It was the first day of December. Everyone was talking about Christmas break and what they planned on doing since everyone will be away for almost two weeks.

Blake cupped her hands and put them against her mouth as she blew into them. She rubbed them together and stuffed them in her jacket pocket as she rushed inside. She was greeted with the heated school and nodded in approval.

She absolutely hated winter, it was her least favorite season. She hated the snow, she hated how cold it got and she hated how everything suddenly turned to ice.

Her favorite season was fall with all the leaves changing colors and it was cool outside. Not too cold, but winter, she just absolutely hated it.

"Hey baby."

She smiled at Jace and pecked his cold lips.

"Your nose is cold" he frowned.

"My nose is always cold."

He pecked her nose softly before intertwining their cold hands together.

"You ready for our date tonight?"

Jace and Blake still aren't anything. They have been taking it really slow, just kissing and cuddling. But Jace is finally going to ask Blake to be his girlfriend.

"Only took ten years for it to actually happen."

Jace gave Blake a look and she laughed.

"I'm teasing John, calm your tits."

He beamed down at her since she was wearing her vans today and guided her down the hall.

"You fell asleep on me last night" he mumbled.

"I was really tired! You know you could have hung up."

"Yes I know but you look so cute sleeping."

Blake raised an eyebrow at him and he let out a laugh.

"I know you don't like being all cutesy but I do."

"You just said cutesy, I'm gonna vomit."

He laughed at Blake and his eyes twinkled with happiness.

"Get a move on love birds!" Tony laughed as he walked into his and Blake's class.

"Fuck off Tony" Blake glared.

She has gotten used to Tony's presence, I mean Jace and him are best friends so she had to. She still didn't like the fact that he used to hit on her but he apologized for that. Besides, Jace was over it.

"I have to get to class."

Blake nodded and he kissed her softly, cupping her cold cheek gently.

"See you at lunch?"

Blake nodded and Jace kissed her addicting lips once again.

He loved the way her lip ring felt against his lips. It made him feel some type of way that he couldn't explain.

"Bye baby."

"Later skater."

When the school had finally ended, Blake rushed to her car since the wind was blowing making everything ten times colder.

She got in and started it up, blasting her heaters waiting for Jace. His car was in the shop and since Tony couldn't bring him home because he had plans Blake was his ride. Not that he was complaining.

She saw Jace jogging towards her car a few minutes later, slipping on a piece of ice and almost falling before catching himself. She laughed to herself and he threw himself into the warm car.

"That was not funny" he grumbled.

She laughed even louder with a snort and he just sat and admired her.

"Does your mom work today?"

"Yeah but London is home. We are going to watch a movie and drink hot coco."

"Then I drive your car home, I get ready for our date and I drive us to our destination."

Blake nodded and backed out of the parking lot before zooming off towards her house.

After an hour and forty five minutes, Jace was standing in the doorway as Blake hugged him.

"I'll see you in a few hours?"

She nodded and looked up at him and he smiled down at her.

"Dress warm this time, okay?"

She nodded once more and he bent down slightly to give her a soft kiss on her lips he loved so much.

"My tank is almost empty, could you fill it up beforehand?"

He nodded and she pulled out a twenty from her back pocket.

"I'll pay."

He kissed her again as his hands sat lightly on her hips.

"Sorry!" London said as she stumbled out of the room.

The two teens pulled apart and Jace turned bright red as Blake rolled her eyes.

"Bye baby" he mumbled embarrassedly.

He left quickly and Blake rolled her tongue against her lip ring.

§

Blake began getting ready at six twenty six. She fell asleep and realized Jace would be picking her up here at seven sharp which means she had thirty four minutes to shower and get ready.

The minute she stepped out of the shower she dried off before throwing on an old band t shirt that she wears as pajamas sometimes and a pair of clean underwear.

She let her hair air dry a bit when she looked for something to wear. She pulled a dark red sweater out of her closet, an article of clothing that's been sitting there for almost a year and never touched.

Blake had clothes in her closet that she has gotten but never ended up wearing, or clothes she wore maybe once and just never wore again. She never got rid of them though, for some reason she couldn't.

Blake took the red sweater off the hanger, the plastic hanger flying up slightly as she did so before finding her black ripped jeans in her drawers. She grabbed her fishnets as well and blow dried her hair before she put her clothes on.

When her hair became almost completely dry, she slid the clothes on her body and nodded at her reflection. It was now six forty seven and she sat down on the floor right by her mirror and began to do her usual makeup.

Once the time hit seven, she sprayed her perfume on, laced up her high top vans and tucked her phone into her back pocket. She stuffed her wallet in her bra, and rushed downstairs just as the doorbell rang.

"Who's at the door?" Susie asked as she walked up from the basement just as Blake opened the door.

Jace stood there with his hands in his jean pockets as he stood nervously on their front porch. He wore blue jeans with a black hoodie with a black and red flannel over it and his low top converse. His hair was styled messily like he always wears it with a nervous smile on his face.

"It's Jace" Blake sighed.

"Oh, I didn't know you guys had plans" Susie said.

"That's because I didn't say anything."

"What are you guys going to do?" Susie questioned before Blake could take another step.

"We are going on a date actually."

Blake smacked him and Susie's eyes widened.

"A date?"

Blake hummed and sighed, "bye mom."

She shut the door quickly behind them and glared at Jace.

"Why would you tell her that?" she hissed lowly.

"I didn't think it was a secret!"

"I didn't tell my mom because now she is going to lecture me, she already made me get on the pill for no reason."

Jace frowned and stopped her from opening the car door.

"I'm sorry" he said softly.

She sighed once more and looked up at him slightly.

"It's okay."

He gave her a soft kiss despite the cold weather surrounding the two love struck teens.

"You look beautiful though."

"Thanks, you look hot."

Jace chocked on his own saliva at her bluntness and Blake laughed loudly as she slid into the car. He got in the car quickly with a red face making Blake snort.

"Y-you called-"

"I know what I said, just drive the car John" Blake teased.

"Oh, right."

He turned the car on and buckled up before pulling out of the driveway.

After a twenty five minute drive, they pulled into a cute little diner place. It was Jace's favorite place to go with his family and he knows Blake has never been.

"I'm so glad it's not a fancy restaurant" Blake joked.

"That's not in my budget."

Blake laughed at the face he made and he got out of the car. He rushed around to open Blake's door but she already shut the car door behind her.

"I was going to open your door" he sighed.

"Would you like me to get back in the car?"

"Yes I would."

She gave Jace look to which he only smiled brightly at. Blake got in her car and closed the door just as Jace opened the door again not even a second later.

"That's so nice of you to open my door for me!"

Jace laughed at Blake and he led her inside as he held onto her hand.

"Welcome to Rosie's Diner! Take a seat anywhere."

The place only had a family of five and an elderly couple in it. Jace led her to a booth seat next to the window and slid in across from Blake.

An older woman came over wearing a black apron around her waist and smiled at the two teens before handing them their menus.

"My name is Shelly I'll be your waitress for this evening. I'll be right back shortly."

Jace smiled at her as Blake didn't pay much attention since she was looking for a drink.

The two sat in silence looking for what they were going to order. When Blake put her menu aside Jace looked up at her.

"What are you getting?"

"A cheeseburger with curly fries and an Oreo milkshake."

"Isn't it too cold for a milkshake?"

"It's never too cold for a milkshake."

Jace laughed softly at her and pushed his menu aside just as Shelly came back.

"What would you guys like to drink?"

"An Oreo milkshake."

"A water."

Shelly nodded and glanced at the teens again.

"Have you decided what you would want?"

"I want a cheeseburger with no tomatoes and a side of curly fries."

"And the sauce?"

"Honey mustard and ketchup."

Shelly scribbled down her order and looked at Jace.

"I'll get a cheeseburger as well with no pickles and a side of waffles fries. Ranch for the sauce."

"Alrighty! Your drinks will be out shortly."

She took the menus and walked away as Jace thanked her. He turned his attention to Blake who was on her phone making him frown.

"Are you bored?"

"No! I was just going to take some pictures. I wish I brought my camera."

He smiled softly as she took a few pictures of the place with her phone before tucking it back in her back pocket.

The two sat in comfortable silence, Jace staring at Blake as she watched a few cars drive by every few minutes. The chatter in the diner was soft, every so often you could hear one of the kids laughing from the table of five. The buzzing and clinking of utensils were heard from the kitchen but they weren't too loud as the kitchen staff walked around the kitchen preparing the food.

The front entrance bell dinged as the door opened, welcoming whoever walked in.

"Welcome to Rosie's Diner! Take a seat anywhere!"

A middle aged man sat right up at the counter top as Shelly walked over handing the two teens a drink.

"Enjoy" she smiled before walking off to the man who had just walked in.

Blake sipped on her milkshake and hummed in delight.

"Want to try some?"

She slid her tall cup over to Jace as he took a sip.

"I wish I got this" he chuckled.

She stuck her tongue out at him and he slid it back over to her.

"Do I have to get up or will you?" Blake asked as she stirred her milkshake slightly.

"What?"

"Being across from you is too bleh, you know I don't like talking much so I feel bad. Do you want to get up or will I?"

"I can."

Jace got up and slid into the same seat as Blake was in and she smiled up at him as his heart melted.

"Hi baby" he said softly.

He pecked her lips softly as she leaned her head against his shoulder.

He would peck her forehead every few minutes, as Blake played with his right hand. She traced his veiny hands from the workouts he did when he played football as she looked at her long fingers covered in rings.

Shelly held the teens food in both her hands as she smiled at the young couple. She remembered the good days with her girlfriend back in high school. Back then not too many people were a fan of the lgbtq+ and that's why their relationship was a secret. Her heart ached missing her ex girlfriend, the one she was going to marry but had died of colon cancer almost seven years ago. She still missed her and had so much love for her, even if she did move on.

"Enjoy" Shelly smiled at the two of them as Jace sent her a smile.

She could tell Blake wasn't much of a social person, her ex girlfriend Tonya was the same way.

The two of them dug into their food in silence, Shelly coming back to refill their drinks as Blake had her left leg rest over Jace's right thigh. When they both had downed their food Shelly placed the bill on their table, took their plates away and walked back to the kitchen.

"Holy crap this place is expensive" Jace mumbled.

For two milkshakes, three waters, two cheeseburgers and a side of fries came out to sixty two dollars and forty seven cents.

He never knew this place was so expensive, his parents always hid the bill from him and his siblings.

"I can pay" Blake shrugged.

She stuffed her hand in her bra to pull her wallet out. Jace furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head.

"No, I asked you out on this date I'm paying."

He pulled his wallet out and pulled out fifty dollars. He grumbled and scratched his head.

"Let me just pay for my meal then."

Jace frowned and sighed, "I'm sorry."

Blake flashed him a smile and looked at what her meal costs before putting that much money on the table.

"Don't be sorry, I really don't mind paying."

He gave her a quick kiss, just as the family of five walked passed them and he slightly turned red at the fact that they saw.

Shelly came back and smiled widely at the forty five dollar tip Blake graciously gave her. She knew that waiters and waitress live off the tips they make so she decided to be nice with the lack of communication on her part.

The two teens walked out of the warm diner, Jace waving goodbye to Shelly before ushering Blake into her car.

They sat in silence on their way to Blake's house. Jace was nervous. He wanted to ask her to be his girlfriend over dinner but he chickened out each opportunity he got. Blake looked at his nervous state and rolled her eyes. Tony told her that he was going to ask her tonight and she has been impatiently waiting but he hasn't done it yet.

Jace walked her to her doorstep and turned to look at him.

"Thanks for tonight."

"Of course" he beamed.

He went to go ask her but chickened out and only managed to choke out a goodnight.

"Wanna be my boyfriend?"

Jace stopped walking away and swiveled around to see Blake.

"What did you just say?"

"You know what I said, yes or no?"

"Yes!"

She laughed at his urgent tone and pulled him in for a kiss.

"You looked nervous about asking me so I decided to help you out."

"You knew?"

"Tony told me first period."

"Fuckin bitch."

Blake laughed loudly, snorting as well making Jace's face soften.

"Want to come in?"

"I would love to but Avery has her first game tomorrow morning and apparently she has a little solo in between innings. So thanks again for letting me borrow your car."

Blake nodded and gave him a kiss.

"Later skater."

"Bye baby" he smiled softly.

The minute her front door shut behind him he fist bumped the air while giving a little jump.
