Introducing my new addiction 'NF'!

***

'Where the hell did she go?!'

I heard someone shouting as I made my way down the pipe. I looked down and my vision blurred again. For a moment, I thought I'll fall.

Fear clawed my throat and my hands sweat.

I had succeeded to escape in time but now I had to get out real quick. I was at the highest floor of the forty storeys building and was making my way down as quickly as I could with the help of the sewerage pipe going all the way down.

I was half way down when I spotted a man from above, pointing at me. 'She's there!' He yelled and I picked up my speed but the more I try, the further I tried, the more my speed reduced.

The man disappeared from the window. He must've have been gathering the others to catch me. I looked down again and the world spun. I was about to puke.

I was moving down when I felt a grip on my waist and someone pulled me in through the window.

'What the hell–

'Shhh ...' A familiar cologne entered my nostrils and I opened my eyes in an instant to find those forest green eyes beaming in the moonlight. He had his mask on covering his face and only his eyes could be seen. My heart lightened and my body felt protective more than ever at his sight.

He had his hand over my mouth and had me pinned against the wall. He hid me behind a table. His eyes landed on me and my stomach flipped.

'You okay?' He asked. I nodded.

My eyelids laid down. My headache increased and sleep began to wiggle it's way to me. But I could not, for we had to escape first. 'Why are you so sleepy?'

'I just ...' I trailed off and bobbed my head slightly. I didn't feel like talking.

He stood up and searched the room for any signs of the men and when he found none, he grabbed my hand and pulled me up. With the help of the table, I stood up or else I would've fallen. 'Elsa, are you seriously okay?'

'Come on.' I walked towards the exit door of the floor where the stairs were leading us to down floor.

He again looked around and so did I and no one else was there.

The floor had nothing but a table laying right in the middle of the room in front of the window. It had no lights and it's floor and walls didn't even have paint on them. It seemed to be under construction.

He opened the door and leaned down the first stair to make sure that none was there and we advanced downstairs.

We mounted down four set of stairs and when it was the third last, hustling and rambling came into hearing but we still didn't stop. Soon, someone shouted.

'GO UPSTAIRS! LOOK FOR HER! WE SHOUDN'T LOSE HER!'

Footsteps echoed from downstairs. Without a single thought, Leo pulled me in a room.

This was the same room as before. Computer tables lined the walls and broken chairs stacked the ground.

I rubbed my temples again to soothe the headache. My eyes snapped up as Leo's fingers contacted with my temples. He rubbed them and I closed my eyes. 'What did they do to you?' He whispered.

I was to answer when Leo pulled me under the table as soon as he, from the window, registered someone coming here. He leant against the wall, behind the door.

When the door burst opened, Leo, from behind, come forth and twisted the man's neck.

Leo instantly took his jacket off to wear it. He took the took from him and tossed it to me. Dragging his body, he hid it behind the table.

Leo peeked from the window again and then came back to me. This time, instead of giving me his hand, he helped me stand up.

We moved downstairs and when we reached the last floor, many men, alerted and vigilant guarded the door.

I gripped Leo's jacket as I was about to fall. He caught me midway and pulled me close to his chest. The world blurred out more often. 'Elsa,' he called my name, 'stay. Just for some more time and I promise, I'll take you back home.'

He showed me the inner of his jacket. 'I have a plan.'

My both upper arms were seized by both of the men followed by one other man as we headed to the truck.

I looked back at the building where Leo was. He handed me over to guards who were taking me to their boss.

Casting a doubtful look over my shoulder, I fell on the floor, pretending to be unconscious.

The men, utterly confused, bent down. Afraid I might be dead, someone checked my pulse.

I took an advantage of the opportunity as I caught the wrist of the one checking my pulse, and I twisted it behind his back. The two other men took their guns out at me.

I snatched the gun of the man and pointed it at his forehead. 'One more step ahead, and I'll kill him.' I warned.

I knew my warning was weak as the other two snickered so without wasting any more time, I shot the other two in their chests.

'Please, don't kill me.' The man, I held hostage, whimpered.

'I am having a shitty headache and do you know why?'

'I know. We don't know anything. It was boss' orders. He wanted you to forget.'

'Forget what?'

'I don't know.' He whined.

I wished to shoot him right away but I held my temptation back. 'Go.' I let go of him.

He stood up, eager to walk away. I sat back, leaning my back against the truck in order to close my eyes when I hear a click of a gun. Before I can be dead, I shoot at the last man and he died right away.

I looked down at the dead bodies. How easily can I kill them all? I knew if not now, someday, the remorse would kill me instead.

BAM!

A thudding sound came from behind. I looked over my shoulder to see the whole building was on fire. It failed amaze me for that was Leo's plan, letting me go out while he blasted the building.

I was not supposed to be worried, but for some strange reason, I was. Leo was in there.

Somewhere deep, I believed he would make it but having no signs of him, my hopes ceased to stay with me.

I began counting for I did not have any watch. '1.. 2... 3... 4...'

It felt as if I was counting my own death. I leant my head against the wall and closed my eyes. The crisps of the fire eating away the building sounded as it's heat slowly approached me.

'58 ... 59 ... 60...' a crease drew on my forehead. What's taking him so long?

Mustering up the courage, with the help of the truck, I hauled myself up. My knees weakened and if I would not be holding the truck, i would've fallen with probably a promise of never getting up.

As I walked towards the building, I pant. The fire was too bright. I squint my eyes and a drop of sweat fell down my face. Where are you Leo?

As soon as the truck ended, I let go of it. My legs seemed to not pick my weight as I was to fall but a pair of hands catch me, again.

'Already falling for me?' I just as I heard Leo's voice, without even a second thought, I wrapped my arms around his neck.

A wave of relief and merriness penetrated through my body. He is here. I told myself. He is here.

His muscles contracted at the very moment. His body was stern but then it relaxed as he wrapped his hands around my waist.

It seemed as if someone had put a protective blanket over me.Β

'I'm glad you made it.' I said as I pulled back but Leo's arms stayed where they were, for the sake of helping me stand.

He smirked. 'You were worried for me?'

I rolled my eyes. 'No. I was worried for the keys of your bike. I need them to go back home.' I pulled back as I began walking to ... I had no idea.

But I could not, for not long enough. It was the limit I had been pulling for so long. Leo sprinted to catch up with me and offered me his hand.

I took it.

'I'm glad you made it too.' He said. Distant sirens were heard. The heat of the fire wore off me as we walked in the opposite direction.

'Yeah.' I said. 'It's not like I had any other option.' I closed my eyes for another brief moment. I just wanted to go back.

Leo, seeing me, rubbed my temples again. 'Let's go home now.'
