But she knew tonight Elena and her parents were gonna crash. No one will know she came back cause once she saves them she will leave and enjoy the rest of her summer.

When Lilian got to Virginia she signed into a bed and breakfast but under a fake name and drove to Mystic Falls. She got near the Mystic Falls welcome sign and her rental just stopped working. It had ran out of gas and she was pissed. She grumbled and got out and started walking. She heard a noise and got paranoid so she walked faster. She turned around to see if she saw anything but when she turned back around she bumped into a hard chest. It was Damon Salvatore. Great.

She doesn't remember much just that they talked and he flirted with her. Then when he tried to compel her she had to erase his memory and make sure he didn't remember seeing her that day. She told him to disappear and when she heard Elena she ran away. He didn't talk to Elena cause he was long gone. She made Damon think he saw Stefan coming so he had to leave.

Basically she went back to Pennsylvania for the summer and a couple days later she got a letter saying Elena's parents died. Damon distracted her so she didn't save them. She reunited with Beau again and he was basically her summer love. She also took a road trip with him to Jersey and while he was at work she found pictures and footage of Katherine and put them in a box and dropped them off at Damon's hotel room.

She didn't meet Damon just gave him that. Basically she changed minor things that she probably shouldn't have. But other then that she enjoyed her summer.

Lilian was outside the Grille minding her business listening to Elena,Bonnie,and Caroline talk about Stefan and the Comet. She was sipping on her tea and nearly choked when Caroline got up. "Care where are you going?" Caroline said something about going to see Stefan so she hurried up and got up.

"Are you going with her?" Bonnie asked organizing the flyers. Elena looked at her expectantly.

"Yeah I really don't wanna be here so if I can escape it by going with her then,so be it" she said bluntly. She wasn't gonna spare their feelings and be fake. Lilian grabbed her bag and cellphone and jogged after Caroline.

"Caroline!" Caroline stopped and turned around. "I'll drive you. C'mon my car is this way"

"Fine,you can drive me" Caroline stopped. "Wait why do you wanna take me anyway?" Lilian looked at her slightly baffled.

"Seriously,you guys talk about town gossip and boring shit in general all damn day. I wanted to leave but no,mom insisted I come with you and spend time with friends. Seriously Caroline you should know if I could get out of something like that I'll take it" She replied. Caroline was shocked for a second but then laughed.

"You seriously secretly hate us don't you" She said as they started walking to Lilian's car. Lilian giggles and pauses dramatically.

"Well gotta take drastic measures sometimes,even with the little things like escaping boy talk" Caroline laughed and they left to go to the Boarding house.

On the ride Lilian and Caroline chatted about Elena's jealousy and Lilian knew that Damon was home alone and Stefan went out hunting. Her eye twitched in disgust thinking about Stefan drinking from a Bunnies ass or whatever.

They arrived at the Boarding house and it looked nice but also creepy. It was dead silent and they both got out the car. Caroline gaped at the house and Lilian casually walked to the front door. She knocked on the door and it opened. Caroline looked scared behind her and they walked in. Lilian started walking in more and gasped when a bird came flying towards them. Caroline screamed and the door quietly shut. "Stefan!" Caroline yelled walking into the living room.

"You still wanna call his name after all that creepy stuff happened. We should be leaving not staying" Lilian said paranoid. She was so paranoid she didn't even feel Damon's presence in the house. Caroline scoffed at her and looked around calling for Stefan again.

"Relax,he has to be here if he didn't answer my text. Let's go look around maybe he's upstairs" Caroline said putting down a artifact. Lilian nodded and turned around and tended getting scared by Damon. He just sat there looking down at her. Caroline noticed her sister relaxed but looked angry at Damon and knew they met each other before.

"Good fucking grief Damon you almost made me pee my pants" She said smacking him. Damon just smirked at her and Caroline cleared her throat.

"Um,who is this?" She said seeing Damon was still looking at her sister.

"This is Stefan's brother Damon,Damon this is my sister Caroline" Lilian said introducing them to each other. Caroline smiles and waved and Damon nodded his head in acknowledgment.

"Nice meeting you,my brother said good things about you" this made Caroline blush and Damon then put his hand around Lilian's shoulders. "C'mon you could've told me you were coming over I would've cleaned up" The sisters looked around and then called bullshit. There was nothing to clean. They both gave each other a look and sat down on the couch. Damon day right next to Lilian and didn't move his arm from around her. The eldest Forbes noticed.

"Yeah sorry but I don't have your number Damon" Lilian said absentmindedly looking at the fireplace watching the flames. Caroline decided to take over since her sister always seemed to get distracted by elements.

"Is Stefan here? I wanted to talk to him" Caroline said getting straight to business. Damon straightened his posture and looked at the blonde.

"Stefan isn't here right now he's off doing something right now,he should be back soon though" He said. He immediately turned back to Lilian. "So Lilian,your the one coming to see me this time,should I be worried?" He said messing with her hair drawing her attention back to him. She blinked and stop staring at the flames.

"In your dreams,I came cause my sister wanted to see her crush"Lilian said finally looking at him and she noticed how lighter his eyes were up close.

Damon saw the Fire reflect on her pretty green eyes and he felt captivated by them. While they stared at each other Caroline shifted noticing a change in the air. Her sister had a lot of explaining to do. How did she know about Damon while she knew absolutely nothing about him. She never even heard of him. Well Stefan did say he didn't talk to his siblings but still.

Damon was about to lean in when he heard Caroline get up and say Stefan's name. He didn't even hear him come in. Lilian didn't either and she knew she wasn't paying attention to her senses while she was staring at Damon. Lilian and Damon both inwardly cursed at getting distracted by one another.

"Hello brother,I thought I keep them company until you came back" Damon said acting like a douche. Caroline ignored him and went up to hug Stefan. While she hugged him she felt he was tense.

"I'm sorry I came unexpected but you weren't answering my text and I got worried" Caroline rambled but Stefan hushed her.

"It's okay Caroline,and I'm sorry for that" Caroline nodded smiling brightly at him.

"Yeah Stefan sorry on my end too,Caroline wanted to see you so I was the one who convinced her it was a good idea. I even dropped her off" Lilian said taking the blame. Damon watched Stefan look at his arm on Lilian's shoulder so he got up and stepped away from the couch and Lilian.

"When Lilian came and with her sister I couldn't let them leave,so I told them to stay and wait for you" Damon said smirking. "They're great company especially Lilian" Damon said turning to wink at her. Lilian rolled her eyes and got up and stood next to Damon.

Caroline turned back to Stefan and shook her head remembering something. "Why didn't you tell me your brother was in town and Lilian knew him before I did?" Stefan didn't know Damon met Lilian before this day so he was as confused as she was about that. Damon watched Stefan take in the new information and Lilian shifted uncomfortably by both Stefan and Caroline's eyes.

"I never knew that they knew each other. I thought you both met him just now,and he just came into town a couple days ago. I didn't tell anyone he was in town or he was my brother" Stefan said watching Damon closely. Caroline looked at how the two's body language was uncomfortable and they both shifted on their feet but both their facial expressions were calm.

"Lilian why didn't you tell me?" Caroline said shocked.

Lilian felt guilty and was about to talk when Damon stood protectively in-front of her. "She didn't tell you cause I told her I wanted to surprise Stefan and didn't want anyone ruining it. After that I told her not to tell anyone about me until I introduced myself to them on my own terms" Damon said lying but looking like he was honest. Stefan knew his brother though and didn't believe it. But Caroline did when she looked at her sister.

"It's true,he didn't want me telling anyone Care. I'm sorry I didn't tell you" she was sorry but it slipped her mind and she didn't think to tell her. She also thought Stefan would but then again he wasn't gonna tell anyone cause he was hoping Damon would leave before he could.

Caroline forgave her but she was still wondering what was going on between her and Damon. "Thanks for checking in on me but I'll call you later" Stefan said to Caroline,Lilian got the hint.

"C'mon Caroline,we should leave" Damon grabbed her arm while she was leaving.

"Don't I get a hug before you go?" He said pouting.

"Stefan can you walk me out?" Caroline asked grabbing his hand pulling him towards the foyer. He listened and walked her to the car.

Lilian pulled out of his hold feeling tingles where he touched and faced him. She gave him a hug and wrapped her arms around his waist. Damon wrapped his arms around hers and they sat comfortably. Damon our his head in the crook of her neck right where her pulse was. She rested her head on his chest and his body felt warm for a dead person. Her heartbeat was racing from the close contact. Damon's face changed and he had to relax.

His face hasn't done that in decades by close contact,who was this girl. Lilian smelled his cologne and it smelled so good. Meanwhile Damon was having certain thoughts so he slowly pulled away. They both missed the contact and just stood there afterwards. Damon moved a strand of her hair behind her ear. "See you later Piccola" Damon said letting the nickname roll of his tongue smoothly. Lilian would've swooned the way he said it but instead she just blushed and said goodbye and left.

Damon watched her leave and heard her and Caroline get in the car and leave. Stefan came in and looked at him disappointed. When is he never disappointed in him,Damon thought.

"Go ahead and say it Stefan,I wanna hear another one of your rants" he said sarcastically. Stefan just looked at him and it made him angry. "Don't just look at me say what you gotta say "dude" " he said sarcastically.

"You like her" Stefan paused but continued. "You like her and your afraid of liking her especially since your in love with Katherine still. That's why you came back to Mystic Falls. You followed me to torture me about the Katherine thing" Damon stepped closer to Stefan and looked at him.

"I don't know what your talking about because I'm incapable of feeling. I'm just an emotionless dick and I won't tell you why I'm here Stefan" He made a disapproving sound. "Noo that is no fun at all" Damon left the parlor and grabbed disappeared somewhere else in the house. He only came to Mystic falls cause he wanted that Tomb opened and to see if Katherine was actually in there. If she wasn't then those pictures were real and she obviously didn't care about him if she's partying and talking to new people but never reached out once.

Damon threw his lamp pissed just thinking about it. He kept his heart devoted to her for 145 years yet this is what she does to him?! His nose flared in anger and he sat down on his bed now thinking about the girl who can possibly make her way into his heart.

Stefan stood there for a little bit and then thought about what Damon said. He cared about Lilian like she was his sister like Caroline's. He didn't want either of them swept into the Supernatural world. When he walked Caroline to the car he promised to make it up to her by hanging out with her later. For now he went upstairs to get ready,hearing the crash coming from Damon's room. Damon only threw things when he was really upset,maybe it was him bringing up Katherine.

Meanwhile Lilian was dropping Caroline off at a clothing store while she went to go see Tyler. She arrived at his house and his dad was nice enough to tell him Tyler was upstairs but not which room was his. She'll figure it out.

"Knock knock" she said when she found him. He smiled and opened the door and closed it.

"I'm glad you could come,Matt cancelled on me and I didn't wanna order pizza for nothing. Lilian licked her lips. She could eat right now,she was hungry anyways.

"Yeah good thing you have me,I could eat the whole pizza right now" she said sitting down on his bed casually. Tyler grabbed his controller and she noticed he had paused his game when she came in.

"Good,your payment is food while you hear me talk about my problems while watching me play a video game" he said distracted

"Deal Lockwood,go ahead and tell me what's wrong" Tyler started talking about Vicki and how he just wants something temporary right now. He also talks about how he feels bad about doing it to Matt but he just lets his dick do the talking for him.

That was all that happened while she was there. She was there for a couple hours and the pizza was good. Lilian left and went home to a empty house. Caroline told her she was at the Grille with Stefan and she was gonna be home late and her mom left her money for dinner saying she was staying at work late. Lilian probably wasn't gonna see her mom till tomorrow morning or after school.

Lilian showered and changed her clothes. Her hair was wet from the shower so she put it in a bun and let it dry that way. She liked her full thick hair but sometimes she didn't even wanna touch it cause she didn't know much styles. She decided to read a book sitting on her window seat not paying attention,lost in her book. She didn't know Damon was watching her intently,seeing her beautiful long hair in a messy bun while her pretty green orbs were concentrated on the words written on paper.

He didn't know how one minute he was laying in bed and the next he was outside in the Forbes backyard looking at the petite girl from her window. He called her Piccola earlier and hasn't spoken Italian in who knows how long. There was something familiar about her when he first saw her. Like he met her before the cemetery. He didn't even know why he decided to make himself known there,he just wanted to hear how she spoke,wanted her to talk to him and smile at him not Stefan.

He felt jealous whenever he saw her and his brother interact at school. He didn't like how comfy Stefan was getting with Lili,he already had the sister he didn't need to befriend Lilian too. Damon knee he was being crazy cause he saw Stefan liked Caroline and was only a friend to Lilian but he wanted to be closer to her then his brother. His brother was out with the sister and Damon noticed Lilian was always alone. Caroline knew Lilian would be home alone yet she's at the Grille flirting with his brother. Then that Sheriff who happens to be their mom is working late instead trying to get home to her youngest.

Damon scoffed,their both terrible to Lilian. But don't worry cause Damon was gonna take care of her. Damon saw her look up from her book and hid behind a tree and saw her look out her window. She looked around outside and got up and left her room. He heard her little footsteps patter quietly across the floorboards to the kitchen where she got out some brownie mix. Damon was confused to how she just suddenly started to make brownies but watched her get out the ingredients. He wondered if she saw his number in her bag yet. As soon as he thought that her cell phone rang and it was in her bag. She went to the couch to get it and answered it coming back into his view.

She was looking at the piece of paper and he saw her have a small smile as she read what he put. She talked to her sister on the phone telling her to be calm as it seemed Stefan and her were having a good time and Caroline sounded nervous thinking something bad was gonna ruin it. Lilian calmed her sister down and when Stefan came back Caroline quickly hung up. Lilian put Damon's number in her phone and Damon saw her text him.

His phone vibrated and he looked at the message. It read "Your sneaky,I don't recall seeing you put this in my bag" He snickered.

"When I heard you in my house I wrote it down but I didn't put it in your bag till we hugged" He replied with. She called him which surprised him but he answered before it rang twice.

"Smooth Salvatore" She said as soon as he answered.

"You called first,I thought I was going too" He said smirking at her when she finished getting the bowl and spoon out.

"Yeah well I'm bored and by myself. Did you know I got so bored I decided to make brownies?" She said getting out the pan. He chuckled.

"I never would've guessed" he answered with watching as she prepared the batter.

"Yeah well that's desperate bored" She said. Lilian paused and thought about something. "Hey are you gonna be busy at all this weekend?" He thought for a moment.

"Nope I will be free that weekend,why?" He asked. She started to put the eggs in the batter.

"Because Friday is the Kickoff game and Sunday is the Founders day party" Lilian put him on speaker. "My Family has to go and I have no date and I know Caroline will take Stefan and Jeremy and Tyler are gonna fight over Vicki and Bonnie will go happily single or her and Elena will go together. That leaves me all alone"

"Sure I don't mind but you'll be seen with a bad guy like me,wouldn't your mom get mad?" Lilian scoffed.

"Who cares,she keeps choosing work over me and she's always liked Caroline better. Plus she loved Caroline's dad but just had a fling with mines" Lilian confided in him. Damon soaked up that information and couldn't imagine how she felt being the non planned child. He was the bastard child for his and imagined her being the one for her family.

"My parents were married but I wasn't my dad's favorite,so I get how it feels" There was a comfortable silence and Lilian was mixing the batter.

"Yeah well subject change I'm done making these brownies. I just gotta put them in the oven now" she said happy. Damon smiled and watched her pour it in the pan and into the oven. She cleaned up and set a timer on the oven and went upstairs back to her window seat.

"I bet they'll taste delicious" he said watching her look absently at the sky.

"Oh they will,and you'll get to try them" Lilian said. "I'll come to the Boarding house sometime tomorrow"

"When tomorrow?" Damon questioned.

She hummed. "It's a surprise,hopefully you'll be there I wouldn't want you missing out on the experience to try them and miss seeing me" He rolled his eyes humored by her.

"Yes I wouldn't wanna miss out seeing you" Damon said and he listened to her heartbeat and found it was beating calmly. "I hope to see you tomorrow Piccola" he whispered.

Lilian shivered and suddenly her room felt cool. "Can't wait Damon" She said her voice low and breathless. Her pulse quickened and heartbeat skipped.
