Elsa POV

I instantly went in the bathroom to put on clothes just as Leo left the room and looked in the mirror again.

My hair looked so bad. Last night they were so pretty and now, this. The more I looked into the mirror, the more I wished to shatter it.

Last night, they looked so good. Just as I thought about last night, my heart wavered but I didn't remember why it did. The only thing I remembered was the man trying to have his hands one me and then me, waking up on my bed and throwing my stomach up. Nothing else

I rolled my long hair in a bun and wore a hat. Except from the hole at the back of the hat, my hair were completely hidden.

I turned around to plug my phone to charge when I saw that my drawer was open. I furrowed. I didn't take anything out of here ... or did I? I shrugged as I closed the drawer.

I went down in the breakfast and everyone treated me like nothing happened except for Dave. 'Hey, Elsa. Why don't you take your hat off?' He teased.

'Hey Dave, Why done't you keep your mouth shut?'

'Hey Elsa, Why are you so angry?' Austin joined in.

'Hey Austin, why do you care?'

'Hey everyone,' Greg said, 'shut the fuck off.' And we did.

Jake was no where to be seen and so was Leo. I opened my mouth to ask Dave where Leo was but closed it. Why do I care?

Just as we were to end our breakfast, Chloe walked downstairs. 'Nice hat.' She commented as she, holding a purse, left the house.

'Bitch,' I said out loud and everyone glared at me but I didn't really care. I hated her from the first day.

The breakfast ended soon and everyone went off to their work. Just as I was to get my laptop to prepare a report for the mission, the door opened and Leo entered.

'Where were you?' I blurted out.

'Nowhere.' He answered as he went back in his room. A few minutes later, he brought his laptop to me. 'I found something interesting.'

He showed me a file with a picture of a man I recognised too good. 'He's the one—

'—from the club. I know.' Leo finished for me. His scrolled the page, 'Now I get it why he was trying to have his hands on you.'

'Because he wanted something from me?' I questioned him as I understood. 'But what he can possibly want?'

'The ring?' Leo scratched his jaw. 'They attacked you for it too. Maybe, he was one of Hades' sectator?'

'A what?'

'Sectator. I learnt Hades' calls his men sectators.'

'Whatever he calls them is not our concern. I just want to know why is that ring so important that he wants it so bad?'

'That, we can only know by him.' Leo pointed at the picture.

'Mathew.' I say his name as I lift my eyes up to Leo, 'let's go then.'

Since I could not ride my bike due to my injured arm, I sat with Leo.

He put the location to Mathew's house as he revved his bike off. I didn't quite hold him until he instantly sped up his bike. 'Leo!' I wrapped my uninjured arm around his waist. 'Can you like, drive carefully?'

'Can you like, not yell?' He said back. I almost forgot we had mics in our helmets.

'I wanna ask you something.' I asked.

'Yeah.'

'What happened last night?'

'You don't remember?'

'Nope. Did something happen?'

'No, I just pulled you off that guy and ...' he trailed off.

'And what?' I gulped down. Leo never added dramatic effect, and if he did this time, then something must've happened. Did that guy did something? Oh God ...

'We went back home. Period.' Leo said.

'Are you sure nothing happened?'

Leo's shoulders tensed up. 'No. Nothing.'

'Are you really sure?' I covered my nose as a strong smell of a rotten fish entered my nostrils.

'We're here.' He abruptly stopped before a house so quickly that I almost fell forward.

'Can't you be a little more gentle?' I dismounted the bike and inspected our location.

The street was just as I had expected. Narrow, barely allowing our bike to pass through it. Trash and rusted bins decorated the road. Leo covered his mouth too as he knocked on the wooden, broken door.

To our expectations, no one answered so we both took our guns out, Leo kicked the door open.

It was an old house, the floor creaked beneath our feet as our eyes look through the tainted carpeted room. 'Stay by my side.' Leo says.

'I'm not gonna ge—' just as I was to speak, Leo pulled me to his chest as a swish sound heard. I looked over my shoulder to find a knife stabbed into the wall. I glanced down and saw my foot over a thread attached to a button at the very corner of the room.

'At least for a week, free your stubbornness to blind your conscious.' Leo spoke as his eyes trailed to further obstacles while I rolled my eyes. 'He knew we'd come.'

'If not him, then someone else did.' I said as I pointed at trails of blood going to the kitchen.

I held my gun up while Leo lead the way. He held his fist up before entering, telling me to stop. He peaked in the kitchen and then gestured me to move too.

My eyes widened as I saw a man, laying on the floor on his stomach, his face away from us. Dark red blood pooled around his head.

I stopped dead in my tracks while Leo moved towards the man, his gun pointed at his head. A small tink sounded and I looked around to find the source.

Leo leant down and with his foot, toppled the man back. I darted my eyes away as soon as I glanced a hole right in his forehead. I wanted to puke.

Checking the pulse, Leo stood up and shook his head. 'Come on, search around. We'd surely find something.'

And we did that. We began searching for something we still were unaware. I looked in the broken drawers of the kitchen, under the worn out sofas, in the empty fridge. Then we searched the only other room beside a bathroom in the house.

Leo leant down to rummage through the drawers while my ears perked up as I heard the tink tink again. I swept my eyes across the room. My feet followed the sound which lead me to the cupboard. I placed my ear against the door of the cupboard and the sound got clearer.

I opened the drawer and my heart dropped in my stomach as I saw a bomb in it, with a timer on, telling me we had only ten seconds. 'LEO! RUN!'

I yelled and Leo, who was looking under the mattress, wasted no time to question when I grabbed his hand and ran to the exit door that immediately locked.

I jiggled the lock with panicky hands as I heard the ticks of remaining five seconds ...
