Valentine's Day is when couples spend a romantic day with dinner, movies, and gifts. I'm celebrating my first Valentine's Day with someone. I wasn't sure what to expect. With the Grays, you never know what to expect.

We didn't expect Nixon to get arrested. Yeah, I'm still trying to wrap my head around that scenario which involves Nixon, Nolan, and a hooker. I should rewind so we can get a clear-cut picture of what happened.

*****

Nash had planned a particular date for us. He made reservations a few weeks ago at a romantic restaurant that included dancing. While we were getting ready for our date, Nixon decided to help Nolan with a slight issue. Well, Nixon didn't help him but got dragged into the matter.

Nixon

My phone rang. "Hello?"

Nix? Are you at home?

"Nolan? Yeah, I'm getting ready to leave. Why?"

I need your help, and don't tell Ma and Dad.

"This phone call can't be good. Where are you?"

Nolan gave me the address, and I hung up. As I was leaving, Nash stopped me.

"Where are you going

"Nolan asked me to pick him up at an address."

"Nix, our reservations are for seven."

"I know. Do me a favor and pick up Kat. I'll meet you guys there."

"Okay, fine, but make it quick."

I left to pick up Nolan, then returned to my double date with Nash, Maggie, and Kat.

Nash knocked on my door as I was getting ready.

"Baby girl, you look stunning."

"Well, thank you, sir. I'm almost ready."

"We have to pick up Kat along the way."

"Why?"

"Got me. Nixon said he had to get Nolan. He said that he would meet us at the restaurant." He pulled me to him and kissed me.

I wiped the lipstick from his lips, and we left to get Kat.

Nixon

I pulled up to an address, got out of the car, walked to the door, and knocked. A lingerie-clad woman answered it.

"Well, hello, sugar. What can I do for you?" She smirked.

I glanced at the address, assuming I had made a mistake. No, the address was correct.

"I'm looking for a young, tall, dumb, and horny kid."

"That kid? He's with Laci. I can do whatever you want."

"Uh, no thanks. I'm here for the kid."

"Follow me, sugar." The woman led me to a room.

Women lounged around dressed in lingerie. What the hell did Nolan do?

"Laci! Someone is here for the kid!" The woman said at the door.

"Hang on! We're almost finished!"

I opened the door and got a view of Nolan with the girl.

"Nixon!"

"Nolan, get dressed!"

"Nixon? Like the disgraced president?" The woman asked me.

I glared at her. "Do you have a problem with my name?"

"Nope."

Nolan got dressed and made his way to the door.

Then someone said, "Hell! It's the police!"

"Shit. It's a raid!" The woman pushed past us.

Our eyes widened as we ran, only to get caught by the police.

"Hold it right there! Hands up!" The police officers pointed guns at Nolan and me.

We raised our hands. The police took our hands, moving them behind our backs and

"Don't worry about Ma and Dad killing you. I'll kill you myself when we get out of here," I told Nolan.

The police led us to the police car.

We sat in the restaurant waiting on Nixon.

Nash got impatient while Kat and I sat there, hungry. "I'm sorry about my idiot brother."

"Yeah, I'm sorry too." She gave him an awkward smile.

I felt terrible for Kat. The evening should have been lovely.

Nash's phone rang with an unknown number. He answered it after the third ring. "Hello?"

Nash?

"Yes."

Man, you must help us!

"Nix?"

Nash's response got our attention. We leaned forward as Nash talked on the phone. "Where are you?" He listened as Nixon explained. Then he asked, "Jail? Why the hell are you in jail?"

Kat and I glimpsed at each other and mouthed, "Jail?"

"Uh, huh. Uh, huh. Yeah, we'll be there. Oh, and Nix, tell Nolan that I'll kill him." He hung up. "Sorry, ladies, but we must leave."

We left the restaurant and endured a silent car ride. Kat and I glanced at each other, then shrugged. Nash fumed. When your brother calls you from jail, you have two questions. One is why, and two is why. It's the same question, but you can't help but ask twice.

We pulled up to the police station and entered through the front entrance. Nash walked to the front desk and spoke with an officer.

"How much trouble are Nixon and Nolan in?" Kat asked me.

"A lot."

We waited while the officer took Nash to the holding cells.

Nash

Nixon and Nolan were standing in a jail cell.

"Oh, thank God, Nash," Nolan said.

"Nolan, what the hell were you thinking?"

Nolan gave me a sheepish expression.

I cut him off before he answered. "Never mind. You weren't thinking with the right head." He glanced at Nixon.

"I thought Nolan was getting into trouble at a buddy's house. I showed up at a hooker's house. He called because he was short on cash," Nix said.

We glared at Nolan.

"Man, the police think that I'm a pimp. I tried to explain that I was on my way to dinner with my girlfriend."

"Well, I have both girls here and explained everything to the officer."

"What did you tell the cops?"

"The truth about you meeting us and having to pick up our little brother. Our little brother is a complete idiot."

"Sounds about right." Nix smirked.

"Nolan and Nixon Gray! You're free to go." An officer unlocked the cell.

My brothers stepped out of the holding cell.

"You're lucky. Next time, you won't be. Stay away from those places," the officer told Nolan.

"Y-yes, sir."

We walked to the front.

"Now what?" Nix asked me.

"Well, we drop the little weasel off at home and still have our date. The date will be a little unusual."

After we dropped off Nolan, Nash drove us to a diner. No, Bryson didn't work there. We didn't want to ruin the rest of our night with the slightest chance of seeing him.

"How will you explain tonight to your parents?" I asked while eating my burger.

Nash and Nixon glanced at each other.

Nash said, "We aren't. He is."

"Ma and Dad won't let him see the light of day," Nixon said.

"What was Nolan thinking?" Kat asked.

"Well, he thought he didn't want to be a virgin."

"And how did that go?" I asked Nixon.

"Not well. When I found Nolan, he had almost finished. We'll need another cake." Nixon smirked.

We laughed. Ah, blue balls, the gift that keeps on giving.

After we ate, we went dancing. It was so much fun. Nash and Nixon tore up the dance floor with their moves.

Nash pulled me into his arms and danced with me. "I'm sorry about my brother ruining our night."

"I wouldn't say that he ruined our night but altered it. Plus, I didn't need a fancy restaurant when I can't pronounce the dish's name." I giggled.

"I wanted to impress you." Nash sighed.

"Nash, you don't have to take me to fancy restaurants or buy expensive items to impress me. Trust me. I grew up having money. Someone who loves and cares about you is better. Snuggling on the couch while watching a movie is more important to me."

"I didn't need to do this special date." He arched an eyebrow at me.

"Well, I like the dancing part, but I'm good if we keep it low-key." I smiled.

He looked into my eyes. "That's why I fell in love with you, Mags. You enjoy the simple moments."

"Good. It hurts to love someone on Valentine's Day, and they don't love you back. I spent four years pining for someone."

"Well, not anymore, baby girl. If I have my way, you'll never spend another Valentine's Day alone ever again."

"I love the sound of that idea."

"And I love you." He leaned in and kissed me.

We had a few minor bumps, but tonight turned out perfect. I wouldn't have it any other way.
