Fireworks.

That's what I felt. That's what I saw.

He finally pulled away as we panted for air. I was chuckling a bit, not quite believing it.

"I still can't believe it, nerdy." He said as he looked down at me, our foreheads touching. He chuckled a little. I smiled brightly at him.

His eyes filled with tears.
"Don't ever leave me." He said and hugged me tight, while I rubbed his back. He's getting too emotional.

I was so overwhelmed with everything.

I was thinking about how I'll ask dad about it. Will dad even permit me to date?

I don't think he will be okay with it, but who cares when you're the favourite Grandchild and the only Granddaughter of the coolest, the most handsome and the most powerful Romano?

Grandpa just made it easier.

"What happened? Why are you so silent? Looks like I finally found a way to shut you up." He said, smirking. I glared at him and faked a gag.

"It wasn't even good." I smirked. I was surprised when he smirked back.

"Uh huh. Sure it wasn't." He said sarcastically, while moving towards me. I backed away, playing along. He pinned me against the wall and stared into my eyes.

"Why are you blushing then, tomboy?" He leaned in to whisper in my ear.

"I'm not. I'm just too hot." I said, smirking while saying the last part.

"You sure you're the one that's hot?" He teased, again. I rolled my eyes.

"Don't get too ahead of yourself, pighead." I said, lightly punching him.

"I'm just asking." He shrugged. "Changing the topic, how was your first kiss?" He asked, smirking while looking at my flustered self.

God!! What is happening to me?
Gather up your sarcasm, Evvie.

"It wasn't my first kiss." I stated, with a bored expression, resisting the urge to smirk at how his expressions changed.

"What?" Zack said, a shocked expression on his face, which soon turned into anger and jealousy. "Who?"

"Uhh.." I stammered. "Does Scooby count?" I asked sheepishly and stifled a laugh at his expression.

He looked at me weirdly and blinked then blinked again.

Your eyelashes will fall down, pighead.

Then finally he burst out laughing, after all the drama. His heavy laughter rang through the air.

"What are you laughing at, you idiot pighead?" I growled as he just looked at me with amusement in his eyes.

"At you? Isn't that obvious?" He smirked.

"Oh, I thought you just laughed looking at a clown in the mirror. Who knew you laugh looking at this beauty?" I retorted, while glaring at him.

"I have your picture on my mirror." He said. I gritted my teeth.

When did he learn to roast?Uuuugghhhhh.

"What? Speechless?" He smirked. I swung my fist at him.

How dare he shut me up twice in one day.
I really think something is happening to me.

"Woah, easy there lady. I'm your future husband." He said while catching my fist in his hand and pinning my hands behind my back.

"I didn't say yes." I said, smirking when he gritted his teeth and glared at me.

"You kissed me." He stated.

"That doesn't mean I'll marry you." My smirk grew wider at his annoyed expression.

"Ugh. Stupid ugly tomboy, playing hard to get." He muttered under his breath, releasing his grip on me.

He turned around so his back was facing me. I saw him cross his arms and tap his foot on the ground.

"I'm offended." He grumbled then added, "And hurt."

I could only imagine the pout on his face.

"And?" I asked, not knowing what to do.

He stayed silent. Guess he's mad.

I stepped towards him. My heart was racing already.

Okay, deep breaths, deep breaths.

"Princess?" I said. I put my hand on his shoulder and tried to turn him around. He jerked his shoulder forward again.

He's gonna die today.

I took a deep breath and went to stand before him. He looked down at me, then went back to glare at the skies again.

I grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him down.
"Stop being annoying, princess." I said, looking into his eyes, before leaning in.

Fireworks again.

"Wow." He said, as we pulled away. "I love the new way."

"Whatever." I said, not looking him in the eyes.

"Hey, Nerdy. Don't be shy." He said, nudging me with his elbow.

"Me? Shy? You're not drunk, are you?" I scoffed. He chuckled and stood beside me, looking at the sky.

"So... Date tomorrow?" I asked, rubbing the back of my neck.

"You ruined the vibe." He gritted. "Ugly tomboy." He said, flicking my forehead. Before I could retort, he bowed and put his hand forward before me.

"Would you like to go on a date with me, beautiful lady?" He asked, way to sweetly.

Is it okay for a tough and brave girl, like me to faint for this pighead princess?

I laughed and put my hand on his.

"Of course not, ugly man." I said, laughing as his expressions changed from happy to annoyed to 'I'm gonna bang your head in a wall' look.

I laughed and hooked my arm in his.
"Let's go downstairs." I said. Zack shook his head.

"I'm not ready to face the men of your family."

"Hey, pighead. Don't be shy." I mimicked him, nudging him with my elbow.

He glared at me. I just laughed and started walking downstairs.

"I'm so not looking forward to it." He muttered from behind me.

"I'm here to protect you, princess. Your Knight in shining armour." I said, to which he just shook his head.

We entered the living room, only to find all of my family and Zack's family there.

"Uhh... Hey guys." I said. Zack entered just behind me.

"Right. Come here." Elonzo pulled me away from Zack and towards him.

"Aww... El. What happened?" I pouted, teasing him. He just glared at me and raised an eyebrow.

"Don't even try to start your drama." He gritted, before looking away, towards the stage, as I'd like to call it, which was originally just the place where Zack stood, while my brothers tried to kill him with their glares.

"So, you're good with it?" Grandpa asked.

"Yeah." I said, smiling warmly.

"But she's not meeting him again, until marriage." Elonzo said, tightening his hold on my shoulder. All of my brothers nodded in agreement.

I jumped away from Elonzo and stood beside Zack, supportively. I hugged his arm. Brothers started glaring at me.

Where was I getting the courage to do this?
Duh.
Grandpa was there.

"We need to know each other well, to have a happy married life." I said, like the wise person I am.

"Come here." Leo gritted, grabbing my arm and pulling me away again.

"No." Will said simply and glared at me.

Uggggghhhhh.

"My princess is right." Grandpa said, smiling a little.

"I'm going to lock your princess in a tower." Elonzo gritted, under his breath.

"They're right. She's not meeting him until marriage and until she's of the right age." Luciano said, looking at Zack with a disgusted look.

I scoffed.
"And the right age is probably forty five?"

"Fifty eight, actually." Leo said. He didn't look like he was joking.

I just gaped at them.
"What the-" I started but was cut off.

"Shut up. Not a word from you." Elonzo said, in a warning tone.

"I have the right to speak." I said.

He glared at me dangerously. I gulped and shifted closer to Grandpa.

"Do something." I tugged at his sleeve, looking up at the most powerful person, I've ever met, also known as my grandpa.

"Okay. You don't have a say in this." Grandpa pointed towards my brothers.

Ha!

I'm so powerful.
Add a graceful hair flip.

"I'm approving it. She can be in a relationship with him. I just have one condition. I don't want to be a great grandpa this soon. That by my youngest grandchild." Grandpa said, looking down at me, with amusement swirling in his eyes.

"Grandpa." I whined. He just laughed and winked at me.

"That we can do." Zack said, smirking at me. I looked at him, disgusted. Gross.

"This thing can speak?" Leo said, looking at Zack with disgust.

"I'm shocked too." Will agreed with his other half.

I rolled my eyes.
"You're being rude to your brother-in-law." I said.

"Eww.." Ryder and Tyler said together, as soon as the word 'brother-in-law' left my mouth and faked a gag.

"That is rude too." I said, glaring at them.

Zack just seemed amused by the situation. This guy is insane. Everyone fears my brothers.

Why was he trucking acting while coming downstairs then?

"Okay. Quit the fight. My princess is right. You all need to accept it." Grandpa said.

"Where are the cousins?" I asked.

I wonder why they didn't stay for the drama and add their opinions.

"It would be hard to handle so many boys." Grandpa said. I chuckled.

"Right." I said, laughing. "Wait! Now where's Nathan?" I asked.

"I'm here." I heard his voice.

He was sitting at the couch with a bucket of popcorn in his hands.

"Grandpa never listened to me. What's different now? I simply stopped trying." He shrugged, answering the question going on in my mind. I laughed out loud.

I knew Nathan will be on my side, willingly or not. Who goes against their twin?

"Okay. Now the bride and groom are ready, its official. They're gonna get married when they are ready." Grandpa announced, finally using his authoritative tone.

"Do you understand?" He asked, glaring at the brothers as they all muttered a 'yes grandpa'.

I smirked.

----------

"Ugh." I said. I can't forget what happened. I called Max. I need to get it all out.

"Yeah." He said sleepily, as soon as he picked up.

"Where are you?" I asked.

"I'm going back home."

"Well then, take a U-turn and come back." I said. He groaned but said he was coming.

"What?" He asked entering my room, after some time. He went straight to my bed and laid down under the covers. I sat down cross-legged beside him.

"Shoot." He muttered, his eyes closed. He yawned, while getting comfortable, just ready to sleep.

"So Zack and I fight a lot, as you know. I thought he was just my friend. Then I got Jealous when he got that witch of a girlfriend. They were acting though." I started rambling.

"Then I realized I actually like him. As more than a friend. Then today, Grandpa told me he fixed my marriage with him, before our birth."

I stopped talking when I heard a soft snore.

I smiled lovingly at Max, who was sleeping peacefully.

Cute.

No.

This b-word is gonna die.

I kicked him hard, making him fall off the bed.

"Oww... What?" He said, furiously.

"I didn't call you here so you could get your beauty sleep." I gritted, glaring at him. He climbed over the bed again and laid down.

"Fine. Start with your rambling again." He said waving his hand around, dramatically.

"This is not my usual rambling." I said, in an exasperated tone.

"Yeah. Yeah. Go on." He said, still not being serious.

I took a deep breath and said, more like yelled in his ear.
"I kissed Zack."

I heard another thud as Max fell down the bed again, this time in shock.

"WHAT?" He yelled, scrambling on the floor, so his arms crossed over the bed, with his chin resting on them, looking up at me expectantly.

"Ssh." I said. "Keep it down."
He was fully awake now.

"Woah! Are you serious?" He asked, moving forward, grabbing my jaw and squishing my face in his hand, making me look at him.

I slapped his hand away.
"Yes."

"Wow!" He said, still having a disbelieving look on his face. "Wait till the girls know this."

"Ugh." I groaned, pushing my head into a pillow.

Max jerked me up to sit again and look at him.

"Wait! Who started it?" He asked, looking too serious.

"Uhh.. He leaned in first." I said, blushing and rubbing the back of my neck.

"Truck." He said. "You've disappointed me, Evvie. I expected better from you."

"What?" I asked, confused.

"I will have to feed those lady gangsters for a month now." He groaned then looked at my confused expressions.

"We made a bet. I said, you'll kiss him first, while the girls believed Zack will." He said. I made an O shape with my mouth and nodded.

"Now, who said I love you first? Or I like you?" He asked, still serious.

"Uhh... We didn't? I said, I hate you. He said I hate you too." I chuckled at his expressions. He looked at me weirdly.

"Weird kids." He shook his head. I punched his shoulder.

"Now that is out, who asked out to the date first?"

"Wait! I completely forgot about the date." I said, panicking and trying to get off the bed.

"Answer my question." He said, holding me where I was.

"I did." I said as he punched the air with his fist.

"I won. Its a tie. Thank goodness." He said. I glared at him. He looked at me then gulped.

"Fine. I'm done asking questions." He said raising his hands in surrender.

"Good. Because you are going to get up and help me pick something to wear tomorrow." I ordered, still glaring at him.

Max slumped down and laid on the bed.
"Ugh. I'm sleepy." He groaned. "Besides, it doesn't matter. You are gonna wear some hoodie and sweatpants."

"I'm still stressing out."

He pulled me down to lay beside him.
"Don't worry. You'll be fine." He said, already drifting off, with his arm on me.

I huffed and closed my eyes.

Can't wait for tomorrow.
