Just as the dark shadowed the sectators, we found it as an opportunity to runaway. Everybody jumped off the roof and even though I couldn't see clearly, I managed to build a frame of persons out of little bits of shadows and unless I was clear that everyone had jumped off, I did too.

The pressure raced up from my feet to my legs so I rolled and my back hit a few of pebbles. I got myself up and jumped off a few more roofs until I was crystal clear of the fact that I temporarily lost the sectators and hid behind a large carriage box.

I smiled as I took in The dark hunters already there, waiting for me—safe and sound. But my smile faded and I furrowed as I considered someone's absence. 'Where's Austin?'

Before the words escaped my mouth, Justin was already on his way back to the roof. 'Go and stick to the plan.' I told others.

'Jewel—'

'GO!' I said a bit loudly and ran behind Justin. He was getting far and far and I had to sped up. 'Just!' I jumped between two roofs and rolled to prevent my legs from being pressured. I whispered-shouted as I was afraid I might alert sectators but had to call him too.

Suddenly Justin halted and stepped behind a wall raised high enough to hide a crouched person. I stopped too just to make sure my way to Justin was clear and then tip-toed and jumped down to a roof. There was a huge gap which could only be passed by jumping which would surely made loud sound.

I waited. I waited and prayed for Justin to stay like he was and for the perfect moment to arrive soon. I peeked , holding onto my feet and standing on my toes at the same time. That's it, the moment arrived and I jumped with a loud thud and almost took Justin down to shush him by placing my hand over his mouth. His eyes popped out but relaxed as he took in my appearance.

'Listen, I'll go to take Austin and you'll go back right now, take Greg with you and go to our marked location.'

'Are you kidding me?!' Justin cried. 'I can't leave him there.'

'I'm going to rescue him. We can't afford both of your absence specially in this critical circumstances. Go and take Greg.' I ordered in a stern tone. 'Go.'

'But—

'—you'll go. That's an order.'

He nodded after considering several of facts in his mind. 'Good.'

I propped myself up and crouched to hide behind a chimney. The sectators weren't much there as far as I could see. Still crouched, I moved forth. I couldn't jump straight onto the roof so I used the balcony-several feet down —by jumping on it first and steadied my self up with my hands on the edge of the roof.

I hoisted myself up enough to peek. Only one pair of shoes patrolled around. I drew out my knife from my waistband and erected up using all the mighty of my arms.

A sectator charged at me. I ducked down and sliced his leg which apparently didn't affected him at all. He kicked me on my thigh to weaken me but I rolled to other side ; my eyes constantly searching for Austin. And there I found him but not in a condition I wanted to find him into.

He was hung upside down with his hands and feet tied all with one rope running in several loops. I nodded at him hoping he got my indication and he did as he smiled but it dwindled.

Footsteps ran from my behind. I needed to roll or duck but I did a mistake.

I looked over my shoulder to check and there I received a hard punch on my back. The sectator gave me a cuff over my neck. I fell on the ground. He charged for me once again and just as he came at a good enough distance, I jumped with my legs in front of me. They made contact with his arms that blocked the blow instead of his stomach but it was enough for him to fall backwards. I grabbed a wooden chair to smack him over his head. He didn't grimace or even groaned and that made everything a whole lot scarier.

He knotted his legs in between mine and twisted them that I stumbled. He clasped a piece of wooden chair and instead of throwing it towards me, he threw it above his head high in the air and drew out a gun. I clasped my knife more tightly and ran for him and so did he. As we ran towards each other, I slowed down and changed my direction in a snap while keeping my knife pointed at him and he fell of the building.

Yes!

I ran towards Austin and began slicing the ropes when more of sectators came. Two of them charged at me but I managed to free Austin who collapsed on the floor. 'Hurry! We need to get outta here!'

Austin nodded and kicked a sectator on his thigh whilst punching him in his throat. I ducked and pointed my knife at the sectator to stab him and finish him off but then ... the time seemed to stop and mom's voice rattled in my mind.

'Don't kill them. They're influenced.'

I didn't know what made me do this but I flipped my knife and twisted my leg beneath two sectators. One fell. One stumbled. I shuffled at the back of the sectator and hit him with the handle of my combat knife hard enough on his head that he fell. More and more came. I looked at Austin who at once got my indication.

We started backing away towards the edge while fighting and saving ourselves. I acquired a scratch in my arm. 'Austin!' I called him.

'Got it!'

And we both backflipped off the building.

While going down, I aimed for balcony's handle but my hand slipped and I began falling down until someone held my hand and stopped me halfway. 'Hang on!' Austin said as he tried to haul himself up and into the balcony. He pulled me up enough that I held balcony's floor and hoisted myself up by myself.

I looked at my watch. 'Shit!'

'I know. Everything's shit.'

'Come on!' I urged and we began running into the building. Just like the city, the building was as dark and miserable. No sign of human life ever seemed to exist but we could't waste time anymore. We ran down the stairs as fast as our legs could allow. Once we were out, we saw sectators coming from both ways. Austin and I silently communicated and we both parted our ways.

I ran with all my mighty as half of the sectators limbed towards me. I couldn't keep on going straight, so I climbed up the wall—my feet got strangled in sectators' arms who tried to pull me down but failed. I jumped on the roof from the wall and slid down the other side.

I kept on doing it until I was sure I lost some of the sectators. A swoosh sound heard and I looked over my shoulder just in time to duck to get rid of those flying objects no less dangerous than one an other. I distorted as one of their weapon hit me on my shoulder. Changing my direction to my left , I jumped off the roof and onto the road.

I looked at my left. Then at my right and found the ice cream van parked right in the corner of the street. I started running towards it but crashed into someone's chest. I drew out my knife to stab the sectator.

'It's me. Come on!' Austin held my hand and we began running towards the van with a whole army of sectators following us. Soon the guns fired and objects were thrown at us. 'Oh fuck!' Austin held him arm who would've received a blow just like I did.

'You OK?'

'Yeah.' He stumbled and we slowed down for a second until we picked up our pace again. I pulled open the door and crawled in and so did Austin. He started the engine and when it revved, he put his foot on the gas and drove towards the sectators.

'Austin! Watch out!' I yelled at him as he sped towards the sectators who didn't move and were standing as if waiting for him to approach.

'Trust me.' Austin said but sped towards them. I opened my mouth to tell him to stop but then I was crashed into the door as he turned right into a street immediately. 'Seatbelt.' He said and I rolled my eyes but did as well.

We sped into the street finding a way to the road. I was about to crash into the dashboard but didn't because of my seatbelt as Austin hit the break too instantly that our car jerked. 'Austin now what?!'

'I reckon we turned wrong way.' He said looking to his left and then to his right.

'Are you kidding me!'

'Er... no.' But then he hit the gas and I stroke against the head set. I picked up the headsets settled there for us and placed one in my ear and gave Austin one.

'Can't you see I'm driving?' Austin took the headset.

'I'm not even touching your ear.' I said and shoved him the headset. I turned it on. 'Hello?'

'Elsa! Is that you?' Stephen sounded.

'Yes.'

'Okay great. Can you turn on the navigator as well?' I turned it on. 'Okay Good. I've got your location. Turn left from here.'

'Austin left.' I told him. 'Idiot it's right.'

'Oh sorry. It's just that hanging upside down did no good to my blood circulation.' Austin began reversing the car and hit it in something. I turned around to see another car right behind us. 'Shoot shit fuck hell!' Austin yelled out a series of curses and turn right.

'Elsa left.' Justin urged.

'I know.' I said not mind explaining.

'Okay from here right.' I heard Justin and gestured Austin to my right. He nodded and turned the van to right hitting the gas as much as he could. 'Left and then another left.' Justin told us. We took the first left and then stared at each other.

'Justin are you serious?'

'Yes! What are you waiting for?! We're running out of time!' Justin yelled.

'Hit it.' I told Austin and off we set going down the stairs as apparently we broke into a building cause we needed to lose the car following us and had to take a shortcut too. My body vibrated as the wheels work down the stairs. We flew off the chairs in front of us and Austin took the left. The car behind us started shooting and that's when things got more worse.

Our one wheel punctured as they shot at our wheel. We were nearly about to hit into the tree if Austin wouldn't have took a sharp turn. Our van jiggled and squirmed on the road trying to dodge the bullets, to lose the car and reach our location.

'Unbuckle you seatbelt!' Austin yelled and I did. I unlocked my door. . . Austin hit the gas . . . another tire punctured . . . In front of us was a the footpath . . . we would crash into the tree . . . my hands sweated . . . my breathing shallow . . . and then the car crashed in the shop. We both jumped out of our vans and rolled to go as far as we could. I stood up , barely managing to steady myself and having time to feel the very scratch on my foot as I ran. I looked over my shoulder for Austin and soon he came into view running in the same direction as I was.

'COME ON!' I shouted and dashed. Austin jumped forward and barely managed to smash into the car that had been following us. He spilled the tank of water placed on display in front of the shop of The water distillation. The car skidded onto the spilled water and crashed into the van with a loud BOOM and the both of the cars exploded. Austin survived to run at a far distance from the explosion.

We got into the building and started rushing upstairs. 'Elsa! Can you hear me?!' I suspected panic in Justin's voice who spoke into my headset.

I couldn't muster up enough courage to explain him. He must've gotten worried as he lost connection with our navigation in the car.

The thud thud from out heels echoed in a perfect sync in the empty building . I used the railings to support myself up , taking two steps at once but urging to stop as well. The sync of the melody from our shoes broke after a while. I halted and looked over my shoulder to see Austin leaning against the wall , his hand on his chest for he tried to gain his breath.

'Austin?' I said.

He tilted his head towards me and spoke. 'I'm old.'

I smiled. 'Don't. Not now.' He closed his eyes for a briefest of seconds and began climbing up the stirs with me.

We rounded off a set of stairs. Then another. And another. And just like that, we went through another four set of stairs with us stopping for just a minimal of seconds to catch our breaths until we saw the door. I looked over at Austin who crossed his fingers. 'I need to fly now.'

I smiled and took a deep breath simultaneously preparing myself to draw out my knife at the very second but just as I twisted the knob, I smiled as widely as I could.

'We made it in time didn't we?' I said and limbed towards the The dark Hunters waiting for us counting each and every minute. Justin practically rushed over at Austin who was knocked back. 'Brother!' He yelled.

'Didn't know it yet.' Austin murmured but hugged back.

I bent forwards to catch my breath that seemed lost in all the climbing up of stairs. 'Hey.' Someone breathed.

I smiled and straightened up. 'It's time to go now.' Leo told me and side hugged me. I nodded and walked past the dead guards laid all over the roof. When we reached the stolen helicopter, my attention was diverted towards a row. 'What is happening here?' I asked.

Leo had already settled himself on pilot seat with Stephen beside him. 'I said no!' Justin yelled. I almost forgot that hugging was not their thing.

'Why!' Austin shouted at Justin. 'You always have it.'

'Cause I'm older.'

'One minute and fifteen seconds!' Austin told him. The helicopters thrummed and my hair went on flying as the wings rotated.

'So?'

'SO?'

'Mommy loved me more!' Austin said.

'We didn't even see her! How did you know?'

'I just do!'

'Guys! What the fuck?!' I yelled . I needed to sit desperately as I was so tired but their fighting was not helping.

'Austin wants window seat.' Justin told me and I rolled my eyes. Surely , seriousness was also not their thing.

'Austin seriously?' I asked him. 'Now? Of all the times. Now?'

'But I—

'Austin believe me. This time, you won't like the view of the world so sit wherever you want.' I spoke although as hurt as it seemed to me, it was truth. We all settled in the helicopter that we had planned to steal. At that day, I learned one  thing ; tranquillity was not The Dark Hunters' thing.
