Blake watched the sunrise from her car and grumbled at her lack of sleep and sore back.

She couldn't sleep no matter how much she tried and she put deodorant on that she always keeps in her car along with perfume.

Her car was grossly hot and sticky last night making her crack all the windows open letting somewhat of a cool breeze come into the stuffy car.

The purple haired girl waited for the visiting hours to open up before walking into the hospital. The same receptionist nodded at her as she walked towards the elevator to get on Jace's floor.

Jace laid awake, only waking up an hour ago as his mom slept quietly on the couch.

He clicked through the channels and he heard the door open, smiling when he saw Blake.

"Hi baby" he smiled, but then frowned realizing she was still in the clothes from yesterday.

"Hi, you feeling better?"

"Yeah, why are you still in the same clothes?"

She shrugged and sat in the chair quietly, not wanting to wake his mom up.

"Did you go home last night?"

"I stayed in my car."

He gave her a look and she grabbed his hand, moving her thumb around his.

"Did you at least sleep?"

She shook her head and he made her stand up and look at him. He noticed the bags under her eyes making him sigh.

"Come on, you need to sleep."

"I feel fine, did they give you breakfast yet?"

"Blake."

She rolled her eyes and Tammy sat up, yawning.

"Good morning guys" she smiled tiredly at them.

"Mom, can you tell Blake to go home and sleep?"

Tammy looked at Blake and saw the look on her face before looking at Jace.

"She is her own person, I won't tell her to do anything she doesn't want to. I'm going to get some coffee, would any of you like some?"

The teens declined her offer and she walked out of the room as Jace groaned.

"Please, I can scoot over so you can sleep right here."

Blake shook her head and scratched her knee. "I'm not even tired, stop complaining."

He groaned again and stared at the ceiling.

"My head is killing me" he said with a loud sigh.

Blake pressed the nurse button and watched a nurse walk in almost immediately.

"What seems to be the issue?"

"My head hurts really bad."

Jace's doctor walked in and ran some tests before giving him a shot to reduce the pain.

"Do you know when I can leave?"

"No, probably when your neck is fine to move."

Jace sighed, "well there goes our summer."

Blake kept her sarcastic remark to herself before Tony walked back into the room.

"Hey man!"

Blake sat on the couch, texting her mom what was happening as she drowned out their conversation.

"So he's fine?"

"Yeah, he's at home right now while his mom is coddling him like a baby."

Blake bit her tongue, not wanting to say shit about their friend just yet.

"I'm glad he's doing good."

"Yeah, he was an idiot but I'm glad his injuries aren't serious."

"You do realize he could have killed you right?"

They snapped their attention to Blake making Tony raise his eyebrows at her.

"I'm well aware but Ethan is our friend."

"Yeah a pretty shitty one."

"Listen-"

"Tony don't" Jace warned.

"No, she can't be saying shit about him. He's our friend, yeah he was a fucking idiot but he didn't get either of them killed. So stop acting like a bitch and acting like you know everything about him over one dumb mistake."

"Yeah well that dumb mistake would have costed Jace his life and I really don't take that lightly. You can fuck off too."

Blake walked out of the room and Jace sighed.

"You need to control your girl."

"She just.. this topic is touchy with her. Don't be calling her names and leave her alone please."

Tony rolled his eyes, "she's acting like you are in a full body cast, you're okay you're not dead."

"She lost her dad last year to a drunk driver Tony."

Jace wanted to slap himself for telling Tony, she obviously didn't want anyone to know but yet he let it slip.

"Oh."

"Just- just don't say anything okay? I wasn't supposed to say anything but she was just upset and frustrated, she didn't want to lose me the same way she lost her dad."

"Now I feel like a dickhead" Tony mumbled.

"You're always a dickhead" Jace said, to try and lighten the mood.

Tony gave him a look but laughed lightly nonetheless.
