I found some peace in Blaine's arms.  I feel safe now, but that doesn't take away this guilt I feel.

"Thank you for coming here, I needed you." I cried in his arms.

"Are you kidding?  I couldn't get here fast enough, and I'm never leaving you alone again." He said.

"He's dead, while his baby is alive inside me.  Blaine, I didn't hate him enough to want him dead.  I loved him at one time, and I still cared." I said, and he squeezed me tighter.

"You're carrying his baby, of course you cared.  That just wasn't enough for him, and he wanted more, even if he made you unhappy.  That's not love, that's an obsession, and you can't blame yourself." He said.

"What am I going to tell this baby when it gets older?"

He shook his head.  "Let's not worry about that right now. You've experienced enough for one day.  We need to get you changed and finished up here, then go to your parents." He said.

"Please don't leave me," I begged.

"I'll stay. Your mom offered, and I'm not leaving your side." He kissed my head.

He pulled back and looked at me.  "I'll help you change."

I looked down and almost screamed at what I saw.  There's blood all over my hands and my clothes.  My hands started to shake as I looked down at them, and I'm going to get sick.

"Cora, are you getting sick?" He asked, and I nodded.  He grabbed the strangely shaped bowl just in time and held it while I dry heaved.

"You're okay, you just haven't eaten. I'll ask the nurse for a Sprite or 7- Up."  He said.

He hit the button on my bed, and we only waited a moment for the nurse to come.  He asked for a drink and some crackers, and she left to get it.

"Raise your arms." He said, and I did what he asked.  He carefully pulled my shirt over my head and the blood-soaked through to my bra so he took that off too. He then helped me stand to take everything else off and helped me into a clean pair of scrubs.

"There's a sink right over there, I'll help you over and wash you up."

He helped me to the sink and rubbed the blood off hands, then took a towel and got it wet,  adding soap.  I was mortified when he started scrubbing my face.  Gray's blood is everywhere. I watched the red water run into the drain, then flashes of his dead body hit me.

"Something's wrong," I said, just before everything went black.

When I woke, I was laying in bed and Blaine was holding my hand.  "You're safe." He said.

"What happened?" I asked.

"You fainted, I need you to eat something.  Here are some crackers." He hit a button and my upper body raised.

He handed me a cracker, but as soon as I took a bite, I blew it out of my mouth sending crumbs all over me.  "I can't, I just can't eat." I said.

"Then at least try to drink, this is a cold Sprite." He raised the straw to my lips and the cold bubbly liquid was soothing.

"Thank you.  When can we leave?" I asked.

"You still have to see the social worker, and your doctor requested the police put their questions aside for now.  You need rest to gain your strength back." He said.

"I can go home after I talk to the social worker?"

"That depends on your doctor and what he feels is right for you and the baby at the moment." He said.

"Is the baby okay?" I panicked.

"Yes, the heartbeat is good, and the doctor doesn't see any signs of trouble, but your emotions and the stress is still taking a toll on your body.  He probably won't release you until you can eat something." Blaine said.

"Okay, I'll try.  Can you get the social worker so I can go home soon?" I asked, as he handed me another cracker.

"Sure, the nurses will call her for us." He said, and hit a button on my bed.

He asked for the social worker while I force-fed myself some crackers.  When she came, she just talked about counseling services and the importance of my support system.  Mom came in, and Blaine went to talk to the social worker by himself.

"Are you ready to go home?" She asked.

"I'm not going to get any better in this place.  I need to shower and sleep in a normal bed." I said.

"Other than paperwork, you're set to go.  Eli and Blaine are out doing the paperwork now, and as soon as they're back, we'll go home." She said, then paused for just a moment.  "That man loves you." She said.

"I know, I'm lucky to have him," I said.

"Yes, you are, and he will make a wonderful father to this baby." She said.

"Yeah, he will, but what about Gray?  What about his family?  They're going to hate me, Mom." I cried again.

"No, they do not hate you.  Honey, Gray has had troubles for quite some time now.  I spoke to his mother, and they were trying to get him help. He lost his job in Seattle, and did not have one lined up at Children's in Cincinnati.  He has been irrational, and they even had him on a 48-hour hold last week." She said as she sat on my bed and ran her fingers through my hair.

"I spoke to him last week over the phone.  He was in Seattle." I said.

She shook her head.  "He lied to you, sweetheart.  Gray has been stalking you for a few years, and his family is just thankful you are okay."
