There were many times when I wanted to see Tasha after seeing pictures of her baby bump. But I couldn't. Just couldn't.

I stay at work doing stuff to keep my mind busy. Keeping her out of my mind, but somehow, she slips back in. Even listening to music wasn't helping at all.

I save the pictures on my iPhone. Before I go to sleep at night, I look at Tasha's picture on the beach and stare at her beautiful baby bump.

I was hoping I'll be having children now, but that changes my plans.

When I arrived home from my last shift. I noticed Summer was wearing some kind of scarf around her neck. I mean, who wears a scarf on a hot day wearing a tank top and shorts. Inside a house and I see her wearing it when we or she goes out with friends.

Like she's hiding something from me. When I ask why she was wearing the scarf inside when it was hot. She said she felt like wearing one today. When she answered, she looked nervous to reply to my question.

Well, I was going to find out tonight if she's hiding a hickey from me. While she's in deep sleep.

I watched some NHL hockey before I went to bed and Summer went to bed early. I wanted to wait until midnight to see what's she's hiding on her neck.

After two hockey games, I went to bed and find out. I shut off everything in the living room and went to the kitchen to grab a drink of water. I walk up quietly up the stairs to make it to the bedroom with no noise. I turn on my flashlight from my phone and I found Summer sleeping on her back but with her head laying on the right side.

I walk to her side and flash the light to her neck and found nothing, but I need to look at her right side now. But how to do that without waking her up. Thinking of any ideas to come up with.

Maybe a feather? Or move her head?

I looked around for a feather in the bedroom, but none was in sight. So, one thing left is to move her head without waking her up. I put my iPhone face down on the night table and the flashlight facing up.

One

Two

Three

I cupped her face with my hands and slowly facing towards me. I prayed she won't wake up and stay asleep. When I was done doing it, and quickly grab my iPhone and pointed the flashlight at her neck area.

I saw a small hickey on her neck. So that's why she was wearing a scarf to hide the hickey on her neck.

"I'll be damned," I whisper to myself without waking her up.

Summer was cheating on me and I cheated on her. So, we are both equal now.

I took a couple of pictures of her neck with her disgusting hickey that was on her neck.

Now I have my evidence and I'm going to play along with her not knowing that she doesn't have a hickey.

****

The next morning, I woke up with no Summer by my side and the smell of bacon filled the bedroom. I looked at the alarm clock and it was nine forty-three in the morning. I moved the covers and got up from the bed. Walk straight to the bathroom and take a quick shower.

After getting dressed, and brush my teeth. I headed downstairs to the kitchen. Summer was listening to loud music on the radio. She was dancing with her back facing me. I lean against the wall, watching her.

She had no scarf on around her neck and I'm guessing she put on makeup to cover it up.

When she turned to face me and stop.

"Where you there the whole time Corey?" She smiled at me.

"For the most part." I smiled back and looked at her neck and I see the hickey on her skin and it wasn't covered up.

I stared at her neck for a while.

"Corey, it's not what you think. It's not a hickey, it's just a buried."

"It's kind of hard to believe Summer. Yesterday you were wearing a scarf on a hot day and now you 're not."

"The girls and I and some of their husbands went paint balling yesterday before you go home. My friend's husband shot me in the neck accidentally and I wasn't wearing a neck guard when you're supposed to. But you know me, I'm stubborn." That's true. Summer is always to things when it doesn't go her way.

"Show me some evidence that you went yesterday."

"Okay, just let me get my iPhone and believe me went you see it." She walks out of the kitchen.

And I see that breakfast is all done. She made pancakes, bacon, and homemade hash browns. Yummy, I can't wait to eat this.

"Here is the video." She puts her iPhone in front of my face and I pressed play.

After watching the whole thing on video. I felt sorry for Summer for getting hurt.

"I'm sorry for accusing you of cheating on me Summer... I thought-." She cuts me off. She wraps her arms around me and kisses my head.

"I would never do such a thing like that, Corey. I love you and I've been thinking a lot about starting a family with you after the wedding. And I know I was being a complete bitch about it. And I want to."

Wow. Now she wants to start a family.

What happens if Tasha's carrying my unborn baby? Hopefully, she tells me soon so I could make my decision about what I'm going to do.

"I love you too, Sum." That's what I could say to her was just those five words. I could reply to her answer about starting a family. But will see.

"At first I thought that was a hickey."

"I know, but it's just a buried that looks like one and I was wearing an ice pack in my scarf for you, FYI. So that's why I was acting weird around you. Sorry I didn't tell you earlier about it."

Later on in the day, we had dinner at Summers' parents' house. Hopefully, this time, there's no one arguing. I can't stand adults arguing with their parents. It drives me nuts. I mean, if I argue with my parents, my mom would backhand me to the head.

Before we came to her parents' house, she bought a dessert for after dinner. It was strawberry cheesecake.

I hate all kinds of cheesecake. I try a piece and never liked it.

I parked my truck in the driveway. Got out and help Summer with the cheesecake. I opened the front door for her. We both took off our shoes and walk towards the kitchen. The house smells so good.

"Hey, mom and dad." Summer greeted them with strawberry cheesecake in her hands. She placed the dessert on the counter.

"Hi Summer, hi Corey. Thanks for the cheesecake."

"Oh, you 're welcome mom, and where's dad?"

"He's in the John. Dinner will be done in five minutes." She had mashed potatoes, vegetables, dinner rolls, gravy, on the table, and I'm guessing she had roasted in the oven.

Summer was helping her mom out while I sit at the table. Her dad came walking into the kitchen.

"Hey, Corey and Summer," Thomas said with a smile. He came and sat right beside me.

"Hey, Thomas, how you are doing and with work?"

"Well son, I'm doing fine and work well. It's work. How's work going for you?"

"Work is going good and they have asked me to go training in Colorado next March, so I accepted it," I said to him and he nodded.

"The roast is done," Susan said out loudly. She bought over a long white oval plate with a shredded roast on it. Placed the plate in the middle of the table.

Summer came and sat beside me, and Susan sat beside her husband as well. Thomas said grace before we ate our dinner.

"So, any more wedding plans yet?" Susan asks us, but I glance look at Summer right away.

"Not yet, but I'm planning on getting a professional wedding planner after the Christmas holidays and New Year'. My friend gave me her business card and I'm going to call her tomorrow." Summer reply to her mom's answer.

"A wedding planner is a good idea to help your wedding dream come true," Susan said.

"We are planning on doing the wedding invitation next month, so in January and I want to get them to send asap." Summer said.

This wedding stuff is giving me a headache and I listen to them talk about the whole wedding stuff during dinner. I think I need a cold beer when I get home and sit on the deck in the back.

Once we left Summer parent's house, first stop head to a store, and get me a big red bag of Doritos chips. My favorite chips and I've been craving something crunchy to eat.

I drove to the closest store in our area, where we live. Park my truck in the parking lot and got out. When I enter, they were two ladies staring at me? One of them had a lot of makeups. When I mean a lot is her face looked smeared on like crazy. The other one was all-natural.

I love a woman who looks natural without makeup on and shows their true beauty.

I went in the back of the store to check out what chips they sell here. I stop in front of a shelf and look up and down.

Finally, I found a big red bag. I grab it and carried it to the counter.

"How's it going hot stuff." The lady with the smeared makeup on was licking her lips at me.

"It's going good." I wanted to get out of here quickly.

"I could help you have a good time tonight?" This chick must be desperate for something.

"No, I'm going. My wife is more than enough for me." I was thinking about Tasha when the words came out of my mouth like that.

"She doesn't need to know." She was fluttering her eyelashes at me.

"How much is the chips ma'am?" This whore needs to get her life straight.

"That's $3.50, sir. I'll give you the chips for free if you get me what I want." I was opening my wallet when she said that.

Oh hell no.

I put down a five-dollar bill, grab the chips, and walked out without saying anything to them.

I quickly opened my truck door and slide in and drove off. Summer asked me what took so long and I told her that the cash register wasn't working.

Home sweet home.

Pulling my truck into the driveway. Summer opens the front door.

"Babe, I'm going to take a shower and then read before I go to bed."

"Okay. I'm going to have a beer and sit in the back."

"Okay, I'll see you in bed later." She kisses me on the lips. She smiled and walked up the stairs.

I walk into the kitchen to the fridge to grab a beer on the door slide and twisting the cap off. I shut off the kitchen lights and open the door to the deck. Sat in the dark and looking at the beautiful night sky.

I turn on my iPhone and went to my contacts. I was staring at the work on the person's name.

My Tasha Ford

My thumb was hovering over the call button. Thinking of calling her and hearing her voice again. I miss her voice.

"Fuck it." I took three huge gulps of beer.

Press the call button.

It rang three times before...

"Hello."

"Hello,"

I hung up on her, and it scared me to reply. Hearing her voice made me happy inside, but I fucked up when I hung up on her.

Maybe I could send her some flowers to work for me but a delivery person this time.

I finished my beer and went inside to bed.

Tasha

Whoever was that on the other side of the phone was an asshole for hanging up on me. I hate calls like that. Don't call if you're going to give anyone an answer.

I paused the movie that I was watching in the living room and where I was laying before the phone rang twice.

It was past midnight when my movie ended. I stuff everything off in the living room and the kitchen before I came upstairs. The first step is to pee before bed, then I can go to sleep. My baby bump is showing now.

Now I got to sleep on my left only. I miss sleeping on my stomach, but it's going to be all worth it in the end.

Walking in the building with a raise cinnamon bagel and a steep tea in the other hand. I see Bonnie at the front desk.

"Good morning Bon." Resting my hot tea on the counter and also my bagel in a bag.

"Good morning Tasha. How's the baby doing?" I move away from the counter and turn to the side and rub my baby bump.

"The baby is doing well and I can't wait for the baby to grow." Bonnie came around the corner and rubbed my baby bump as well.

"Tasha, you 're finally showing a little and you 're glowing beautifully. Wait until he or she kicks, it's the most wonderful feeling ever."

"Doing anything for lunch, Bonnie?"

"No, I was planning on asking you that soon but since you 're here. Where would you like to go?"

"How about some takeout at subway?" I suggested the idea.

"Yeah, we could do that and come back to the office or go eat by the harbor?"

"Let's go eat by the harbour and I'll see you here at noon, Bonnie." I grab my tea and bagel with me and headed to the elevators.

"See you later Tasha." Bonnie waved at me and I waved back also.

Pressed the up button on the wall. The doors opened right away and I walk in. Press the number three on the side and the doors closed. I hate being in elevators alone and what if something happens to me? I always have that feeling, though. I quickly rushed out of there and walk to the front desk.

"Good morning. Anything for me yet?"

"Oh yes, here's a memo from the supervisor, no messages or calls and the mail hasn't come by yet."

"Okay, thanks. Mr. Lee and Stacey have an appointment in an hour. Just let them straight without paging me."

"Will do Tasha."

I made my way to my office, turning on the lights, and put my things on my desk. Turning on my computer. Hanging my purse on the coat hanger. Pressing on the button on the stereo and listening to the radio.

Eating my bagel and drinking my tea in peace. Read the memo from my supervisor about a meeting this Friday at noon with lunch and drink included. I should tell my co-workers that's I'm expecting. But will see.

An hour later. I was getting Stacey's file ready for when she comes in. I heard a knock at the door.

"Come in."

"Good Miss. Ford. How are you doing?"

"I'm doing very good." I patted my stomach to give them both a hint.

"Are you pregnant?" Stacey said in excitement. I nodded my head at her.

"Oh, my god. I'm so happy for Tasha, better make me an auntie. Congratulations." Stacey came around my desk and hug me. Touch my baby bump with her hands.

"Congratulations Tasha." Mr. Lee came over and gave me a quick hug.

"Thank you guys and I told no one at work yet."

"So, Stacey, how is the family doing so far?" Now that we are all settled and seated in front of me.

"The family's been amazing, and I felt like I'm loved and cared for. I love my little siblings and we have fun together. And you still have to take me shopping?"

Oh crap, I totally forgot about that.

"I forgot about it, Stacey, with work and the bun in the oven. A busy December for crazy Christmas shoppers. But for next month for shore, probably on a weekend if that's alright with your parents first." The three of us chuckled.

"It should be cool with them, but I'll ask, anyway. I was talking to Mr. Lee about closing my file with you." Wow, she must make a really excellent decision.

"Okay, will do, but it takes a month to close your file. You are taking steps to the right path."

During the entire time, we talk and laugh. I enjoy their company. Soon they left before lunch. Stacey and I picked a date already, January 10, 2015.

Just as I was about to leave my office to meet Bonnie downstairs. My office door opens to a bouquet of roses with baby breaths in a blue valse.

"Look what someone delivers to you, Tasha." Bonnie put the roses down on my desk. I quickly smelted them. I love the smell of fresh flowers.

"Wow, I wonder who could be. Is there a note or something?"

"Just wait and find out missy."

Then I see a small white envelope hiding in the right of the roses. I grab it slowly and turn it around so I could open the envelope. I pulled out the card, and it said:

I miss hearing your voice.

C.J

I stand there, still looking at the words he wrote, and it caught my breath. My eyes were a little teary. My emotions are hitting on me.

I put the card down on the desk and grab Kleenex and wipe the tears from my eyes. I look at Bonnie, who stands there without saying a word.

"Was the roses and the note from him?" Bonnie asked. I nodded my head at her. She gives me the hug that I need.

"Come on, let's feed the baby some lunch." She walks behind me, closing my office door. Walked out of the building and began walking to Subway, which is the other way.

We walk out with our takeout and headed to the harbour to eat our lunch. I got myself a twelve-inch cold cut with white cheese, bacon, lettuce, salt, and pepper. A bag of lays chips and apple juice. Bonnie got the same thing as me but with a lot of vegetables on it and, of course, the same chips and drinks.

We sat down on the picnic table near the docking. I watched all the boat docking and driving away.

"Have you told him yet Tasha?" I nodded my head, meaning a no.

"Okay, I'll leave it like at that. So, when are you going out with your girls?"

"This Saturday after I babysit my friend's little kids. We are going out and dance they made a deal with me that they can't drink alcohol when I'm going out with them because they don't want me to babysit them and watch them have all the fun. While I'm the one who's not drinking at all."

"That's nice of them, Tasha, to do that for you. Meaning you got friends with trust and respect in them."

"Yeah, they all do. I love them to pieces. But let's eat before our lunch hour is over." We ate and talk about different things that are happening in our life.

Once I got home from work and needed to lie down and watch a movie or a tv show. I quickly change into my PJs, brought down a pillow and a blanket, and laid on the couch.

Not even half an hour later. My eyelids were getting heavy and I left them to drop.
