"Nessa, it's Hayley here!" the person responded. "Hey Hayley! What are you doing with my mom's ph-" My question was cut off by her urgent voice. "Nessa, you need to get here right now. It's your mom. She's in the ICU."

Name: Amanda Emily Macbeth
Time of Death: 5.30 am

I couldn't believe it. She was gone. My mother was dead and I couldn't do anything. My mom was dead. I didn't even get to say goodbye. I was one hour late. I had got a call from Hayley when my flight landed. My mom was dead even before I reached Australia.

"Nessa, are you okay?" Selena asked me for the seventy fifth time since I had got the news. "Yes." I answered for the seventy fifth time. "You can talk to me." Selena suggested for the seventy fifth time. "I don't want to talk." I said for the seventy fifth time. She was worried about me. I hadn't shed a tear since I understood about her death. She wanted me to to talk to her and breakdown. But all I was feeling was numb.

My house in Australia had caught fire. My mom was stuck in the house. The Fire Fighters found her in the kitchen, lying on the floor with fourth degree burns and she was taken directly to the hospital and in the ICU. But what I don't understand is that why didn't she get out of the house when she saw smoke? What was she so busy doing? And how did the fire even start?

But that was not the only thing that was troubling me. I had begged Stefan to come with me. He knew my state of mind was not going to be in the right place. Yet, he didn't agree. It's like he did not want to come with me. Was it because of the Formal? But I thought he forgave me. I guess not. But he seriously should have kept that aside. I needed him and he didn't come.

They were not even letting me see the body. There is going to be no funeral. They are going to burn the body. Ashes. That's what is left of my mom. "Nessa, you there?" Hayley asked me. "What?" I snapped. "I think you should know that the fire fighters think that the fire was not an accident." She carefully said.

"What?" My eyes went wide. "They think that it was deliberate attempt." Hayley continued. "Are they sure?" I asked. She only nodded. I got up from my chair and started walking out of the hospital. "Nessa, wait. Where are you going?" Lena called behind me. "The Elite House." I answered. "Are you sure you want to do that? We can go there afterwards." Lena suggested.

"Yes." I said as I pushed the hospital doors open and stepped out. "Nessa. Stop okay." Lena shouted as she stepped in front of me, blocking my way. "Lena-" I started but she cut me off. "You are not okay. You don't want to this." Lena said. "Yes. I do." I firmly stated. "You are just converting your sadness into anger, Nessa. Don't do that. It will do you no good." She warned. "I don't care." I growled.

"You don't always have to be strong Nessa. It's okay to cry. I am here for you." Lena said. "I don't know if I will ever stop!" I screamed, causing many heads turn towards us. "I don't know if I will ever stop if I start crying. And I don't want to cry. I want revenge. I am going to find the person who did this and crush them into thousands of pieces. They need to pay for this." I glared.

Lena tried to keep a straight face but I knew I was scaring her. I didn't want to do that. But Lena can be very stubborn. "And I will also kill whoever stands in my way." I warned as I walked past her. "Nessa, you can't do that." She requested. "I can and I will." I stated. "You have never killed anyone." She continued. "Well, there is a first time for everything." I smirked as a plan of action started forming in my mind. "Well then, I am coming with you."

"No, you are not." I stated as I got into the driver seat of the car which was sent to pick us up. Lena got in the passengers seat. "Lena, I am not taking you with me." I glared. "You can't decide that." She smirked. "Lena-" I started but she cut me off. "She was my God mother, okay? So shut up and drive." She glared at me. I couldn't argue any further. The engine roared to life and we drove off to the Elite House.

**********

We completed all the security scans and entered the house. All my childhood memories came back to me as I walked through the hallway. I used to love this place. I spent so much time here that I know this place at the back of my hand. I quickly made my way to the Research room.

Everyone stood up as soon as they saw me enter. "Okay people, sit down and get to work. I want all the cameras around my house carefully checked. And I mean carefully." I deadpanned as everyone nodded and got to work. "Nessa, how are going to tell Ethan?" Lena suddenly asked.

Oh God! How was I going to tell him? I don't want to be the one to tell him. "Nessa?" Selena asked. "I don't know." I sighed. "You should call him. He should know." Lena suggested. "How can I tell him that his mom is dead?" Lena flinched at what I said. Before I could ask her if she was okay, I realized I had just said it out loud.

Tears slowly started forming in my eyes. No. You cannot cry Nessa. Stay strong. I told myself. But I don't think I could hold it any longer. Saying it out loud made it sound more real. Before anyone could see the tears, I quickly ran out of the Research room and up to my office. I entered inside and closed the door, immediately locking it. I sunk down on the floor and tears started streaming down my face.

She was gone. I was never going to see her. She was really gone. And I am pretty sure it was my fault. If Ethan hadn't stepped in to protect me, he wouldn't be in the hospital. If he wasn't in coma, mom and dad wouldn't have divorced. If they wouldn't have divorced, mom wouldn't have sold the house and moved here. If mom wouldn't have moved here, she would still be alive. It was all my fault.

Before I started hyperventilating, I picked up my phone and called Ethan. I so wanted to call Stefan but he would be very busy. He was very busy to come with me when I needed him. So I decided against troubling him. After two rings, Ethan picked up the phone.

"Hey sis! I am little busy right now. Can I call you later?" Ethan's cheerfully asked. "Ethan?" I sobbed. "Nessa, are you crying? Why are you crying? Is everything okay? Did Stefan do anything? Do you want me to come to California and kill him?" He bombarded me with questions, the concern clear in his voice. This why I love my brother. "No. I am in Australia." I sighed.

"You are where? Why? Did dad say anything to you? Do you want me to talk to him?" He asked. "It's mom." I sighed. "What about her? We talked yesterday. She is planning on visiting you for Christmas as Selena's mom had left for Canada. Wait- I wasn't supposed to tell you that. Please don't tell her I told you that." Ethan requested.

"I can't." I sobbed. She was going to visit me for Christmas. I had told her not to come as it would be too much work. But she was still going to do that. "What do you mean you can't? Nessa, you are starting to scare me now. What happened?" Ethan asked. "She's gone. Mom is gone." I burst out into more tears.

"Gone where?" Ethan questioned. "The house was on fire. She was stuck inside. I got a call saying that she was in the ICU. Even before I could reach here, she was gone." I cried. The other side of the line went silent. "Ethan?" I bit my lip, trying hard not to burst out crying again. "When?" Ethan slowly asked. "In the morning." I answered. "Ethan, please come here." I begged.

"Yeah- yeah, I'll be there. Who is there with you, now?" He inquired. "Selena." I answered. "Only? What about Stefan?" Stefan's name made my blood boil. "He had more important business to attend to." I glared at the wall, imagining Stefan's face there. "Okay. I'll deal with that later. Don't do anything stupid. I am coming." Ethan said and ended the call. Don't do anything stupid? Well, that was not going to happen.

"Nessa, you there?" Selena knocked at the door, bringing me out of my trance. "Yeah." I answered as I slowly got to my feet. "I know you don't want to hear this but Stefan has been calling me since forever. I really think you should talk to him." Selena suggested. "No." I stated as I opened the door and started walking towards the Research room, Lena closely behind me.

"Nessa-" "No, Lena. I am not talking to him." I growled. Before Lena could say anything further, her phone started ringing. "Don't you dare pick up if it is Stefan." I warned. "It's Ash." She said and gave me the phone.

"Hey Ash." I sighed. "Cupcake! Why are you not picking up your phone?" Ash asked. "I was talking to Ethan." I answered. "Okay. How's-" I heard Ash's phone get snatched away from him. "Princess-" I ended the call as soon as I heard Stefan's voice.

"What happened?" Lena asked. "Stefan happened." I rolled my eyes. I saw Hayley coming our way. "Hayley, when did you get here?" I asked. "After you guys left the hospital, I was pretty sure something bad was going to happen. I couldn't miss it." She shrugged. "Get to the point." Lena rolled her eyes.

"So, the Research team found some information. Turns out there was a person who visited your house just before the fire." She informed. "Who?" "You might want to see that yourself." She said and we all made our way to the Research room.

"Play it." I said to one of the Research members. It was the film from the camera in the main gate pillar. Surprisingly, no one ever notices it there. The video went on for two minutes, without any movement and then a car stopped in front of it. A man, around my age, got out of the car. Why did he seem familiar? He turned around and I saw his face. It was Kevin.

What? He was the one who started the started the fire? This can be some misunderstanding, right? "I want all his background checked." I ordered. The Researcher nodded and got to work. Within minutes, I had Kevin's File in front of me. That's why I love my gang.

I scanned down the file till something caught my eye. Wait a minute- Kevin is in a gang? And not just any gang. He is in The Kings. "I can't believe they broke the agreement." I sighed. "Yeah." Selena gasped. "Well, I don't care who they are. They broke the agreement. They pay for it." I announced.

"I want all the details on The Kings. Now!" I shouted as everyone got to work. I can be scary when I want to be. "Who was the leader? I remember meeting him during the Meetings for the agreement. But I was way small to remember. I think his name started with a 'J'." I said to Selena.

"But they had the Leader ceremony. The new one is young and hot." Hayley suggestively raised her eyebrows. "She has a boyfriend." Lena informed. "Yeah, the one who bailed on me when I needed him the most." I rolled my eyes. "Here it is." Hayley handed me the file. Without looking anywhere else, I directly looked were I would know what I want to. But the next thing what I saw, made me shocked, sad, horrified, angry and furious.
