Chapter Seven|Not Lost Just Out Of Place

"I can't believe you went out to do heavens knows what meanwhile forgetting to let me know so that I wouldn't have to worry about you Euphoria!" Tasha screeched over the phone.

"Look I truly am sorry Tasha. I just wanted to clear my head and do nothing but have time to myself. I'm just not used to people caring so much ok."  Euphoria sighed heavily.

"Where the hell is it that you went that you just couldn't pick up your phone and shoot me a text. You didn't even need to call me back." Tasha interrogated.

"I was at the library and had put my phone on silent. You know how librarians are." She lied through her teeth.

Tasha scoffed. "Alright then I'll see you on Monday since you're so well to be moving around on your own."

"C'mon Tash don't be like that. I said I'm sorry." She didn't feel a smidge of guilt.

"Bye girl."

Before she could respond she was met the dial tone. Euphoria rolled her eyes before stuffing her phone in her pocket. Euphoria had a rude awakening to her phone falling off her bedside table from ringing so much. Tasha had been blowing up her phone since yesterday. She couldn't answer her phone yesterday because she had left it in Demetrius's pocket after she put it on silent during the date. Euphoria as a person doesn't like giving much detail to just anyone about her life so she chose not to tell Tasha about her date. She wanted to see where things would go before letting her in on what has been going on. But for now she wanted to enjoy it as much as possible. At least I didn't lie about my phone being on silent.

When she had gotten back to university Euphoria was thrown into work and had to schedule a date for her to write a test that she missed. She was set to write it tomorrow. She could feel the stress and a headache coming on. She was greatful that in the past weeks she had dotted down all the important aspects that could come up in a test. Of course now she wouldn't be tested on the same thing that everyone had been tested on, but she would study it just in case the professor decided to surprise her.

"Miss Kreek, there is someone here who needs to speak to you." The professor said as he stood at the door.

Her nose was buried so far into her books that she didn't notice the professor step away from the board. Quickly standing to her feet she made her way to the front.

"Yes?" Euphoria looked at the man who dressed formally with a brief case in hand.

"Good morning ma'am I'd like to speak to you outside please."

"Look I'm sorry I've been absent for the pass two days. I can't miss anymore class time but you can speak to me afterwards."

"What we need to discuss is quiet important."

"Listen sir. My student needs to focus. These are important topics we need to discuss. You can sit inside and wait on her before you can speak." The professor stepped in. "Is that ok with you Euphoria?"

"Yes sir thank you." She smiled at her professor. "This is my last class for the day so we can speak as freely afterwards, ok?"

Euphoria didn't wait for his response before she found herself in her seat and continued to take down notes. Once the professor had dismissed class Euphoria quickly packed up her things to get the strange man out the room. Grabbing her textbooks and the extra books she got from the library she stumbled her way to the front.

"We can go to my office."

"Is it a walking distance?" Euphoria asked.

"Yes but I drove here." He explained himself.

"Great we'll walk. I could really use the exercise and I don't trust just anyone to get into their car." She threw a smile at him before falling into step with him. "I'm Euphoria Kreek, I'd shake your hand but my hands are occupied right now." She gestured to the books in her hands.

"I'm David Daniels."

"What do you do Mr. Daniels?"

"I'm a lawyer."

"What does a lawyer want with me?" She asked out loud as she stopped walking and faced him.

"Lets wait until we reach the privacy of my office to discuss that."

"Alright."

Euphoria followed him to a large law firm and followed him to his huge spacious office. He must be some big shot lawyer to have an office like this. She thought to herself as she placed her books and backpack on the chair besides the one she fell into.

"You're father Martin Kreek, married to your mother Alyssa Kreek, had a brother named Marvin Kreek. Twin brother at that." David slid a picture in her direction. "They both had a falling out when you were still an infant and never spoke to one another afterwards."

"How do you know all this?" She squinted her eyes at him.

"He told me each time he updated his will or had matters that required my expertise." David stated.

"You said had. What happened to him?" Euphoria frowned at the picture in her fingertips.

"He passed away recently from a heart attack."

"Oh, did he have a family of his own?"

"Yes he did. Melissa Creek his wife and his daughter Paula Creek. Their surnames are spelt with a 'C' instead of a 'K' like yours." David explained.

"So you know why they had a falling out?"

"No. That's one thing your uncle didn't share with me." He shook his head. "However, he did speak off his long lost niece."

"I wasn't lost." Euphoria pointed out.

"To him you were. He was meant to have full custody over you when your parents passed on. But, his wife Melissa somehow made you disappear. Your uncle knew she had done something but had no proof."

"And he still stayed married to her?" She arched her brow.

"No, they got a divorce." He explained. "He spent most of his time searching for you, taking care of his daughter and running his company. In which he sold after he started having heart problems."

"So how did you find me?" Her brows narrowed in question.

"Marvin had hired multiple private investigators and one of them came forward with information about you. Soon enough in a matter of months he had found you. But before he could introduce himself to you he had a heart attack." David stated. "I'm sorry for your loss dear."

Euphoria slowly nodded her head as she tried to take in the information he'd just given her. "That still doesn't explain as to why you still came to find me."

"Your uncle had been an owner off a company worth millions anr had many things to leave behind once dead. He left his ex wife with 25 million dollars and the mansion they had when they were married. He left his daughter with the all the villas and mansions he had bought all over the world, all his cars and 25 million dollars as well." David explained. "He left you his first watch he bought, his first expensive car, the first penthouse he owned which happens to be in the city and majority of his wealth of 500 million dollars, half a billion in other words."

Euphoria couldn't do anything but to gape at him. "You've got to be shítting me."

"I wish I was." David chuckled.

"Damn. He must've paid you well."

"Yes he did." David nodded. "I'm living the life I live now because of him."

"This must be some sort of joke." Euphoria began looking around for cameras.

"Here it is in writing." David slid over the file to her. "With his signature and everything."

Euphoria didn't hesitate to read through the will over and over again. "He left you a few of his shares." Euphoria pointed out.

"Yes. He was quiet generous. He gave something to all his workers. Or those who worked for him. Turn the page."

She did just that and sure enough her uncle did leave everybody something. "I wish I knew him. He sounds amazing." She stated sadly realising that he was no more.

"I do apologise for you loss. I could give you the address to his tomb stone."

"I'd like that." She gave him a sad smile. "So what is it that I need to do?"

"Well it's just paper work and by tomorrow everything he left to you will be transferred under your name. We can get everything done now."

"How long will it take? I don't mean to sound rude and ungrateful but I did state that I had been absent and I need to study for a test for tomorrow that I missed during my absenteeism."

"It won't take long, an hour at the most, if we're quick enough. And I don't mind. You seem to take you're studies seriously."

"I do take it seriously."

"Well let's get a move on. You're about to be a millionaire Euphoria Kreek."
