"Mom I messed up."

Jace's mom, Tammy looked at her son who wore a guilty and sad look on his face.

"What did you do J?"

"I said something horrible to Blake, I didn't mean to it just came out because I was so angry. She looked so sad, I hope she doesn't believe it" Jace sighed.

After he got in the car it was a completely silent car ride. The minute he parked the car all his siblings rushed inside and to their rooms.

"Well, what did you say?" his mom questioned him as she sat next to him on the bar stool.

"I sorta, might have told her, that her mom doesn't love her" he mumbled.

His mom back handed him in the back of the head and he whined.

"Ow! What the heck!"

"Why would you say that?!" she asked him loudly as she hit him with a dish towel over and over again.

"Stop hitting me woman!" he groaned as he stumbled out of the chair.

"Do not call me woman boy!"

"Sorry mom" he mumbled like the mommas boy he was.

"Why in gods green earth would you tell her that her mother doesn't love her?"

"I don't know okay! I just know that her mom and her haven't been as close since her moms friend moved in and she just kept saying stuff to me and it just came out."

His mom sighed and Jace frowned.

"I don't know what to do ma, the look on her face after I said it broke my heart."

Tammy could tell that her son was completely in love. She really didn't know what to tell him.

"I say just give her some space, she clearly been through enough with her father. Just wait to talk to her, let her cool down."

He sighed impatiently but nodded. He then called everyone down to the living room.

"Do you know how I told you Blake is the daughter of Adam Sterling?"

They all nodded even though his siblings already knew what he was going to say.

"You guys can't tell anyone, if the word gets out her lawyer will sue us. Adam clearly kept it a secret so we have to respect that secret."

They all nodded and Jace focused his attention on Gracie. Gracie could not keep a secret, she always ended up saying it without even meaning it half the time. That's why no one trusted her with secrets.

"Especially you Gracie, you seriously can't tell this secret. Even if you accidentally do, play it off as a joke. No one can find out, okay?"

"I promise I'll try my hardest to keep it in."

And she meant it. She knew Jace really liked Blake, she also didn't want her parents to have to pay so much money. She didn't want to screw it up.

"So no one says a word?"

They all agreed and went back to what they were doing.

Meanwhile, Blake sat in her room very still. She replayed Jace's words in her head on a loop until she truly believed her mother really did not love her anymore.

She couldn't help but believe his words. Her mom covered up their matching tattoo together, she hardly talked to her, didn't care if she was home or not ever since London came to live with them.

Her really only family left doesn't even love her. It was moments like these that she wished she had a sibling. Just to know they would always be there.

She went through Instagram and selected a picture before typing a caption. It was her way of expressing herself without verbally telling someone. It just helped her.

It hurt that Jace said those things. He was supposed to be her friend but yet he got so mad at her over his doings. It wasn't her fault he found out. It wasn't her fault that he decided to share her secret with his family. She didn't ask him to do that, he did it himself.

She played with her rings and eventually her hands turned into fists.

She left the clothes she was wearing on and went straight to her gym. She wrapped her hands up as quickly as she can before putting on the boxing gloves. She punched the punching bag over and over again.

She screamed out but kept going until her wrists and knuckles hurt. She should have taken off her rings but she didn't. She just kept punching until she couldn't feel her hands anymore.

When she stopped she noticed her hands starting to turn purple and a few spots were bleeding.

She hissed as she took the wraps off her knuckles and went to the bathroom. She poured medicine on her open wounds and hissed as it burned.

"Fucking hell" she growled.

When it died down she used hand wraps and wrapped up her knuckles and groaned. She was reckless.

Her phone rang and she heard it from her room. She answered without looking at it.

"Hello?" she asked breathlessly.

"You okay?" Chris asked.

"Yeah, I'm good I was just working out."

"Is it alright if I come over? I want to see you."

"Uh yeah sure."

She held the phone in between her shoulder and ear as she took her rings off her sore fingers.

"I'll be over soon, I was already on my way."

She laughed slightly.

"Of course you are."

She hung up and waited downstairs on the couch for Chris to arrive. He let himself in and sighed at Blake's hands.

"What did you do?"

"I went a little too hard on the punching bag, no big deal."

He sat next to the girl and gave her a hug. He saw her Instagram picture and read the caption. He wanted to check up on her.

"I'm guessing today was a hard day?" he asked.

She nodded and played with the wrapping on her hand.

"Want to talk about it?"

She shrugged and leaned into Chris more. So they stayed silent for a few minutes.

"Do you think mom still loves me?" Blake asked breaking the silence.

"Why would you ask that? Of course she still loves you."

Blake didn't say anything for a few moments and Chris gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead.

"You don't think she hates looking at me right? Like my face doesn't make her mad? I've always been told I look more like dad than her and maybe she hates that" Blake mumbled.

She's been thinking Jace's words over in her head. Maybe he was right.

"She doesn't think that, your mother just has a weird way of coping."

The teen girl shrugged, "if you say so."

"Did someone say something to make you think that?"

"Jace did earlier, we got into a little argument."

Chris hand turned into a fist.

"He shouldn't have said that."

"I know, he is an ass."

The two sat in silence for a while and eventually Blake fell asleep curled up against him. He moved gently, knowing she is a light sleeper and carried her up to her bed. He laid her down and opened up her phone.

It was an easy password. Two, three, two, six. Her dad's name.

He checked her messages with Jace and didn't find an address and looked at her gps app and found an address. He wrote it down on his arm and kissed the teen girl and sent a quiet apology for going through her phone.

He went to the address and made sure to keep his hat on and sunglasses on in case it wasn't the kids house.

He knocked up on the door and a woman answered.

"Can I help you?"

"Does anyone by the name of Jace live here?"

"Yeah, why?"

"I need to talk to him."

He made sure to fix his jacket collar since it began to fall down showing more of his face.

"Jace! Someone's at the door for you!"

Chris waited patiently before Jace appeared at the door. He stepped outside and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Can I help you?"

Chris took his sunglasses off and Jace's eyes widened.

"Holy shit! You're Chris Pratt!"

"I know, listen to me closely. I swear to god if you say anything to Blake that relates to her parents I won't hesitate to hurt you. I do not care if you are not eighteen yet, Blake is like a daughter to me and if you hurt that girl even more it will be bad."

Jace gulped and nodded.

"It was mistake, I didn't mean to say it."

"Yeah well that girl has already been through enough shit, so don't you ever think about hurting her again. I have way more connections than you ever will. Keep that in mind kid."

He walked away before Jace could say anything and drove off.

"Who was at the door sweetheart?" Tammy asked Jace the minute he stepped inside.

"Uh, Chris Pratt?"
