To say I am nervous would be a huge understatement. I am feeling anxious, edgy, tense, petrified, excited, skittish, neurotic, happy, overanxious, enraptured, horrified, hysterical, timid, fearful, thrilled, frightened, electrified, scared and all other possible emotions which I didn't even knew existed. I mean, I am going to go on my first official date with Stefan. And from what I have heard, first dates don't end up good. But there is no backing off now, right? I could tell him I am sick or something? As soon as that thought popped up in my mind, the bell rang, indicating Stefan was here. Excelente!

I take a final look in the mirror.

I don't look that bad, do I? Should I change? Should I cancel? Stop freaking out and go out there! My brain reminded me. I was snapped back to reality when I heard a knock at my door. "Cupcake? You there?" Ash asked. I did not reply. Maybe he will think I am asleep and tell Stefan that? "I am coming in." He said and before I could reply the door opened. Ash entered and examined me. "Oh My God. Is Vanessa Macbeth, the Gang leader of The Elites, nervous to go on a date with Stefan?" Ash chuckled. "Hey! Lower your voice. He doesn't know about it." I glared.

"Cupcake. It's just a date. Go out there and be yourself." Ash advised. "Heard that one before." I mumbled. "Look, the person standing out there really likes you. I have no idea how that happened but it did. And even if you go out there, dressed in a garbage bag, he would still like you. I can see it in his eyes. Plus, you look great." Ash smirked. "Since when did you become a expert?" I rolled my eyes. "I was always one. You just didn't notice it. Now, stop procrastinating and go!" Ash said as he pushed me out of my room.

"Hey Princess!" Stefan chirped as soon as he saw me. He was in a black shirt and a black jeans. All black but he still looked hot. How is that even possible? "Hey!" I smiled. "You look beautiful." Stefan commented. "Thank you. You look beautiful too." I smirked, teasing him. I was nervous but I was not going to let him see that. "That's not the word I would use. I prefer hot." Stefan smirked. And suddenly all the nervousness I was feeling vanished. How can one little cocky comment from his mouth do that?

I just rolled my eyes and walked towards Stefan and kissed his cheek. But this is Stefan we are  talking about. He cupped my face and smashed his lips on mine. It was a sweet kiss, but it still had the effect on me. "Okay lovebirds. Out of my house. Now!" Ash said and pushed us out of the door. "Bye Cupcake. Don't have too much fun without me!" Ash shouted.

"Can you to tell Ash to stop calling you Cupcake?" Stefan suddenly asked as we entered the elevator. I just rolled my eyes. "I am not going to tell him to do that." I chuckled. "But-" "Stefan, he is my best friend since childhood. He has been calling me that since then. If I tell him to stop, he might even listen and agree. But it would be I who would feel uncomfortable if he doesn't call me that." I explained. Stefan sighed and nodded. "Aww. Is little Stefie jealous?" I teased.

"Don't call me that." Stefan playfully glared at me as we stepped out of the elevator and walked out of the lobby. I looked outside to see Stefan's bike. "We are going on that?" I asked Stefan. "Yep. Why? Is little Princess scared to ride a bike?" He copied my teasing. "Hey!" I playfully hit him. "You know I can drive one right? Don't mess with me Thompson." I smirked. Stefan just chuckled and raised his hands in surrender as he got on the bike, followed by me.

"Hold on tight." Stefan said as he took my hands and placed it around his waist. I raised my eyebrows but he just shrugged. I shook my head and chuckled as I tightened my grip and we drove off.

"Where are we going?" I asked, raising my voice to be heard over the roaring wind. "That's for me to know and you to find out." Stefan smirked. I just rolled my eyes. After a while, Stefan stopped at a Carnival. I was mesmerized by the sight. The blue sky was dotted with a few candy-floss clouds. The entrances to different booths were crowded with increasingly excited and impatient people. Faint music could be heard from beyond the tall gates with the occasional happy scream suddenly piercing the air. At the end of the carnival, a huge, brightly lit Ferris wheel stood proudly. Below, younger children stood watching, eating their sweets and snacks. It was a sight to die for.

"I see that you like it." Stefan smiled. "Love it." I said as I took his hand and ran inside. Stefan just chuckled. "How did you find this? I don't remember it being here." I asked, still taking in my surroundings. "You can have a bit of privileges when you are a Thompson." He answered. My eyes went wide. "Don't tell me set this whole thing for me." I gasped. "I just brought forward their arrival." Stefan shrugged. My mouth went wide. "Wow." was the only thing I could say. "Come on." He said as he took my hand and pulled me towards one of the booths. If he wouldn't have pulled me, I would have stood right there.

"They have an ice skating rink?" I asked as I saw where Stefan had pulled me. "Yep. They do." Stefan proudly said. "I still cannot believe it." "Believe it Princess. Its real." Stefan smirked as we headed inside the rink. We placed our shoes in the shoe-rack and wore our skates. But there was one small problem. I didn't know how to skate.

"Come on." Stefan said as he took my hand and held me in place as I stepped on the ice. My feet were wobbling like jelly. I never thought skating was so tough. It seemed so easy on the television. "Just follow my lead." Stefan said as he took my hand and led me towards one end of the rink. "I am going to fall." I exclaimed.

"I'll catch you." Stefan said. "I am going to break my bones." "Your bones are stronger than you know." Stefan chuckled at my childishness. "How do you know about my bones?" I raised my eyebrows. Stefan just shrugged. By now, I didn't even realize that we had completed one circle around the rink and I was not holding Stefan's hand. I was skating by myself. But as soon as I realized it, I lost my balance and was about to fall down when Stefan quickly caught me. "Told you, I'll catch you." Stefan smirked. I just pecked his lips as he helped me to stand back up.

After some more rounds, I stepped outside the rink and I let Stefan enjoy the ice. He was surprisingly good at it. I got out of my skates and wore my boots. I stood there, leaning against the side of the rink admiring Stefan who was showing off his skating skills. I still can't believe this idiot, who was skating on the ice rink, smiling like a Cheshire cat, was my boyfriend. "Why is a beautiful lady like yourself standing alone?" Someone asked me from behind.

I turned around only to meet with a pair of familiar brown eyes. Where had I seen them? "Hey! You are Ethan's sister right?" The person asked. And I remembered where I had seen him. "That would be me. And you would be Blake?" I said. "Yes m'lady." He said as he took and hand and kissed the back of it. I could feel my face heat up. "So, what are you doing here alone? Want to grab a bite?" He asked. I was about to answer 'no' when I was rudely interrupted by Stefan.

"She is not alone,  a*shole. So back off." Stefan glared at him. "Stefan, this is Blake. One of Ethan's friends. Blake, this is Stefan. My boyfriend." I said. "What do you want?" Stefan asked in a monotone. "I just came to say'hi'. I'll be leaving now. See you later Vanessa." Blake said as he awkwardly walked away from us.

"What's the matter with you?" I asked Stefan. "Nothing?" Stefan said. "He was flirting with you. I don't like want anyone flirting with my girlfriend." He said as he protectively wrapped his hand around me. I just rolled my eyes at his childishness. "Come on. I saw something there." I said as I pulled him towards the shooting booth.

"So, you want me to win you a teddy bear?" Stefan smirked. "No. I am challenging you. Lets see who wins the larger teddy bear." I smirked. "Oh really? You think you can beat me in shooting?" Stefan raised his eyebrows. "Anytime." I shrugged. "You are on." Stefan smirked as he paid the man and was given a loaded riffle. We had six chances we had to pop the balloons of the same colour.

Stefan stood started shooting. He shot all of the six balloons, out of which, five were of the same colour. "Beat that, Princess." Stefan smirked. Boys and their over confidence. Stefan paid the man and I was handed a loaded riffle. I took my aim and fired. Thanks to the my training, I shot all the six balloons of the same colour. I turned to see Stefan whose mouth was wide open. "Wow." Stefan gasped.

"I won." I stated. "You have a very good aim, Princess." Stefan complimented. "Thanks, Stefie." I smirked. "Hey! No teasing. Where is your sportsmanship?" Stefan whined. I  just shrugged as the man handed me a human sized teddy bear while Stefan was handed a smaller one. "Where to next, Princess?" Stefan asked.

Without responding, I just took his hand and ran towards the Ferris Wheel. We were standing in the line when a small girl came up to me. "Hwello! What is hwis name?" She asked, pointing at the human sized teddy bear. "Well, would you like to give him one?" I bent down to come to her height and asked. "Hwiro." She grinned. "You like him?" I asked. She vigorously nodded. "Take it. Hiro is all yours." I smiled. She started jumping up and down. "Thwank you." She said and she took the teddy from me and went running towards someone who I assumed to be her mom.

"And when I think I can't like you anymore, you do something like this and I started liking you more." Stefan chuckled. I playfully hit him. "Why did you do that? That was like your trophy." Stefan asked. "Well, I can go there again and win another one. And we came here on a bike. We wouldn't have been able to take him home. Plus, as for a human sized teddy bear, I have you." I smiled as I wrapped my arm around Stefan and rested my head on his chest. Stefan chuckled as we stepped into one of the cabin on the Ferris wheel.

After one round, the Ferris Wheel stopped rotating, with us on the top. "You know, they say it feels magical to kiss at the top of the Ferris wheel." Stefan said. "Do they?" I asked I smashed my lips on his. Stefan immediately responded. A shiver ran down my spine as our lips moved sync. The whole world disappeared. It felt like we were the only two people, sitting in a cabin which was floating in the air. There were fireworks everywhere. It was truly magical. After a while, we parted and the Ferris wheel started rotating again.

"Was that magical enough?" I smirked. Even though my insides were still churning, I was not going to let him see that. "Yes." Stefan said as he wrapped his arm around me. After getting out of the Ferris wheel, we bought some cotton candy. "I want a piggyback ride." I said. "Why would I give you one?" Stefan asked. "Because you lost to me." I answer, indicating towards the shooting booth. "Climb on." He said as he lowered himself and I climbed on his back. "I could get used to this." I smirked. Stefan just chuckled as we made our way out the Carnival. So far, this date has been the best.

"That was amazing." I cheered as we both stepped out of the restaurant after having an awesome dinner. "I am glad you liked it." Stefan chuckled. "It was way better than your food." I smirked. "Hey! That's rude!" Stefan pouted. I just shrugged as I leaned against the bike. "Well, its getting late. We should get you back to the apartment." Stefan said. "No. Its not like anyone is waiting for me there." I shrugged.

"Hey! Don't say that." Stefan said as he wrapped his arms around me. I gladly accepted the warmth as I rested my head on his chest. "Come on. I want to take you somewhere." Stefan said as he unwrapped his hands and got on the bike, and I followed. And we drove off.

After some while, we stopped in front of an abandoned building. "Are you planning to kill me?" I asked. "Why would I do that, Princess?" Stefan asked. "I don't know. You are Stefan Thompson. You are unpredictable." I shrugged. Stefan just shook his head and chuckled. "I'll be taking that as a compliment. Now, come on." He said as he took my hand and led me towards the elevator. I shocked to see the elevator working so properly even when this building was abandoned.

We reached the top of the building and made our way to the roof. I was mesmerized by the view. The whole skyline was seen, the building lights shining brightly.

"Wow! What is this place?" I asked Stefan. "Well, you know how Emma loved to cook?" He asked. I nodded. "We both shared the love for cooking. So we both planned to start our own line of hotels. This building was supposed to the first one." He sighed.

I still remember how whenever Emma used to come to my house, she used to bring one of her famous pies. I used to always tease her that she did not make it but she bought it from a restaurant. She used to challenge me to taste all the pies in all the restaurants in California, and bring a pie that tasted like that. I smiled, remembering all the times we had a fight over food.

"My dad helped us with the construction. He was very happy with our idea. B-but after sh-she- I lost the inspiration to complete this building. I had even stopped cooking because it reminded me of her." Stefan sighed. I knew he was trying to not cry. Without saying a word, I engulfed him into a hug. "You remember when I cooked for you after the fire at the birthday party?" He asked. "Of course I remember." I smiled.

"That was the first time I had cooked after she went away." He said. "Well, I am honored." I smiled. "Since that day, I always come here when I miss her. Selena was devastated when it happened. She had locked herself in her room. Sean also didn't take it well. He got so angry that he burned all of his pictures which had Emma. I thankfully stopped him before anything big could happen. Seeing them like that, I couldn't bring myself to cry in front of them. I knew I had to stay strong. So every night, I used to come here with one of her pictures and talk to it." He sighed.

"You don't always have to be strong, you know? Its okay to cry. No one will judge you." I smiled. "Some one will." He glared. "Well then, I won't." I said. "Thank you." Stefan smiled. "For what?" "For saying that." He answered. "But I remembered something. You weren't there at the funeral. Why?" Stefan asked.

"I couldn't bring myself to accept the fact that she was gone. I had never visited your house but your mom knew about me. She had even offered me to deliver a eulogy. But I just couldn't do it. I haven't even brought myself to visit her grave." I sighed. I had promised myself that I wouldn't visit her grave till I make the person who did that to her paid the prize. But Stefan doesn't need to know that part, right?

***********

After spending some more time on the roof, we went to get ice cream because according to me, a date is never complete without an ice cream in it. Currently we were at the beach, walking bare feet on the sand, talking about anything and everything.

"I had fun tonight." I smiled. "I am glad you enjoyed it." Stefan smirked. "Now, we both should head home. Its late and we have school tomorrow."I shrugged. "Yeah. You are right." Stefan nodded. "I am always right." I smirked. "Hey! That's my line." Stefan playfully glared. "Well, I stole it." I shrugged. "Race you to the bike." I shouted as I started running towards the bike. "Hey!" Stefan shouted behind me as he started running. I just laughed and continued to run. This had been one of the best days of my life. And I can't wait to see what future life holds for us.
