"Ava are you up and ready?" My mom hollered.

I got up out of bed and checked the time and saw I only had 15 minutes to get ready.

"Yeah I am." I answered back. I did my same routine, going to the bathroom where I saw Red sitting their watching me. Then after that I finished getting ready.

I walked down stairs and was met with my mom talking on the phone with someone and my dad pacing back and forth checking the time.

"We need to go now!" He said. "We only have 5 minutes to leave!"

He's too crazy about the time. I bet when he dies he's going to be waking up from the casket complaining that we didn't bury him on time.

"Calm down dear." My mom said walking to him.

My dad took a deep breath and looked at her, "Ok I am. Now can we please go?"

My mom smiled and pat his cheek, "Yeah we can. Let's go." She said turning to me. My dad grabbed the keys and practically took off to the car, starting it.

******

"Ok if you guys will. Please have a seat." Mrs. Murphy said. Me and my parents sat down in the seats in front of her.

"Ok so first things first. Whatever is said or shown in this room must stay in this room. There will be no recordings of some sort. Understood?" She asked us. We all nodded her heads.

"Ok good. Now Ava." She said looking at me. "From the beginning tell me everything you remember. Along with anything Steven has said too you. We will be able to use that information in court."

I sighed and began thinking back. "Well I guess it started when Ella got here." I began.

An hour or so went by where we just now ended our meeting.

"Ok now remember Ava. Do not tell anyone any information we went over and don't forget the things I told you to say while testifying." Murphy said.

We began walking out of the room but she stopped us, "Also the news has spread about this case, meaning all eyes will be on you. Be careful. I will see you in court on Friday." She said as she smiled a small smile before we left.

We left the building and got in the car and headed home. Thank goodness. I need a nap.

"Ava. If you want you don't have to go to school the next two days." My dad said.

I looked out the window, "It's fine. Nothing will really be any different."

My parents looked at each other then back at the road. "Ok."

****************

The next day when I was being dropped off at school, I was bombarded with people with cameras and news reporters asking me questions.

I just walked passed them ignoring them and headed to my class. I hate having this much attention on me. It'll cause more problems for me.

"Hey boo!" A all too familiar voice said.

"Yes Ella? What do you want?" I asked.

"Why do you think I want something?" She asked giving me a confused look.

I looked at her then back in front of me, "You always want something."

She gasped but shrugged her shoulders, "You're right. I want to hold you're hand." She said while holding my hand. She didn't even give me a choice... but I'm not complaining.

We continued walking to my class and it was annoying walking down the hall while people were staring at me and whispering amongst themselves. Some others either glared at me and some walked up to me apologizing. Murphy was right. News spreads quick in this town... I liked it better when people ignored me.

We turned the last corner to my class and to our surprise we saw Steven talking with his friends. They looked scared.

They saw us but didn't say anything. They just walked away and left, but Steven just glared at me for a while before leaving.

"That was weird." Ella said.

I turned to her and stopped, "I think I'm going to skip tomorrow after today. I don't really like people as it is and seeing them staring at me, whispering and coming up to me and talking to me is a pain to deal with."

Ella frowned but smiled, "I understand. I guess I'll just skip Thursday with you then."

"Do want you want." I said.

She gave me a kiss on the cheek, "I will because I know that's what you want also."

Without warning I turned her face and planted a soft kiss on her lips, "I'll see you later."

I walked into my classroom and headed straight to my seat ignoring all the stares and glares people are giving me.

This'll be another long day

*************

Friday came quickly. It seemed like sitting at home enjoying quietness, well somewhat quietness, and doing my art didn't even happen.

Though I'm glad it went by quick, because I couldn't think of anything to do for my art competition and the deadline is in 1 month.

"Hey Ava?" Are you ready. I was shook out of my thoughts and looked at Ella who was sitting by me. I didn't say anything and I guess she noticed I wasn't feeling ok.

"I'll be right there with you. Well sort of... I mean if you think about it I'll technically be behind you." She said rambling on.

I ignored her and looked outside where I saw a bunch of people waiting for me on the steps of the court building waiting to question me.

I felt Ella holding my hand. "Everything will be ok." She said assuring me.

I sighed and got out of the car, "Let's get this done and over with."

Me and Ella along with my parents headed to the building where we were met with reporters and cameras.

They immediately started asking questions about the case, Steven and even Ella since they saw me and her holding hands.

I ignored all the questions as we made our way up the stairs and inside where it was quiet.

"Hey their Ava." We turned and saw my lawyer Murphy walking towards us. "Are you ready?"

I sighed. "I guess."

She smiled and pat my back. "Let's head in."

We walked through the doors and their were quite a few people in the room. As I was walking down the isle I noticed that to my right were a few people from school and parents and when I looked to my left I noticed the same, but I saw some of my family members and Camren and Amor who was sitting in seat behind where I will be seating.

As I got closer to my seat I felt Ella's hand leave mine. I turned around and saw her and my parents sitting in seats by Amor and Camren. Ella looked at me smiling and gave me two thumbs up.

I sighed and turned back in front of me and continued to sit in my seat to the left.

Murphy sat right by me, but I couldn't help but glance over at Steven and his other three friends. His friends sat there looking scared while Steven sat there with a straight face, but when he turned and looked at me he glared.

Our staring was interrupted when the judge walked in. "All rise." He said.

He said a few things before we sat down, "The Henderson and Halden case will now be in session."

We all sat down while he continued talking about things I found boring. He then looked at Steven and his friends, "Will the first defended come up to the stand." Before he went to sit for questioning he was told to swear on the Bible first.

He then took a seat nearly crying in the process. He was shaking and could barely talk without bursting into more tears.

He was questioned by their lawyer and when Murphy got up to question him he literally broke down. He didn't give her a chance to talk before he admitted everything.

"We did it!" He cried. "We ganged up on Ava but I didn't hurt her. I was only the lookout." He said crying. "I'm so sorry Ava. I wanted to stop him, but I was scared." He didn't seem sorry at the time. He was laughing. He then looked at his parents and starting apologizing to them. After his little outburst everyone in the room started talking amongst themselves.

"Order in the court!" The judge hollered causing everyone to quiet down.

He then looked at the guy, Tanner and told him to go take his seat. He then looked at their lawyer and mine, motioning them to come to him and talk.

After a few minutes they came walking back to their seats, "That kid, Tanner, has the judges attention and we didn't have to pull out any evidence yet. But Mr. Adams, their lawyer, wants to question the others and you first."

The judge motioned another one of the guys to come forward to be questioned next.

30 or so minutes went by when it finally got to my turn. At this point there have been three different stories. Two of them told the truth while Duce told a lie.

It was my turn to be questioned and I was just ready to get this done and over with.

Their lawyer, Adam, began asking me questions first. He asked me all kinds of questions trying to shake me up and make me slip with some kind of lie, but it didn't work. After a few minutes of that he gave up and sat down.

My lawyer got up and began asking me questions of her own, which I replied to with honest answers.

"I have no further questions your honor." She said sitting down. It's finally over.

The judge motioned me to sit down back in my seat which I did and on my way I saw my parents and friends smiling at me. I then saw Ella, who gave me a thumbs up then blew a kiss my way.

I rolled my eyes and sat down.

I turned to watch and listen to the judge call up Steven, but he didn't. Instead he banged his gavel and said, "I've heard enough. I will call a 10 minute recess while the jury makes a decision."

He then banged his gavel again.

Everyone got up to take a break, but was interrupted when a gunshot went off. People gasped when they saw one of the police officers laying on the ground shot, but not dead.

Someone yelled, "He's got a gun!" This caused people to panic even more and leave including me. I was fixing to walk out of the room when I felt someone roughly grab me. "You're coming with me."

I knew automatically who it was. Steven covered my mouth with his hand as he dragged me out the back of the building.

When we got outside we heard police sirens going off. Steven quickly threw me in a random vehicle and began hot wiring it.

Once he got it started he began driving off.

(Ella's POV)

Where's Ava!? Where's Ava!? I thought as I stood outside waiting for her to walk out of the building but she didn't. I tried going back in but a cop stopped me.

I ran over to her parents and asked where they were but didn't know either. I then asked Camren and Amor but they didn't know.

"Wait I just noticed, Steven is missing too?" Camren said looking around. We stood their thinking then our eyes widened.

"You don't think Steven has her? With a gun!" I asked freaking out.

"Obviously." Amor said.

"How'd he even get one?" Camren asked.

"That's not important. Right now we have to tell a cop." Amor said. We nodded our heads in agreement and immediately told some cops and Ava's parents.

A search part went out to look for them including us. We told to stay where we were at, but ignored the order and got in Camren's car and began driving.

"Where do you think they are?!" I asked still freaking out.

Camren sighed, "I think I might know." She got out her phone and pulled up a map with a dot moving.

"Wait is this-

"Yes this shows Ava's location." Camren said interrupting me.

"But how?" I asked.

"Well after the whole Steven incident, I was nervous to let her be out by herself with him on the loose, so I put a tracker on her phone."

"Yep you're a stalker." Amor spoke up.

"No I'm not." Camren said, "I'm just a protective friend. Now it looks like they're headed to No Turning Back Bridge." She said with wide eyes.

My heart starting racing, "Step on it." I told Camren which she did.

(Ava's POV)

We continued driving for a while in silence not saying a single word.

After a few more minutes I began recognizing where we were going. Not again.

He stopped in front of the bridge turning off the car then pointed the gun at me, "Get out!" He said in a stern tone.

I did what he told me and got out. He quickly got out too and walked behind me pushing the gun against my back.

"Keep walking until I tell you to stop." He ordered.

We walked a few more feet until we ended up in the middle of the bridge.

"Stop right here and turn and look at me." I did what he said and looked at him. I looked into his eyes and noticed that they were darker and emptier than they usually are. They look worse that how mine used to be or may still be?

"You know Steven you're stupid. I mean what're you going to do once you kill me?"

He looked down at the ground thinking but smiled, "I don't have to tell you anything because you'll be dead." He then pulled the trigger and shot me causing me to collapse.

(Ella's POV)

We parked the car where Steven couldn't see us and once we got out we heard a gunshot. Tears immediately began rolling down my face.

"AVA!" I yelled as I began running towards the gunshot.
