They left about half an hour ago. Now I'm staring at Oliver and Henry again.

They just shared looks and shrugged, not really knowing what to do in this situation.

I want to hug Zack so bad.

I sighed for the millionth time and picked up my laptop.

I stared at the red blinking dot.

The mics were connected and thankfully there was nothing suspicious so far.

Thought too soon.

I started hearing footsteps and hushed voices.
"Am I hearing things?" I asked, quietly.

"No." Oliver said, as him and Henry stood up and walked over to me, listening closely. They loaded their guns, while paying full attention to the voices.

"Can you tell where they are?" Henry asked. I nodded.

"The hallway outside the kitchen." I said. They nodded and moved towards the door.

"That's not the plan." I could make out the words when they came closer to the mic.

"What's the plan then?" Another voice asked. This one sounded younger.

"The boss wants to kill two birds with one stone..."

"Stop." I said, quietly, stopping Oliver and Henry.

"We have to take the princess to opposite side of town, while her brothers are busy being killed at the other place. He's wicked smart. Wants to have this Mafia in his hands."

Are they dumb? They're chatting so casually.

"That's why we have enough time to take the princess where the boss is waiting. It's a trap. You're a newbie. You'll learn." The same man continued.

"But what about the hostage?" The other voice asked.

"Killed right before the princess's eyes." The Man said, chuckling.

I gasped and looked at Oliver and Henry.

I need to do something.

"You guys go handle them. I'll call Elonzo." I muttered hurriedly. They nodded before making their way out of the room.

I called Elonzo, knowing he won't pick up. It's hard to contact them once they get so set on an attack or something.

Truck it.

I grabbed my bike keys from my desk drawer and checked the cameras, looking for a way to escape.

Even if Oliver and Henry catch these truckers, there will surely be more men somewhere.

After I was done planning the route, I hacked the gates so they stay open.

It'll be too late if the guards start arguing with me.

Great.

I sneaked out of my room, sweat trickling down my forehead. I don't know what is happening with the two kidnappers. So it's scary.

I was successful in getting out of the mansion and ran to the garage.

I almost banged my head on a wall when I saw the gates closed.

Elonzo asked for a 'manual' gate which could be closed and opened without any technology. I forgot this particular piece of information. Oh well.

He's grounded.

I took a deep breath and started the bike, glaring at the gates with a sudden determination.

It seems like a good idea. It better be or I'm gonna get yeeted to Mars.

I sped up, aiming for the gates.

The guards looked at me, half surprised.

I should've guessed they'd expect it. If the gates got hacked, I'd be the first person they'd suspect.

I stopped the bike a good distance away from the gates.
"I don't have time. Open the gates." I yelled.

"The Capo's orders. We can't let you leave." One of them said.

"Why don't you go inside and see what Oliver is upto? My orders. Take two more men with you. Now open the gates." I ordered, in my 'Elonzo' tone.

They didn't.

Three of them did move inside but didn't open the gates.

"Have it your way then." I said, starting the bike again and speeding towards the gate.

They panicked before lunging for the gates and opening them just as I was about to collide with it.

I sighed in relief. That was scary.

I sped towards the place Elonzo and my brothers were going to.

They must be on their way. The sun had just set some minutes ago. They planned on leaving the headquarters when the sun set.

It felt so good. This wasn't the normal speeding that I'd done so often after moving in with my dad and brothers. This was racing. Like I was in an actually Bike race. What I got in trouble for so many times was nothing compared to this and I loved it.

About five minutes later, I could spot the black cars. I reduced the speed just a little, to stop without a drift. Elonzo will have a heart attack, if I suddenly drifted before his car.

That'd be fun.

But they spotted me too I guess, because the speeding cars came to a halt. I had to stop sooner. So I turned the bike sideways while stopping, doing a big drift.

Stopping just beside the first car.

Just my luck, my eldest trucking brother got out at the speed of light and slammed the door. He slammed it so loud that I jumped.

"You better have an explanation for what you're doing here before I kill you with my bare hands, Evelina Romano." He said, almost yelling after he slammed the door and speed walked towards me.

I panicked and jumped off the bike, staggering away from him.

God was he angry.

He broke his own record.

"Hear me out first." I said, my hands flying to my ears.

He clenched his jaw and released a sigh. An angry one.

The glare on his face just intensified, making me look away.

"Start talking." He gritted, taking a step towards me threateningly when I took too long to talk.

"That's the wrong location you're going to. That's a trap. That's where they will try to kill all of you while the two men Bianchi sent will kidnap me from home and take me to the opposite side, where Zack is." I rushed out.

His glare dropped.
"Someone did sneak in?" He asked, before his glare returned, not directed at me this time.

See? Glare. Emotionless. Glare. Emotionless. On-off switch.

"Are you sure?" Dad asked, appearing out of nowhere.

Well. I was too busy getting scared to notice all of them there. Dad, Grandpa, Marco, Leo and the other three eldest oldies. The younger ones are handling other safer stuff.

"Yes. I heard them over the mics I put around the mansion. Oliver and Henry got them." I said, suddenly remembering and calling Oliver.

"Where are you? I just reached your room. The boss will kill us."

"He won't. I'm with them. Your boss wasn't picking up." I said, glaring at Elonzo.

"I need the location." Elonzo said, snatching the phone from me and saying that in a cold tone.

"Stop scaring him." I mumbled, looking down when he raised an eyebrow at me.

"So we take her with us?" Leo asked, looking at Dad.

"We can't send her home. It's best if she stays with one of us. We're running late. They might know about the plan and kill him if we wait longer." Dad said, looking at me worriedly.

"We can split up. Emilio, Drake and I should go to the location we were going to, previously. It'll be more dangerous there, so we should increase people there." Vincenzo said, looking between Dad and Grandpa.

"Call your Dad and Uncles to accompany you there." Grandpa said, nodding his head. When Elonzo was done getting the location, he returned my phone before moving towards Vincenzo and the other oldies.

"Be safe." He muttered, hugging them, then ruffling their hair, like the loving older brother he is. The ruffling the hair part caused them to glare at him.

"I want all of you alive and well. Okay?" Grandpa asked, ruffling their hair himself, before turning to me.

"Let's go, princess." He said, smiling warmly. "That oldie scared you too much maybe."

"Nah. He's not that scary." I mocked. Elonzo turned to glare at me, but remembered we have an important task in hand.

I kept fiddling with my ring on my way there. Zack is going to be okay.

I nodded to myself. It's going to be okay.

Grandpa put his hand on both of mine.
"Don't worry. He will be okay." He said.

I nodded.
Salvatore better not have touched him. If I find one scratch on Zack, I'm going to kill that pig.

We reached the warehouse type building. I gulped. I was so nervous and scared.

I don't know how this is going to turn out.

"You are to stay with Leo all the time. Don't try anything foolish if you know what's good for you." Elonzo said, warning me not to use the dumb side of my brain.

I nodded.
"Fine. Stop being scary." I said, rolling my eyes, before getting out.

Elonzo kissed my head.
"Please don't do anything stupid" He repeated his threat as a request.

I nodded and hugged him. We had stopped some distance away from the warehouse.

I pulled away and followed Leo, while Elonzo, Dad and Grandpa moved to a different path.

"Just stay behind me, baby." Leo said. I nodded and moved closer to him, while the five men and two women behind us, did their work, looking around and sneaking into the building.

We managed to enter the building silently, with snapping necks or shooting with gun silencers on. The two women were so cool.

As we walked up the stairs, we heard gunshots.

Zack wasn't in any of the rooms, we looked into. So he must be upstairs.

I jumped when I heard the gunshots, but quickly recovered from it.

The gunshots didn't stop for about five minutes, which we took to look into the rooms.

Come on, pighead. Just show yourself already.

Tears gathered in my eyes at just the picture of him forming in my mind. It hurts so much.

I shook my head and just followed Leo quietly as he focussed on finding Zack.

He wasn't on this floor either.

The sounds of gunshots became louder as we reached the stairs.

I turned my head to the side, from where the sound was coming from.

Grandpa, Dad and Elonzo were standing with their backs to each other, probably cornered by the enemies. I saw some of our men at a side, standing there, while one of them supported an injured Zack.

A tear escaped my eye at his condition. Busted lip, blood flowing down the side of his face and an injured leg. His eyes were open at least. He wasn't on the verge of passing out.

I wiped the tear away and just then, my eyes locked with his. He smiled, despite the slight moisture in his eyes.

I nodded, sniffling a bit.

I got distracted by three men running out from nowhere, their guns aimed at my three dads, who were now slightly scattered away from each other.

They were sneaking up on them.

My eyes widened. I saw Leo instructing the group. Did he not notice the three new enemies?

Without a second thought, I ran. I put my hand in the pocket of my hoodie and yelled as I appraoched the three sneaky guys.

They turned towards me wide eyed, their guns pointing forwards, now at me.

"Evvie!" Leo yelled from behind me. Zack lunged towards me, wide eyed and panicked.

The three men panicked when they turned and heard me yelling while trying to get something out of my pocket.

They shot at the same time.

I saw Zack jerking a bit, as he was in the way when the first of the three gunshots was heard. His clothes now splattered with his blood.

The other two gunshots made me jerk as I gasped.

I saw the three men fall to the floor a second after, as my three Dads and Mom panicked.

It all felt like it was happening in slow motion.

A tear slipped from my eye as Zack took a step forward, his torso covered in blood.

I tried to walk. I tried to take steps forward but fell to the floor when my legs gave out at the first step. I felt the cold floor on the side of my face.

My eyes started closing and there was a constant beeping in my ears that deafened me, impairing me from hearing anything other than Zack's voice echoing in my mind.

I tried to keep my eyes open and moved my head from the floor but couldn't.

The last thing I saw was Zack falling to the ground, unconscious and still, before I gave in myself.
