I sent him back an " i'll see "and went to his page . I followed him back and clicked on his most recent picture and smiled to myself before double tapping it .

Exiting off of Instagram I connected my phone to the speaker before stripping out of my clothes and going in the shower .

I was in there for a good hour because I was having a concert in there performing for my imaginary audience . Getting out I dried myself off before wrapping the towel around my waist before walking into my room .

Instead of seeing Kani and Khi on my bed Coby was now laying there engrossed in his phone . " Sounds like you was having fun in there " he teased me .

I chuckled as I went to my dresser and pulled out some clothes . I got dressed in some biker shorts and a sports bra before climbing into the bed on top of him.

" I love you " I said as I kissed him a couple of times before climbing off of him before somebody came in here and saw us .

" Why was you talking to Dmack this morning outside of school ? " He asked .

I shouldn't have even been surprised that he knew. Along with Corey , a few other boys from our school worked at the trap with them and they were straight up snitches .

Anything we did that looked suspect they went and ran their mouth to Drick , West , and Coby .

" He went there to give his sister some money but when he saw me he had asked me something because before I could answer him your crazy ass yanked me out of his car " I said .

" What he had to ask you ? "

" If I wanted to fuck with him " I said .

" And I hope you told his ass no " He said cutting his eyes at me .

" Duh " I lied . " Come'on lets go out to eat "

" Your fat ass didn't eat at y'all lil picnic ? "

" Only thing fat is this ass " I said playfully causing him to bust out laughing .

" Nah your pussy fat ... I could get your ass fat though just let me know when you're ready " He said and I playfully rolled my eyes .

" but no I didn't eat ... I wasn't really feeling what they had there I wanna go to Big Mommas " I told him .

Big Mommas was my favorite restaurant. The owner Big Momma was originally from New Orleans so she cooked southern meals .

I visited New Orleans a couple of times with Shania and The Twins to visit their daddy and one of the things I fell in love with was their food .

Most people tried to imitate their meals but it wasn't the same but since that's where Big Momma was from her food tasted just like it did down south .

" You going there in that ? " He asked . I looked down at my gray biker shorts with my sports bra and nodded . I grabbed a red hoodie and pulled it over my head and put on some socks and my Red and Blue Fearless Jordan Ones .

" You going in that ? " I asked him as I eyed his print in the gray sweat shorts he had on looking like a slut .

" Yeah " He said . I went in the bathroom and grabbed my phone before leaving out the room behind him .

" Where y'all going ? " Blaire asked as he noticed out trying to creep out the door . I smacked my teeth because I knew he was going to want to tag along which was going to make Hassan want to come whichever as going to make Jari want to come and this was going to turn into a family event .

" To the store " I lied .

" Ok I need to get something " he said causing me to smack my teeth .

" What you want i'll bring it back for you " I said .

" Oh you don't want me to come ? " he asked growing offended .

" Not really " I admitted .

" Too bad i'm coming anyways " He said as he hopped up and just like I said Hassan and Jari stood up after him .

" Where we going ? " Drick asked . " Khighia and Sakani get y'all shoes " he called out without us even answering them .

" Where we going ? Shane and Shawn get y'all shoes we going somewhere " Shania asked as she looked down at us from upstairs .

I threw my head back and groaned in frustration , all of their asses were too gas happy and it showed . They didn't even know where we going for all they knew we could've been going to drive off a bridge .

Before you knew it we were all in Cobys car headed to Big Mommas . I was glad he decided to drive his truck today because we weren't all smushed up .

Coby was driving and I was riding in the passenger seat . Shani , The Twins and Tyreke day in the middle row Drick , Sakani , Khighia, and Jari sat in the third row while Blaire and Hassan sat in the trunk part .

" Your lying ass said y'all was just going to the store , you just ain't want me to get no good food " Blaire said to Brianna .

We all got out of the car and I jumped on Blaire's back as we walked inside of the diner . " Hey y'all " Raven one of the waitresses greeted us as we came in.

We ate here a lot so the staff was familiar with us .

" Hey rae " We greeted her back .

" Y'all can go ahead and take a seat and i'll be over there in a minute " She said .

We nodded and went our usual table . I smacked my teeth when Blaire sat next to me because his ass always did that so he could eat off of my plate .

" Hey y'all , y'all wanna start off with drinks ? " Raven asked as she came to our table . I noticed Drick looking at her breast that was popping out of her shirt and shook my head .

niggas .

We were all alike because we ordered the same thing an Arnold Palmer which was sweet tea mixed with lemonade.

" If y'all know what y'all want to eat i'll take y'all orders now too . Mama made gumbo as a special today " She said . I forgot to mention that Raven was Big Mommas daughter .

" Yeah that's what I want " I said and Drick agreed with me .

Blaire and Hassan Ordered Jambalaya , Coby ordered Crawfish Ettfoufe, Shania and the twins all ordered Crawfish Pasta , Tyreke ordered Red Beans and Rice with Cornbread and since the girls were picky we ordered them Macaroni with fried chicken.

I felt someone looking at me and saw Dmack sitting across the room with A'Shrya and some other girl . I didn't know who she was but she was pretty as fuck .

I gave him a small smile and looked away before Drick or Coby noticed . " What y'all got planned for the summer ? " Drick asked looking at us .

" Well we're going to be in New Orleans for the first half of summer with our daddy " Shane said .
