Jace and Blake enjoyed their last summer together in the same state. They spent almost everyday together, most days it was them and Tony since Tony wasn't accepted into Ohio state.

It was the day Jace was packing his car at six a.m and moving to Ohio, everyone was bummed even Sparrow sensing everyone's sad moods.

Jace finished saying goodbye to his family, his mom who was sobbing at her first born officially moving out and on his own.

His family stood back as he went up to Blake who was leaning against his car with Sparrow laying on the grass beside her. The feeling of abandonment creeping up on her due to the fact her dad had left her so suddenly and Jace was doing the same. Well, not the same but he was still leaving. It was hard to explain.

"Hi baby" he murmured.

She looked up at him and gave him a hug, not wanting to let him go. Despite her being able to go visit him whenever she really wanted to, she knew she couldn't. He would be busy with school, football practice nonstop, and the games. She knew he would hardly have free time even if she had almost all the free time in the world.

"I'll FaceTime you tonight, is that okay?"

She nodded and he felt her plant a small kiss on his shoulder.

"I have to get going now."

She sighed and let go, giving his lips a soft kiss.

"I love you" she said quietly.

He smiled back at her and rubbed his thumb beneath her eyes, his hand holding her face as his fingers playing with her purple hair.

"I love you bubba."

He saw the twinkle in her eyes slowly appear and happiness soared through him despite the circumstances.

"I'll see you later?" he said rather than saying goodbye.

She nodded, "please drive safe and text me when you get there so I know you made it okay."

His heart thumped erratically at her statement and he nodded instantly. "I will I promise."

She smiled at that, the bright twinkle still there as he gave her one last kiss.

He gave Sparrow another belly rub as a goodbye as his tongue flopped happily out of his mouth. Jace waved goodbye to everyone and slid into his car and drove off.

When Jace finally got to his school around five thirty p.m he was exhausted. He was driving for almost twelve hours straight besides the four stops to stretch his legs or fill up his tank which was only twice.

He got his room key and unlocked it to see someone already there laying on the small twin sized bed.

"Hey, you're Jace I assume?"

Jace nodded at the tall blonde haired brown eyed boy who now stood up.

"I'm Tommy nice to meet you."

"Yeah you too."

He plopped some of his stuff on the bed and propped open the door with one of his bags.

"You need help bringing your stuff in?" Tommy asked him, pushing up his slightly small framed glasses.

"Yeah sure, thanks."

Jace led him to his car and for the next five minutes they thought his stuff in. Jace unpacked a bit and stored some stuff away before kicking all the stuff off his bed and onto the floor. He plopped himself onto his bed, completely exhausted over the day of traveling.

"I'm from just about an hour away, what about you?"

"Mass."

"Ah, so I assume you drove all eleven hours here?"

Jace nodded and texted Blake that he had arrived at his dorm room safe and sound.

He laid there for a bit, before getting up and wanted to unpack some more despite his tired state. He put a family framed picture on the small desk that the room provided for him since Tommy had one as well. He also put a framed picture of him and Blake riding skateboards together.

"Your girlfriend?" Tommy asked as he pointed to the photo.

"Yeah, it'll be two years in December."

Tommy nodded, he wish he was in a relationship. It wasn't his fault every girl he liked just showed no interest in him.

"I'm going to get some Wendy's you want anything?"

Jace gave him his order and fifteen bucks before grabbing some stuff to take a shower. By the time he got out Tommy was back with their food and they ate in silence since Tommy began watching a movie off his laptop, headphones on so he couldn't hear anything besides the movie.

Jace laid in bed and once it was around ten he took out his phone.

"Do you mind if I call my girlfriend?" he asked his roommate, stifling a yawn while doing so.

"Go ahead, I'm going to watch some YouTube so do whatever."

Tommy plugged in his headphones again to give them some privacy as Jace called his girlfriend, the one he missed already.

"Hi bubba" he smiled over the phone.

"Hi" she spoke softly, he saw Sparrow's head peaking up a bit underneath the phone.

"I miss you already" he mumbled.

She frowned a bit, "I miss you too."

They just laid there for a bit, just staring at each other through the screen.

"You look tired" she spoke softly.

"I am, you sleepy yet?" he asked almost in a baby voice.

He did miss her already.

"Yeah" she murmured before yawning.

"I'm sleeping with my hoodie that smells like you" Jace said which Blake smiled at.

"I have your favorite red hoodie, I hope you don't mind."

He watched as she showed the camera the hoodie and he only smiled in response. "I don't, I just hope when I get it back it'll smell like you."

"It will."

They laid in silence some more and Jace felt himself falling asleep but he made himself open his eyes to see Blake was doing the same.

"I'm going to go on to bed now bubba, you do the same."

"Okay."

"Goodnight I love you" Jace said softly.

"I love you too, goodnight."

He hung up and crashed immediately after that.
