"This is stupid." Luciano said, getting up and walking out. Elonzo didn't stop him this time, knowing he needed time to cool down and think about it.

"This took an interesting turn, by the way." Grandpa said. I chuckled.

"Right? Maybe we're in a movie. Where are the cameras?" I said, looking around.

"Oh! My makeup needs to be done again then." Grandpa said, looking for the makeup artist frantically.

"You don't need it, Grandpa. You look handsome either way." I said, hugging his arm and smiling sweetly at him.

"Oh thank you, my beautiful princess." Grandpa said, kissing my head. "Grandpa is happy to hear compliments."

"Are you done?" Tyler said, looking at us, weirdly.

"You interrupt me and my granddaughter again and see what I do." Grandpa warned, glaring at him. He just shrunk back and hid himself, while I laughed.

"Where's Marco?" I asked.

"At the office. Arranging the meeting. Apparently the oldest brother is a businessman." Elonzo told me. "We arranged it beforehand, he's just checking everything again."

"Okay." I nodded.

I looked at the door again.
"I think I'm going to see Luciano now."

"You sure, honey? If he so much as glares at you, tell me." Will said, looking concerned.

"Okay." I said, before walking out.

I checked the back doors first, where you can see the forest behind the mansion.

He was there, as expected. Closing the sliding doors, I took a seat in the armchair beside him.

"What?" He asked, taking a drag of the cigarette, which I just noticed.

"Are you crazy? Elonzo will kill you." I said, reaching out to get it out of his hands.

He put his hand on my forehead and pushed me back.
"Don't worry. He won't." He said, rolling his eyes. "I've done it way too many times here to even worry."

"Then I'm going to tell him." I said, reaching out to grab it again. This time I got it, threw it on the floor, before rubbing my shoe over it.

Ew. Disgusting thing and disgusting guy, aka trash. I mean, Luciano.

"I'm going to kill you." He glared at me and gritted.

I smacked his head.
"Shut up." I said, simply.

"Just go back." He said, shoving me.

"No." I said, punching his shoulder.

"Stop annoying me." He gritted, rubbing where I punched.

"I can't resign from my job." I shrugged while he let out a groan of frustration.

He went silent and stared into distance. I sat silently too, waiting for him to say something. I could see he was too focussed on whatever was going through his mind.

I did not expect him to be calm, like he is now.

"I'm sorry I said all that back then." He said, suddenly.

Kudos. He learnt how to apologize.

"I don't know what I was thinking." He continued. "I didn't want to believe we were related and I kinda hated her for leaving us. Its hard when you see other kids being happy with both parents, especially their Mom."

I just sat there, in utter shock, staring at him, while he looked anywhere but at me.

"I read something." He said.

The diaries!?

"What?" I almost yelled. He nodded.

"I know It sounds like invasion. But I couldn't help it. When Dad was gone, I found the diaries on his desk in his office. I was just casually looking at the name on them and accidentally tore the cover." He said, fiddling with the spiky ring on his finger. Exactly the thing that tore the cover.

"Papers fell out." He said. "Those were letters for all of us, even Nathan. She never left them. I read mine."

"What was written?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

"Just her being guilty. Letters were written some days before we found you or rather you found us. She mentioned the date. She wanted to find a way to let it out, because she didn't expect she'll meet any of us." He said. "I don't know what you two went through. I didn't want to see her again. Although I didn't know her that much. I still hated her."

"There wasn't anything special in the letter, but she cared enough to write one. To apologise for 'what she put her kids through'. Then you ranted about how you were not as happy as I thought." He shrugged. "Its weird. I don't know what is happening. It was like one second I hated her then the next second it all became different. I don't know how to explain it."

He went silent after that, fiddling with the ring and tapping his foot nervously.

"Are you sure you don't want anything to do with our cousins from her side?" I asked. He looked at mew with uncertainty clear on his face.

"I don't know, Evvie. They never contacted her. They never asked how she was doing or if she needed help." He said, repeating what he said, earlier.

"Again, that's exactly what Dad did. He didn't know about me. He still didn't try to contact her." I said. "The only difference is Dad didn't force her to do something. He never abused her. They had arguments, but he never degraded her. He respected her decision and let her be."

"Her family, on the other side, tried to sell her off by marrying her to a family friends' son. He was toxic, treated women like trash." I said, showing him that I hate her family too, just her brother's and father. "They didn't ask if she was okay with it. When she refused, she was asked to choose between them and Dad. When she told them she was going to marry Dad, they just threw her out of their lives."

"Our cousins didn't even exist at that time. They didn't throw Mom out of their lives. They were not the ones who cut ties. It's her brothers' and father's fault." I said. He rubbed his hands on his face.

"I don't know." He muttered.

"I made it clear to Peter that I won't be polite with Mom's brothers or father. I don't know about her mother. From what I know, she wasn't allowed to express her opinion either. So, I asked him to keep them away."

"Fine." He said, running his hand through his hair.

"What?" I asked, smiling brightly.

"Fine. I can try, I guess." He said, leaning back on his armchair.

"Good. Let's go have lunch now." I said, getting up. As soon as we stepped inside and he closed the door, I said.

"I'm going to tell Elonzo about the cigarettes."

"You won't." He narrowed his eyes.

"I love challenges." I said, mimicking his actions.

The next second I was upside down, my face near his knees.

Truck his strong self.

"Let me down, you trucker." I said, punching his legs.

Ow. I forgot I was hitting his bones.

"You tell Elonzo and I'm going to torture you to death." He said.

"I'm still telling. You shouldn't smoke." I said, stubbornly.

Taking a deep breath, I shrieked. Like Aaaaaaahhhh.

"Who had the audacity to hurt my princess?" Grandpa's voice shook the whole house, I'm not even lying.

Luciano panicked and put me on the floor abruptly, before Grandpa reaches us. I could hear his footsteps.

"You are grounded." Grandpa said, pointing at Luciano and narrowing his eyes. He didn't even ask who hurt me. Just grounded whoever was near me.

"I want your credit cards, phone and keys right now." Grandpa ordered, while pulling me to him, so I was standing beside him in a side hug. Luciano gave him everything silently, looking more afraid than I've ever seen him.

"Where does it hurt?" Grandpa asked, looking down at me, while I smiled atย  him.

"I'm good, Grandpa. Don't worry." I said, smiling at him.

"Alright. Lets go." He said, picking me up and walking back to the living room.

--------

"What?" I said, annoyed.

"Haha. Little baby is nervous?" Axel mocked. I groaned.

We were currently driving to his house, where us cousins were going to meet. Axel insisted on driving me there. So here I am, sitting in the passenger seat, while he did not waste even one second by not calling me a little baby.

"You call me little baby one more time and I'm going to punch you to next century." I warned, glaring at him.

"Okay, little baby." He said. I clenched my jaw and just huffed.

"I'm going to tell Peter." I said, glaring at him. "He's going to scold you then."

"Go on." He said, before chuckling. "Its not like he is not going to call you a little baby."

"If I tell him not to, he will not." I stated confidently.

Axel just rolled his eyes.

"As if." He said, smirking a little.

Should I punch this idiot, who actually taught me how to punch?

"Wait till I get the eldest on my side." I grumbled.

"Oh! You can get them on your side?" He mocked.

I pointed to my face.
"Look at this face. Do you really think someone would say no to this adorable face?" I scoffed.

He rolled his eyes.
"Yeah right. Adorable little monkey." He grumbled, before changing his tone back to mocking. "Or should I say, adorable little baby?"

He laughed when I almost punched him but stopped because he was driving.

"We're here." He said, after some time when we pulled into a driveway.

"Okay? Are they already here?" I asked.

"Yeah." Axel said, exiting the car. I just sat there, trying to calm my nerves.

"Don't be nervous. All of your brothers will be there and I will be there." Axel said, opening my door, waiting for me to get out. He picked me up when I didn't move.

"Where's my confident aggressive little monkey?" He booped my nose.

"Ran away and is not coming back soon." I muttered, hiding my face in his shoulder.

He chuckled and rubbed my back.
"Calm down." He said, simply.

"What happened?" I heard Ryder and Tyler say together.

"She's getting too nervous." Axel said.

"Aww.. Don't be nervous, Evvie." They said.

Yeah right. The solution to nervousness? Don't be nervous.
Thanks monkeys. I really appreciate it.

I jumped down quickly, when I realised I was letting them baby me again.

"Let's go." I said. Elonzo kissed my forehead.

"Be polite." He reminded again. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm always polite." I said, before following Axel, who laughed at my statement.

Trucker is really asking for it now.
