MERCURYS POV.

I have no idea why people chose the worst times to wake me up.

First, I wake up with a gun aimed at my father.

And now, my phones blasting.

At one in the morning.

"What?" I groaned groggily as I slid the screen to answer it.

Someone's going to be orphaned I swear to-

"Mercury? Mercury where the fuck are you?!" A man screamed into my ear.

Oh it's me. I'm about to be orphaned.

"Angelo I'm at home in bed." I sighed. "What's going-,"

"Stay there. I'll be back soon." He hung up.

I've seen Angelo mad before, but not this type of mad.

What the hell did I do? I've been asleep since eight.

I sighed before throwing my blankets off of me.

Why am I nervous? I know I haven't dont anything.

I turned the light on in my bathroom, turning on the faucet and splashing cold water on my face in an attempt to wake myself up a bit.

I'm definitely going to need it.

I heard the door slam shut downstairs.

"Mercury Lesca! Get your ass down here!"

Oh no.

I mentally prepared myself before leaving my bedroom.

Oh god. Oh god. Oh god.

My nerves were growing as I neared the stairs.

What did I do?

"Angelo, what-,"

"Where the fuck is your necklace?" His dark eyes zeroed in on me.

My necklace? That's what this is about?

"It's right-," I touch my neck expecting to feel the small silver chain.

And it wasn't there.

My eyes widened as I continued to feel around for it.

"Where the hell is it Mercury?" He took a step closer to me, raising his voice slightly.

I don't think I like this Angelo at all.

"I-," I tried my best to formulate a sentence as I thought back to the last time I had it on.

I had it on this morning, and then-

I took a shower.

I quickly ran back up my bedroom and back into my bathroom, hopping that it would still be there on the counter.

And sadly, it was not there.

"Care to explain?" Angelo stood at the door as I looked around for it.

"I-I-," I struggled.

Mercury, how do you manage to screw this up?

I couldn't find it anywhere.

"Look, I'm sorry I don't-,"

"Christ Mercury."

He was obviously angry that I didn't notice it gone sooner.

"It usually catches my eye when I get out of the shower. That's how I remember to put it back on." I frantically tried to explain.

"Start paying more fucking attention then." He turned around, slamming my door shut.

I winced at the volume of it.

I sat on my bed and held my head in hands.

What is happening?

It was impossible to know or understand the reason behind all of this, and it was freaking me out.

I didn't like anyone being mad at me, so I wasn't exactly having fun with this either.

Couldn't he have explained anything?

I just sat there. There was nothing else I could do as far as I know.

Just sitting there, with my head in my hands, bouncing my leg and trying to come up with a solution.

Of course, nothing came to mind.

I was cut off from my thinking when my phone rang for the second time today.

Looking up, I noticed that the sun had already risen.

How long have I been like this for?

Shaking my head in another attempt to clear my mind, and answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Mercury, Gino called just a minute ago, we are on our way." Penelope began. "He said your father was pretty bad. Try talking him down. Everyone's going to be miserable if he doesn't lay off."

"Me? He's probably pissed at me the most."

Ah great. This is literally all my fault.

"Trust me, he was probably a lot lighter on you than he was on anyone else. His fathers the same way- Honey I love you but it's true." I'm guessing he gave her one of his looks. "Anyways, he'll probably calm down once you talk to him. Believe it or not, parents do that sometimes. My boys have talked me out of many things."

Yeah, I'm sure that included not strangling her sister in law.

"I guess I'll try." I sighed.

"Good. We'll be there in a bit. Good luck!" She hung up.

Yeah, I'm going to need it.

I stood up, and walked out of my room.

"There you are!" Gino groaned as I walked down. "Maybe you can talk some sense into him. He's been a prick since before the sun even got hot this morning."

"That doesn't make it easier for me to talk to him Gino."

"Sorry. He's been a bucket of happiness all day long." He said sarcastically.

Oh boy.

"I'm on my way to see him now."

"Good, because he's threatening literally everyone who breathes near him."

Perfect.

I was really hoping that if he wanted to yell at me, he would do it at least a little quietly.

Look at it this way Mer. He wont physically hurt you, that's a plus.

I lightly knocked on the already cracked door before walking in.

Angelo was walking back and forth.

I really didn't know what to do.

"Angelo?"

He continued pacing and said nothing.

"Angelo can you stop moving?"

"What?" He came to a stop.

Exactly Mercury. What?

"I just-,"

"There's nothing you can do right now Mercury."

He is so not making this easy.

Not knowing what else to do, I slowly walked over to him.

"I really am sorry. Please don't be mad." I wrapped my arms around him in a hug.

Come on daughter charm.

His stature changed from a stiff one, slowly relaxing.

"Don't say that. I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have been mad at you, you didn't know." He hugged me back.

Thank god that worked out.

"Can I at least know what this is all about?" I let go of him. "No one has told me anything."

"We were out taking care of some work stuff. I noticed that the tracker in the necklace had been moving all around the city. So I panicked and yelled at you because I thought you were- I don't even know what I thought. Anyways, turns out the necklace was pawned and someone bought it, that's why it was in the city."

I stood there stunned.

So my necklace was stolen?

Damn it.

"I'm guessing the perfect family wasn't in the guest house?" I sighed.

I really did believe mother's were never supposed to leave their children.

"No, they weren't."
