A New Change Occured

I'm so tired and worn out, I thought to myself as I groggily walked down the hall, like a walking zombie of the undead. But I couldn't help it. Ever since Ella came over two days ago, the only thing that's been on my mind was the movie we watched and the uncomfortable talk I had with my parents afterwards.

I continued my slow stroll down the hallway, slowly making my way outside to eat my lunch, consisting of one apple along with my sketch book and pencil. Hopefully I get to eat in peace with no annoying Ella around asking me 21 questions on what I thought about that unforgettable movie.

But to my dismay, I don't get the peace I want so badly.

"Hey wifey! Have you missed me?" A familiar, ever so cheery voice asked me. I stopped in my tracks and turned to face the tall figure, who was now standing in front of me and looked up at her already annoyed.

"No I haven't missed you." I spat out.

Not feeling hurt about what I said, since she's used to how I speak and act, she just smiled and kissed me on the cheek, catching me off guard again. Why does she do that?

"I can read right through you and even though you won't admit it, I know you missed me." She said smirking and raising a brow. Why would I miss her, I just seen her this morning before school.

Then without warning she walked by my side linking our arms together and started dragging me outside. I sighed, at least we're going outside, where I wanted to go...... Gosh she can walk fast, I thought as I could barely keep up with her. But I do have to admit, I didn't mind bumping into to her, even if I do feel dead.

"Can you wait here for a second while I use the bathroom?" I turned to my right and noticed we were stopped in front of the girls bathroom.

I looked up and saw her squirming a bit, still talking to me. "Or you can go in there with me and wait if you want to?" She said winking and smiling at me.

Is she kidding? If I was in there with her, who knows what she would try to pull. "I don't like going into public bathrooms, so I'll just wait out here for you." I said leaning against a wall so I can rest. Her face fell, "Fine... I'll be out in a second." She quickly pushed opened the door and walked in as I stayed leaning against the wall waiting.

At least, now I can rest and have some peace.

"Well look who we have here? The schools weirdo." Why can't I just be left alone for one minute.

I slowly turned to my left and saw Michael standing a few feet in front of me smirking, while popping his knuckles.

"What do you want Michael? I'm not in the mood, to deal with your stupidity right now." I bluntly spoke out.

He stopped popping his knuckles as his smirk fell, "You know I was planning on just messing with you, but now since you said that...well I'm in the mood to do more things now." He balled his hands into fist and quickly stomped towards me. Great, here comes the bruises.

He pushed my back against the wall and grabbed my collar, lifting me up until I was standing on my tip toes and lifted up his arm. I looked at his fist and sighed.

"Now you're gonna get it!" He said smirking deviously. He pulled his arm back fixing to punch me, but was stopped, when a fist met the side of his face.

I watched him drop to the ground grabbing his face in pain. I then looked up to see who hit him and saw an angry Ella standing over him.

"Did I not make myself clear about anybody messing with Ava?! I said if anybody touches her, you'll be dealing with me!" She said looking down at him as he continued to squirm and cry on the ground. She then looked up at me and her face softened.

"Ava are you ok? He didn't hurt you, did he?" She said as she wrapped her arms around me, giving me a hug.

I slowly pushed her off me,"I'm fine, the only thing he hurt was my shirt collar." I said sighing as I looked down at my now wrinkled collar.

"Good because if he did then he would be getting more than just a punch to the face." She said making fists with her hands, while looking at him.

"Can we just go outside now? I'm ready to sit down and rest for a bit, until my next class?"I asked getting annoyed.

She looked at me and smiled and continued to link our arms again as we walked out of the school. I turned around to look at Michael one last time before we got outside, thinking about what Ella just did for me.

"So what kind of things do you draw or sketch?" Ella asked me as she bit into the apple I gave her. There goes my lunch.

I opened my book and started turning the pages, showing her everything I drew. "These are all amazing!" She exclaimed while studying every page as her mouth hung open in awe.

"Yeah drawing and doing anything art related helps me express what I feel and that's the main reason why I like it. That and I can draw just about anything." I said as I turned the book around, flipping it to a new blank page.

I then looked up at Ella, who was just smiling at me, "What's up with you?" I asked bluntly.

She shook her head, "Nothing. Just thinking..... So since you can draw anything. Can you draw me?" She asked blushing a bit and looking at the grass.

I stared at her, thinking, "Ok." I responded.

She looked up at me surprised, " Really?" I nodded my head, why not. " and I didn't even have to beg this time." She said smiling and finishing up her apple. She then quickly got up to dispose of her apple core and sat back down in front of me.

"So is there a certain way I have to pose or what?" She asked looking at me.

"Just be you I guess." She nodded her head ok. She then began to move around getting herself situated. She turned sideways, lifting her knees up to her chest, while crossing her arms on them then laid her cheek on her knee staring at me.

I sharpened my pencil and began to draw. Everything around me now became meaningless, because the only thing I was concentrating on was the paper in front of me  and Ella.

I wanted to start by drawing her face, so I looked up and started studying her features. I know I've said Ella wasn't bad looking, but I've never really looked at her and studied her. She's beautiful.

I continued studying her long soft dirty blonde hair, calmly flowing in the breeze. Is it weird That I want to touch it? I then moved my eyes to her face and began studying it as well. I noticed how young looking and smooth her medium colored skin looked. She's not wearing make up and she still looks beautiful.

Her eyebrows, chin and cheek bones fit her perfectly. It was nice. I then looked at her nose, it wasn't perfect, but at the same time it was. It was straight and a little round, but it suited her nicely. I then looked down at her soft lips and saw how pink and plump they were. I don't know how I didn't noticed how soft they were before when she kissed me all the time.

I finally averted my eyes and looked up into her blue orbs that were glistening with joy. I watched as they stared at me in a way I couldn't explain, but for some reason it made my heart skip a beat. I grabbed my chest, but made sure not to break eye contact with her, because for some reason I didn't want to look away, because I was afraid I would miss something. Me afraid, how weird, but I don't care at the moment.

I then noticed her face moving and cheeks getting red, causing me to snap me out of my trance.
"Is everything ok?" Ella asked.

"Yeah everything's fine. I was just studying your facial features, so I can draw you." I said clearing my voice and looking back down at my sketch book.

"Are you sure, because you look a little flushed from here?" She asked sounding concerned.

I felt my face and noticed how warm they were, what's going on?

Wait am I....... blushing?

I quickly put my hand down and began drawing, "I'm just a little hot since it's a little warm out here, so can you stop moving and talking so I can hurry and draw you?" I asked frustratingly.

She quickly put her face back down and closed her mouth and looked at me once again. When she was situated, I began sketching away. It didn't take me long until I was done. It only took me about 10 minutes, since drawing people is a walk in the park for me.

"Finished." I said putting my pencil down and closing my sketch book. "Whoa hold up! Can I look at it?" Ella asked reaching for the book.

"I guess." I said handing her the book.

She turned it around and her face lit up immediately. I watched as her eyes darted around every inch of the page, not missing a single detail.

"My wife is such an amazing artist!" She said smiling ear to ear. She put the book down and then in a matter of seconds, she threw herself on me, causing me to fall backwards on my back. I should be used to this by now, but I'm not.

"Ella you're heavy. Get off me." I spat out, while sighing. She looked at me puffing out her cheeks, "You're such a meanie head." she said slowly getting off me.

She sat up crossing her legs together, facing me, " I was just complementing you." She smiled.

"you can do that without tackling me." I said.

"But that wouldn't be fun." She said smirking and tilting her head.

I looked at her mentally rolling my eyes, she's such a kid. "The bells fixing to ring for next period." I grabbed all my things and stood up and began walking away, but stopped.

"Are you coming?" I asked while my back was facing her. I heard shuffling behind me and saw Ella standing by my side grinning, like a little kid. She's so annoying.

"On to Physical Education!" She said holding her arm straight in front of her and pointing her finger.

"You look stupid doing that." I said bluntly.

"I don't care." She said smiling as we began walking to the locker room.

She's so stupid, I thought to myself. I don't know how she made it this far, with only half a brain.

I felt a hand grab my arm stopping us from walking. "Oh my gosh!" Ella said looking at me wide eyes and smiling.

"What is it?" I asked.

She quickly began dragging me to the gym locker room and made me look in the mirror.

I looked in the mirror and couldn't believe my eyes..... I was smiling or more like smirking for the first time in my life.

I lifted up both my hands and began touching my mouth, memorizing every touch of my smirk. This is strange, I didn't even feel my self smirk. I don't even remember feeling happy. Well besides a few seconds ago, when I was thinking about Ella. Wait...what?

"This is weird." I said still touching my facing and looking at Ella through the mirror.

"It's not weird, it's normal." She said still smiling from ear to ear.

"Everyone better be outside and ready to run laps in 5 minutes! If one person is late, then everyone's running extra laps! No excuses!" The couch yelled while walking down the isle in the locker room.

"I guess we better change." Ella said sighing and walking away, "Anyways that smirk looks good on you, but it's just the beginning. We still have a long ways to go." She said turning around smiling at me and walking backwards to her locker.

I stared at her, watching her disappear and turned my attention back to my face, still studying my mouth. So weird, but I like it.

I then looked up and made eye contact with myself and saw nothing but emptiness inside my plain brown eyes. Now if only I had life in my eyes.... kind of like Ella's, then I would be happy.
